BvS The BvS Ultimate Cut Thread - Part 3

I am very surprised no one has tried to intercut the final fight in MOS and the beginning of BvS together yet.

It's been done on YouTube, it fits well together but it's doesn't fit well to watch together if that makes sense?

Do you mean it's a better experience watching them separately even though they fit together quite well?

It's just cool to see where Bruce was during the fight. I wouldn't necerssarily say the fit together quite well. Obviously the BvS version had to be shortened down but they got everything to down to a tee.

Yeah it was done really well, probably one of the best scenes in the movie, I just wondered how they would look spliced together.

perfect!

No sorry didn't explain myself very well, it's jarring cause it's going from one thing to another so it doesn't quite work. When the scenes are cut together it loses focus. I think having them seperate works best because the focus is where it should be in both versions.

Ah yes I get you now. It's sounds like they work better on their own terms then.

I will watch that later on, thanks.

The worst thing I can say about the Nolan movies is it "inspired" WB to use that formula across the entire DCEU.

Sadly, that is arguably a really, really bad thing. Though I suppose one could argue that, sans Dark Knight, WB would have found a different way to make crappy movies.

Just need some images of Lex next to this as well. That'd be awesome.Goddam Lex, they really made you hate him the right way. Villains should be made as something to hate and root against, not just another "cool" character.

This ultimate edition is still movie of the year for me then Apocalypse then civil war.
I don't know if it's because of my love of Batman and my enjoyment of darker films and liking Snyders films and being a follow up to my favourite Superman film. It just hit all the right notes for me.
I also got a kick out of knowing that in this dc universe Batman and Superman both made neck snaps in their first film appearances. Strange but true.

You're only including comic book adaptations in this statement, right? Those can't possibly be your top three films of 2016 overall.

When did Clark Kent / Superman first realize that Bruce Wayne was Batman ?

I like the Ultimate Cut a lot, I think is a good film, the Teathrical cut is a mess; I think WB should've found a midpoint as a definitive version to release on Cinema and all abroad, targeting a 2:45 hr film (same length as The Dark Knight Rises); they could've done this by using the Ultimate Cut up to the point before Martha Kent is kidnapped from the Diner (also by removing the confusing Knightmare scene which looks cool but adds absolutely nothing), and the Teathrical Cut from the point of Martha's kidnapping up until the end; would love a fan edit of this...maybe triming some of the Batman Killing on the Car chase and also from the Batplane outside the warehouse scene.

Lex's party when he listened into Bruce's and Alfred's conversation.

Yeah, we know that Clark is able to listen to conversation Bruce is having with Alfred, which would make him suspicious but then, why does he asks Bruce Wayne questions about Bat-vigilante before that ?

It seemed as if Clark was specifically asking him those questions and had some hidden motive.

Bruce represented another perspective on Gotham and its issues, especially one that had relevancy given his high profile. The angst comes when Bruce gives Clark dismissive attitude.

I liked the fact that Terrio (and Snyder) avoided Superman using his X-ray vision to look behind the Bat cowl to find Bruce Wayne route, instead here he uses his super-hearing and his reporter persona to deduce who he actually is.

I actually did a Supercut of MoS and BvS and It came out perfect. Not an easy task but I did it. It's 5 hours long but I connected all the scenes from the Metropolis fight and moved around a few that from my understanding where a bit missed placed in the original versions. I just wish you guys could see it :hmr: Its perfect.

He asks the questions about the bat vigilante after he first hears Bruce speaking with Alfed, so I assume he put it all together after hearing the conversation and Bruce's intentions for being there.
