I'm guessing the branding is Batman doing detective work trying to find out stuff about Superman, like his identity.

I have to be honest... the "glasses as a disguise" gimmick has always been a joke. In this film, if Bruce Wayne is going to be a master detective and ridiculously intelligent, he should have no problem seeing straight through the glasses and knowing right away that Clark Kent is Superman.

I'm still convinced that Bruce knows Clark is Superman at that party (regardless of whether he's already figured it out beforehand or he recognizes Clark as Superman as soon as Clark introduces himself). I was convinced that they both know each other's identities, but I saw some arguments that made me less sure that Clark would recognize Bruce as Batman at the party.

What if the GLC will use many actors, to portray various GL's. This new bloke Amboyer could well be the 'main' GL or prepped for the future, but with a supporting cast of good, A listers, would it really matter? Then... shoe horning into JL where he will be a side character - i'm ok with that. I say that as i feel they will tread lightly with a new GL but use star appeal for GLC to kick start it.
Unless they go the route of making this movie on the cheap and it be more... artsy??? just to be different from the last movie.

There was that meme a while back where Clark Kent was on Facebook and the site automatically used facial recognition to tag clark kent in every picture uploaded of superman....

Kind of shows you how in todays technological era, superman can be found out pretty quickly... esp in the city.

The key word is photo. Superman shouldn't be posing for magazine covers.

I know it has been discussed here a lot. The main reason "the glass disguise" works is that nobody expects Superman to have a secret Identity, because he does not cover his face. If somebody see a guy's face clearly they don't expect him to hide something. People are not looking for Superman's alter ego. Even if they saw Clark's and Superman's pics together most of them (Not Batman:cwink:) just assume they have likeness, not "Clark is Superman ".

Okay... I want to see that meme. That's hilarious.

Amboyer is NOT connected to GL according to imDB....

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2544577/

Yeah, but this is IMDB.

Don't get me wrong... I really don't care who plays Hal Jordan so I have no stake in this one. If it is Amboyer, then great. If it's somebody else, then great.

But again... this is IMDB.

You know it's entirely possible that he isn't directly named in BvS, but instead he has a cameo as a drone pilot, and we get a blink-and-you'll-miss-it shot of his nametag, which happens to say Hal Jordan. So "drone pilot" would be entirely correct... a drone pilot named Hal Jordan, but we don't actually hear him called that.

See, that assumes that the majority of people are stupid, and that's the problem (I say this, mind you, as a misanthrope who does tend to feel like a ridiculous amount of human beings are basically uneducated idiots). I actually sort of liked the added conceit of Clark being a clumsy, awkward coward, because even if people saw Superman in him, they wouldn't expect Superman to be a clumsy, awkward coward. And yet I would, at the very least, expect Clark's journalist co-workers and boss at the Daily Planet to see through it. But they don't appear to be doing that (Clark Kent being a clumsy, awkward coward) in the DCMU.

One thing I'm really glad they did in MoS is that Lois Lane was there while Kal-El was taking on his Clark Kent personality, so she knew from the beginning. I appreciate that a lot.

I still see several negative YT comments (the latest BvS trailer) about Gadot, like she is just a model, she can't act etc.

I don't doubt that. There will always be those saying that, one can only hope that their numbers will reduce. If Gadot deserves it, by doing a good job, of course.

Dan Amboyer has got to be Hal Jordan, I mean come on, he says he likes the color blue, but also everything green, he wears a jacket that looks exactly like the classic Hal Jordan jacket on one of his recent photos, he cannot say anything about his role clearly implying that the names "drone operator" and stuff are a cover for his character, that the name appears ON him at some point?

Not to mention that he has the look, I'd be really blown away if he turns out not to be Hal Jordan.

Given that it's a speculation, I'll post this here as well, as it could be that there's something I missed:

Was rewatching the newest trailer and I've noticed the fire in front of the building when Bats gets out of the batwing and through that window that is not there in the beginning when batwing approaches it, so I think that Alfred taking controls during that first shot is not really what happens, but the trailer is cut that way. I actually have a little theory:

I think that very first shot of batwing (and very first shot of the trailer as well) precedes the batwing gunning down those two thugs and that fire spreads from that pick up truck that gets blown to hell. I also wondered why does Alfred take the controls of the batwing to "drop him to the second floor"? Batman could bring the aircraft in the position and leave it in hovering mode, which we know it has, himself. So, what I believe is the case is that Bats loses control of the batwing (probably due to it being hacked) and it starts gunning down people, so he calls Alfred to pilot it from the cave. The straining expression Bats makes in the previous trailer while batwing is shooting could be him trying (and failing) to take control of it, along with "s**t, this isn't supposed to happen" reaction.

Regarding Ambroyer as GL, I say he seems no worse a choice then Scott Eastwood, who is allegedly gonna be a major character. At least Ambroyer looks the part.

I give him props for milking this moment, but he is not Hal.

lol At that pic of him working out. Not a Gym Jones facility at all.

Amboyer either is Hal Jordan or he's enjoying the publicity he's getting from people who think he is. Also say he is playing someone else, I'd say its likely he's been told to role with the HJ rumours to throw people off the cent.

Still people should keep an open mind and not dismiss this or even say for sure he is Hal. We don't know yet so lets stop acting like we do.

Ambroyer won't be cast as GL till he can deadlift an IMAX camera like Snyder.

I'm pretty sure that's how auditions went. Olga Kurylenko lost the part to Gal Gadot because she couldn't run 1.5 mile in less than 9 minutes.

Henry got cast cuz he was the only one to survive the "catch a bullet with your teeth" section of the audition. Ben is Batman cuz he was the one who actually secretly killed Bin Laden.

Correction... It was the Rock who killed Bin Laden, and that's how he landed the Black Adam role. Remember how he tweeted it out before anyone else knew? He was on the team with Star-Lord and Joel Edgerton.

If Amboyer isn't Hal, he's really enjoying tricking people into thinking he is.

IF he isn't Hal, then he's gotten more exposure than he's ever had over a role that isn't even his. We all know his name now...

Super Hero fans that follow CBMs like a hawk, sure. The rest of the world is ignoring him.

Are you saying that the people who are not looking for Superman's secret identity looks stupid. But how?. They don't expect him to have one. As per MoS movie the folks at Smallville should know that thier neighbor Clark Kent is Superman. Also the Daily Planet employees who are working really close to him.

How many of you believe Dan Amboyer is GL? :D

I keep thinking of the Mamoa tease that went on for so long. I say yes.

Solid choice. Not Affleck, Miller or Fischer caliber as an actor but still good.

Not crazy about the choice if he is GL, however, it could have been a lot worse.
