BvS The BvS Ultimate Cut Thread - Part 3

Nice! I'll have to do that for mine
Real simple. Use a gift card, to gently pry between the metal and plastic at the top or bottom of the case. (there's tabs going under the opening edges it's easier from the top or bottom)
Once they're off they snap back into place

What commentary tracks come with the movie?
NOTHING during the films, but there are nice videos from behind the scenes. WB's never been real good at Film Commentary. I think the only film I have of theirs WITH it is Donner's cut of Supes II

I was really surprised to see Geoff Johns having such a big presence behind the scenes, and it seemed like he was really onboard with the whole thing and all the character stuff. He explained how Superman works in the story and talks about how beautiful the Martha moment is.

7.40 onwards.Really refreshing to hear John's take on the whole thing.

When you link a YouTube video, just paste in the part that comes after the = sign.

I have the Boxed set of Batman films (Batman-Batman & Robin) and I believe they all have commentaries.

But all the other CBM films from WB, I can't really recall others hat had any either.

MOS had that in movie experience thing, which I rather like, and is kind of like a commentary. It's where it pops up in the film, and you can watch off shoot BTS videos that relate to each part of the film, as it happens, kinda thing.

Really wish they did that for BvS, if they weren't gonna do commentaries.

Has Snyder done commentaries for any of is other films?

Mine didn't have that, but then, I have the Bluray/DVD combo and I don't have a Smart tv or Bluray player (Second Screen wouldn't work with Marvel either in other words)

Thanks for posting Vartha. Diane Lane was half right in her analysis of the Martha moment. She was right in that Batman took that opportunity to rescue Martha and gain some sense of redemption for the feeling of powerlessness he has felt when Martha was taken away from him. That has haunted him throughout his life and that was his chance to gain some sort of closure on that.

However, he did not spare Superman because he realized he had a mother. Right before that moment Batman was speaking of how Superman was raised by his parents. He only stopped in that moment because hearing "Martha" made him finally realize how far he had fallen, that he was about to kill someone in cold blood, essentially becoming the monster that had taken his Martha away from him. A monster that he has sworn his life to protect people from.

I think I have the Bluray/3D combo pack. Don't have a 3D TV, but I THINK it was one the 3D Bluray. I might be mistaken, but IIR, all the other features were on the main Bluray disc, and then you can watch the BTS experience one one the 3D, even on a 2D tv.

I'll have to check my discs when I get home.

Yeah I just have the Bluray/DVD/Digi Steelbook I have very little movies where I have a 3D combo too, seeing as I don't know anyone close with a 3D tv set-up lmao

You are right about him realizing he had become the monster that took his parents, but that was only possible if he could empathize with Superman having a mother.
So, yes, he was just speaking about Superman's parents, but in the abstract. They were just ancestral concepts that Bruce had dehumanized as much as he had Superman.
So, when Clark says her name, and Bruce realizes she's a living, breathing, human, mother, she becomes a concrete reality for Bruce, not just an abstract he was projecting onto. That's what she's referring to by Bruce "realizing" he had a mother.

It's actually a necessity for him to have this realization in order for him be able empathize with Superman in that moment, before he can see he is becoming the monster that took his parents.

Did the Steelbook Cover switch last night, it WAS VERY easy

No problem I help where I can. :more:

Yeah, same here. I generally avoid 3D, and have very little interest in even getting a 3D TV myself. But there are a few films where I do own a 3D copy. MOS being one, which I believe was because it appeared to have the most special features.
I believe I have 3D copies of the Amazing Spider-Man films, but that was mainly because swinging with Spidey through the sky scrappers is one of the few things I actually DO want to see in 3D. However, I missed both of them in the theaters, so grabbed the 3D copies so I could eventually get that experience.

What I would really like to see for this new DCEU is a Steelbook case/Library.
Same for Hobbit/LotR films. I'd LOVE to see some kind of shelf for that set of Films

I think my sets are Avengers/the Hobbit Trilogy of the 3D if I every get a 3D player and tv lol

I think its not just Superman having a mother(which he obviously did,an alien mother/father which Bruce referenced)...but more of,a human mother,a mother in danger, that needs to be saved, and alien's last living breath is him begging for his human mother's life.Thats what I thought of it.Overall its a very interesting commentary by Johns.

Yeah. In that very split second, Bruce realized he was Joe Chill.

I agree with this. Batman was hellbent on killing Superman because of his ability to wipe out all of humanity if he felt so inclined. But in his dying breath, all he cared about was having the life of a human saved.

Which is the point I bring up when people say, why doesn't Superman just say "save mom" instead of "save Martha". He says "save Martha" to illustrate to Batman his only care is that of saving a human life. Martha = human name which can't be lost on Batman even in the state that he is in.

That's bizarre. I thought I remembered there being one for MoS so I really expected there to be something for BvS.

Yes, exactly! The former is an abstract in Bruce's mind that he can dismiss. The latter is a concrete, immediate, reality, recognized through the humanity in a dying alien's last breaths.

I don't understand how those Internet "bro's" fail to get that simple scene and the meaning behind it. All they retained from that was that Bruce stopped because Superman said Martha. You have to be extremely daft to completely miss the point and then blame it on bad storyline/filmmaking because you didn't get the deeper layers of that scene.
