BvS The BvS Rumor/Speculation Discussion Thread! - Part 3

On any other day, I would agree with everyone else in the mindset that just because Doomsday is in the film, it doesn't mean that Superman will die, let alone when he has Batman and Wonder Woman with him...similar to when they took on an army of Doomsdays on Diana's Island (Superman/Batman: Apocalypse).

The whole thing that's throwing that out of the window for me is the funeral pictures that we've seen of Bruce/Lois/Martha/Perry being present at Smallville's cemetery.

That's like the biggest spoiler someone could have revealed about this film, almost akin to when it was revealed by spy photos that Marion Cotillard wasn't just playing a regular civilian in "The Dark Knight Rises" .

I missed this whole Smallville cemetary scene before. But looking around, it says that Henry Cavill was spotted there during filming that scene as well (Photographer Gregory Zonsius, who took the photos said so.) And these blurry pictures at Smallville doesn't mean Clark will die. There could be other reasons as well.

Ok and this is just me spitballing...this is a future where Darkseid conquers the Earth. With no Justice League...Superman cant fight an army by himself and so maybe leads an army of humans against Darkseid. In this future Batman and Superman are antagonistic towards each other. WW is shown the vision so that she can unite the two and form the Justice League to fight Darkseid

Yeah, I could see that. A world where the remnant of humankind are lead by the mightiest, which would be the superhumans, but no one is united... And it's Diana's mission to "UNITE THE SEVEN"?

Superman has his troops.
Batman has his Sons of Batman
WW her amazons
Aquaman his armies
The Flash has himself
GL has the corps
Cyborg has iPhone 10

If I'm not mistaken though, Christian Bale was reported to have been present when they were filming the funeral scene for "Bruce Wayne" in "The Dark Knight Rises", just to throw people off that it was a funeral scene for Bruce Wayne.

And even if Clark was there, it would only be for Jonathan's tombstone, and Perry/Bruce have no business being there if that's the case.

Ha.

Still... The "Knightmare" stuff has the most questions for me now. I kind of always suspected it was a "vision" that would be where the wider universe connective tissue would be laid. The specifics now are up in the air, with those harpies and the possibility that the Supes there is the real steel deal.

Well, I am not convinced that this means Clark will die

or that Superman will only show up at the end of the Justice League movie (as speculated upthread.)

Clark, Bruce, Perry, Lois...they could be talking about future plans at the end of the movie. Or something we don't know yet.

Believing that Clark will die and Henry is there to throw us off is speculation, an assumption. It's not a huge spoiler.

I highly doubt it too. I think the leaked outline will be true. Superman is presumed dead by the world, and he returns at the end to a grateful world.

I really hope you guys are right. I really want to enjoy this film, let alone the DCEU. Whether Superman is alive or dead at the end of this film will be the deal breaker for me.

But I definitely appreciate your guys's words of wisdom here.

Everything will be alright!

But Henry's under contract.

lol; well just to be clear with everyone, I never thought that Superman would stay dead.

I'm just dead set against him dying at the end of the film.

I'm actually hoping that those rumors/fake script(s)/theories that we've heard about this film, that had Doomsday included, were right since none of them ended with Superman being dead.

I hope they don't kill Superman that would probably ruin my enjoyment of the film tbh.

Ben been at the grave could be a moment between him and Clark maybe Clark tells him the same story he told Lois.

does batman know superman is clark kent? his way of answering clarks questions seems a bit....provocative and i'm wondering why he does so?

It's possible, it's probably something Bruce has investigated from the day he witnessed the fight with Zod.

I think in that scene both knows the other is their costumed opponent. The dialog is too on the nose. Clark is making a rational argument while Bruce is letting loose some over the top anger and sarcasm that none the less does have some accuracy in it. Both men staring the other down they can't see that smarmy Lex Luthor is more than just a *****e avuncular billionaire, but a genius sociopath that is orchastrating the whole thing.

Well, it seems that my source is indeed not.

Last week I shared that Doomsday was in and that's when Wonder Woman shows up in full garb.

And, since people are speculating if CK dies or not, my source told me Superman does not die.

P.s.: I'm on mobile and I'm having a hard time finding my original post to prove my source.

Glade to have you aboard the "vision" train.

If it's still WW's vision there is still the matter of how Superman is acting in it though... There has to be an explanation for that and, I think the duplicate idea us dead now. Question is... Why is Superman acting like a tyrant, having an army, looking so pissed at Batman? If not an "evil twin" then what? Though... Superman has had a history ACROSS MEDIUMS of fallng under the thrall of Darkseid before, both in comics during the Byrne run when Darkseid made him think he was his son, but also in the Timm toon. Maybe that's your explanation? Apokalips mind control?

You got me on board with the WW's/Someone's (Kahina seems to appear in the film) vision as well. Now that the parademons are shown, it can't simply be Bruce's dream.

I like this. I'm buying this theory.

Just what if it's Aquaman who gets this vision via Kahina the Seer?

For those who are not familiar with how parademons look like in the comics. They're green with red oval eyes and wings on the back:

They look the same in BvS, sans armor and with a bit more grasshopper-like legs.

See... This is why I can understand why some feel that the trailer did show TOO much but at the same time, there are now even more questions.

I've been watching a lot of reviews/reactions and loads are saying they showed too much. But what they mean is that we now know how each act will go and no matter how much you disagree with them this is still their opinion and this trailer is gonna hurt the movie a lot because you know their reviews are gonna start out with, "They showed too much in the trailers like Spider man 2".

But just yesterday, after the puzzling sneak peak with captured Batman and evil Superman, I saw people all over the internet saying that they want the trailer to be clear and explain things this time. Well it did, you can't complain now.

And I agree, there's always at least one puzzling thing. And most puzzling one is always tied to that particular desert sequence, it's been like that since the teaser. I'm glad this trailer continued that tradition. :woot:

Really ? To me more questions mean we haven't seen *****.

I was saying that I can understand why people would say that but at the same time we have newer questions. We put to bed speculation about Bizarro and had Doomsday via Zod confirmed... Still questions about the Knightmare sequence which has harpies now. Still nothing about whatever inciting incident that must bring this clash to a head. There is a lot of questions still, even though they did show a lot.
