I've been thinking about something... that note to Bruce which says "You Let Your Family Die" - most of us immediately assumed it to be Joker and that Joker knows Batman's identity, because of "Hahaha Joke's On You Batman" on Robin suit, but what if it's Luthor knowing that Bruce has a lot of suppressed anger and grief and playing mental games with him to remind him of similarity of what Joker did to what happens at "Wayne Financial" and force Bruce to go after Superman?

I can see Lex deducing Batman's identity more than I can imagine Joker knowing about it and such manipulating goes in line with the character.

I think it's Luthor or possibly Red Hood. Not way does Joker put stamps on envelopes. But what if that letter comes with a box filled with Kryptonite like the famous would be scene.

I like the idea of it being Lex & he manipulating everything. So yeah if he is, he could know that Bruce is Batman. Or maybe he wants something nefarious from Bruce & by getting him angry he feels he can get Bruce to give it to him, though I can't imagine what that could be.So Lex knowing Bruce is batman makes sense

Luthor wouldn't know anything about Bruce having suppressed anger. He'd know about Bruce's being orphaned, but that's it. It certainly wouldn't be Luthor sending that note. Probably Joker, or maybe Jason Todd (and this depends on whether the Batman scene in Suicide Squad takes place after BvS, in which case it would mean that Joker isn't locked up until after BvS).

I was watching Mr Sunday Movies' insight on the trailer, and he pointed out that Doomsday most likely will be in this film, mainly because there are moments we didn't see or notice (at least I didn't and don't know if anyone else did).

- For one, I and many think that Superman might be controlled by Lex using Zod's blood, but at the same time, thinking about that scene with Superman and Lex; while Superman does look evil, I wonder if Lex is manipulating him, thus adding more and more to Superman that Batman is the enemy.

- I was taking another look at "Superman's solders" and they may not be Superman's to begin with, as he shows disgust when he walks away. Plus, the Batman we see; his suit looks very different, as does his face; maybe he isn't Batman but a nod to the Sons of Batman that might still be around even when Batman hasn't for an unconfirmed amount of time. Would explain why that Batman was pinned down by 3-4 of those guys, when later he is so fast that he takes out numerous like in the Arkham games.

- Perhaps the two scenes of Superman charging and blasting and Batman grappling before being hit are two different scenes because of how they look and their context; there is destruction over Superman and Batman in those shots, but because the actual fight wouldn't cause THAT much damage, it seems that they are fighting something else. Heck, Doomsday might have heat vision, who knows. It would explain the massive damage we see when the Batwing flies over, which is a major increase from MOS; plus, Diana is fighting someone or something, and the Batmobile is trashed in the background.

- Finally, Zod, both body and blood, are still in this movie, so perhaps Zod is cloned by Lex to create Doomsday. It would also explain the scenes where something unstoppable has escaped and caused damage at Lexcorp, from a side building blown up to an uncounted number of bullets on the floor.

So yeah.

I think DC wants magic to be magic. They already got the Alien with Superman.

Though in Marvels defense. Thor, Odin, Frigga, and Loki all still use magic. Yeah they are from space but they use bonafide magic and not some special tech.

As to the Robin suit, who knows. Might be Dick or Jason. The problem of having all the damn Robins.

Thor specifically told Jane that it wasn't magic. It's just some advanced powers. But it's not magic.

Except when Loki talks about learning magic from his mom and of course the fact that Thor's speech or not, everything Loki does comes across the way magic has usually been presented in film, TV, comics and books for decades... But other than that... :sly:

When does he talk about magic? Thor TDW? If so, then that's a script inconsistency between the first and second films. In the first film, Thor explicitly says that it's not magic. And I'm just talking about the movies. I know in everything else, it's magic.

Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.

-Arthur C. Clarke

I can see in both cases Wonder Woman/Thor there may be elements of "magic-tech". I'm quite surprised DC would go hard magic with Wonder Woman.

Seeing as they did their best to try and "science-fy" Superman.

Uh... The Warriors Three, Hogun in particular also call him a "sorcerer" in the first THOR film. And I believe that there are scenes filmed but cut that also are more on the magical side. Not to mention... It's a moot point for me as the mechanism, the explanation of the "science" of Asgard is nowhere to be seen in either film. Frankly, the science as magic thing... Only the fanboy pedants care about it or make a stink. Everyone else doesn't care. I feel it was put in purely to placate the the Evangelical set in America. In other words: Political Correctness.

