Bumblebee The Bumblebee Spin-Off Official Thread

For years, people have screamed and shouted about getting G1 designs.... now they're here... and they're screaming and shouting that they're not the same designs as the previous movies. #CantWin

It’s more that a large contingent of TFW2005 forum people, and other people in general, have been huge fans of the Bayformers films, it’s philosophy and the bots design aesthetic, to the point where they’ll get really defensive if you criticize anything to do with those films and think anything G1-esque design-wise is pandering to old fans of the franchise. (There are some more levelheaded users on that forum, fortunately).

As for me, I’ve never really liked the look of the Bayformers designs, much less the movies (loved the toys and their complex transformations, though), so the G1 designs and the new direction (from someone who grew up with G1, no less) for the films are more than welcome to me and a breath of fresh air for a franchise that has become stagnant and is in dire need of fresh blood.

Transformers that aren't a complete mess of moving pieces that you can't identify?

Amazing. Looking forward to the trailer. I may actually have to see this in the theaters.

Looks good...I wonder how Megatron's redesign will look like.

I never thought I'd see the day. G1 in live action.

Should’ve been this way from the start. Hollywood needs to learn not to fix **** that isn’t broken.

I’m not sure my body is ready for live action G1 Megs.

Looks like a soft reboot for now....the box office will determine if this will be a full blown reboot...

G1 transformers, whoever the director is just proved bay is a dope. And I actually like his movies transformers and non transformer movies included.

Bay's stuff can be fun, but like the TF series and the TMNT movies, he does whatever the **** he wants to do regarding design because he wants to. Not because it's neccessary.

After Revenge of the Fallen, my interest in Transformers was pretty much dead. Now I am actually getting hyped again.

The CGI of Cybertron is kind of rough, but goddamn. To actually be able to recognize classic characters? Sign me up.

Still, the movie looks good. A Transformers movie with actual heart? Who woulda thunk it.

This might be the first Transformers I'll watch in a theater since Revenge of the Fallen, and the first since Dark Side of the Moon I'll actually watch all the way through.

We need some gifs stat, especially Soundwave.

I think this and Mary Poppins Returns is going to steal a lot of Aquaman's box office.

Arthur Curry might mind if those films box office figures rise. :D:cwink:

I hope they get the surviving original G1 voice actors reprise their roles.

Wow Soundwave looks awesome I hope they turned this into a full on reboot and give us the transformers we deserve CAN'T WAIT TO SEE MEGATRON

I hope that Megatron basically looks like this.

The Cybertron scenes do look blatantly CG because the entire scene is pretty much CG, but the characters meld a lot better when they're on Earth amongst live action actors. You have to full size that shot of Shockwave tho to really see how detailed the model is.