I forgot about that line and I just watched TDW a couple days ago. I'm going to go reevaluate my opinion on magic in the MCU.

Any theories on who the men with the horses riding in desert are?

Well I think that

The Superman troops kneeling , capturing Batman, is the dream/nightmare sequence that El May reported on a month ago , and that its Bruce's dream. It gives us insight into how he sees Superman as a threat.

The , "You let your family die" note is from Red Hood slash Dick Grayson as speculated and not the Joker.

Superman kneeling to a smiling Lex because Superman is effected by Kryptonite and doesn't have the strength to fight Lex , Hence Lex is smiling sadistically and Superman looks pissed. In essence its a replay of the Superman /Lex confrontation from Superman 1. I don't think he's under mind control, I think he's weakened.

Zod's body is used to create Doomsday as has been rumored.

I suspect Lex himself will have two identities. The public identity which is the quirky young hip CEO saying odd things , and the man behind closed doors who is manipulative cold and calculating .

Good post, Frodo.

I'd like to think the note is from the 'dead' Robin, too. The old Robin suit graffitied by Joker is in the batcave, and obviously this would be a great source of pain and failure for Bruce. Little breadcrumbs like this could be scattered around the place, building up to something in the first solo Batman film.

I only got now that was a Robin suit. At first glance, I thought it was just a Batsuit.

I am totally "meh" on Birthright. I liked Lex, but disliked the "they both were in Smallville" aspect. Also, the whole vegan Superman and "soul vision"? Not a fan. Thought it actually is kinda lifeless all around.

I felt pretty neutral about birthright, as I recall I mostly enjoyed the art and showing superman's travels around the world.

The soul vision was... just dumb. The name mostly. I mean why couldn't that just be part of his supervision as he can see into the electromagnetic spectrum. Brain activity stops, all functions of in the body cease so of course there's a "leaving" of energy.

The vegan thing I didn't mind. But there was no need to even bring it up. Okay he respects all life and doesn't want to eat animals but it was unnecessary. And when do you ever see superman eat? He probably doesn't even need to due to his unlimited diet of delicious sun light.

man zack is cramming in alot stuff again...this is man of steel all over again...stupid dialogs, alot of destruction, tons a backflash and origins story which is completely redundant an all because the main story is very thin.
especially that scene with ben and the wayne logo on his left laying to the ground...people arent stupid...they know who he is playing...is this an introduction?
for what? blind numb and dumb audiences?.
they totally laugh in your faces with things like that. a joke you need to explain aint a good one...and neither is this movie. eventhough it will make alot of money and thats what people arguing and believe that the most financially succsessfull film is also the best.

well aint that cute...but its wrooooooooooong!!!!!!!

Doesnt this movie have enough plot threads? They have to set up the Batman film too?

Also, it better be Jason. Seriously now. Not only that, but you need Dick there to compare him to Jason and how he didnt fall like Jason did (although he wasnt beaten to death now was he?) How Jason threw away everything while Dick is a worthy successor to the mantle.

Pretty much sums up your comment.

you'll be one of the first to complain about what's wrong after you saw the movie

And you haven´t made one single valid argument. At least say something logical instead of just spitting hate.

Repost from another thread:

I see a lot of people saying that Superman is attacking Batman with his heat vision in the trailer. I don't agree with that, you can clearly see the difference between Superman's heat vision and the one that is directed at Batman. Look at the size and colour.

Now compare it with General Zod's heat vision in Man Of Steel.

Notice the similarities?
The way the trailer is cut leads us to believe that it's Superman attacking Batman, but I believe that this is a manoeuvre to throw us off.
Could it be Doomsday, AMAZO or maybe Bizarro?

I think it's part of the nightmare sequence that includes his parent's death/funeral.

The bold bit sums up you're entire post – MOS was fantastic... best CBM so far!
I saw no stupid dialogue in the trailer, how do you know the flashbacks aren't in context?
As regards the Wayne logo... wow, you have a problem with that? Did you have a problem with the letters being knocked off Stark Tower to leave just a letter A for Avengers... I mean we knew that it was their movie... It's obviously to show that it was his building destroyed.
