As long we have a Bruce meets Clark moment, I'm all in....

I have a few ideas for trailers floating around in the brain...

A Lex/Batman one:

It starts with a shot of the inside of a massive office. You can see lights of a city outside massive windows, but nothing more. The camera pans to one side of the room and there's a figure at a huge desk. The figure can only be seen in shadow at first, but the camera moves in closer and the dim lights outside illuminate the figure of a man, just a bit. He's wearing a business suit and has a bald head (I wonder who? lol). He's looking down at something hidden behind the desk in his hands. As he does this, he speaks:

"Do you remember...what is was like...before he arrived..."

The bald man looks over towards the other side of the room as he says this and then back down at whatever is in his hands. Another voice, a deeper voice from somewhere in the room replies to the bald man:

"He's been here for a while." It's a matter-of-fact, unamused tone.

"Yes, certainly," the bald man replies with a bit of a chuckle, "he was here...hiding from us...Letting us enjoy our free will for a few years more..."

There's a brief silence and the bald man speaks again:

"Isn't that ironic? A creature like that hiding from us. Weaklings that we are..." He chuckles again...bitterly. "I have never felt weak before. Not until he came."

The deep voice replies: "You're afraid of him, aren't you?"

"Yes. Always."

The camera then shows us what the bald man is holding. It's the MOS S shield drawn in blood on a small plank of wood.

"They wrote it in their blood. So desperate for their calls for help to be answered and it was all they had...they drew his symbol in their blood so he would know which building they waited in...for him to find them and take them away from the ones responsible for that same blood. Can you imagine such a thing? Has anyone every done such a thing for you..."

"Maybe." Still unamused.

A small laugh. "Well, he doesn't even need their symbols, does he? He can find them easily. He can see everyone...like a God. And yet...they offer him the kind of love that's written in blood. Many years...I have tried to earn such a thing...and he has it in two short years..."

"I know. He told me the same story."

"It's unnatural, you know. Such devotion."

"I know."

"You're afraid of him too."

Silence follows. The bald man lays the plank of wood with the symbol on the desk and stares towards the other voice.

"You are. We all are. Secretly. Brave men...all afraid of the thing we cannot stop or become. We don't live anymore. We do what he says, Mr. Wayne. And nobody realizes this, but us. Look outside. Look on our very streets and tell me what you see."

"You know what I see."

"Yes! An alien symbol! Those people out there...those weak, ignorant people use an alien symbol in place of a human word..."hope." Why is that, Mr. Wayne? Why do they call out to him instead of their own kind? Instead of me? Instead of you?"

"You know why."

"Because no one can save them but him, isn't that it? Well...I remember the days when our kind pulled ourselves out the abyss and we didn't have to sacrifice half of my city to earn the privilege! Something happened, Mr. Wayne and it must be stopped..." He's interrupted by the other voice:

"I know what happened! You don't think I saw his triumphant introduction?! I saw it all..."

"You saw humanity lose its place as the dominant species on this planet that day, Mr. Wayne! That's what we all saw and no one knows it but us."

"And so we should stop it, shouldn't we?"

"You knew it that day and yet we've allowed it to go on far too long. They need you, Batman. They need us to be what we were before he came."

"I know they do." He sounds resigned and sorrowful.

"He trusts you?"

"Yes"

"Well then, Mr. Wayne. We have a common problem and an obvious solution, don't we? Is that not why you agreed to come here?"

"Of course."

"Then tell me," the bald man gets up from his seat as he says this and extends his hand to the other figure who is now in view and has the distinctive silhouette of bat ears and a long cape illuminated by the city lights, "has there ever been a time when men fought a God and won?"

The batman shakes hands with the bald man and says:

"There will be."

The final shot is the two of them staring off into the city's night skyline through the huge office window.

We never really see the context of this. Is Bruce really with Lex? And if he is, why? What is his relationship to Superman? Is one of them tricking the other? It raises more questions than answers and perhaps would work better for a teaser.

This is deep mrs.Kent, very deep.

 

[Bren]

Close up of Diana. "First an alien now a vigilante. Makes you wonder what else this world has to offer."

Batman: I guess flying women dressed as colourful Greek prostitutes...
Superman: Batman, that's just rude! Ma'am, could you please take a deep breath?
Batman: So you're at least partly human, Superman.

Awesome music plays...

Camera pans around a partly rebuilt Metropolis. There is quite clearly an audience assembled around a Huge Superman statue.
[Voiceover] There have always been sacrifices.

Cuts to Clark Kent standing on a pavement, probably looking to cross the road, in a trench coat, a hat and carrying an umbrella as it pours heavily. He looks up into the dark skies as the scene cuts out.
[Voiceover] But does it inspire you.

Cuts to Lois Lane and Perry White looking through an office window as the Daily Planet Globe is put back on the building across the street.(they obviously are in some kind of a temporary establishment)
[VO]because the trick is to get back up again...

Cuts to Martha sitting in the bedroom looking through an album. She appears pensive.
[VO] ...no matter how bad things get.

Cuts to Diana getting out of a car (in civilian uniform) which cuts to Bruce Wayne and Alfred standing in the Batcave along side the Bat Mobile.
[Vo] We don't need saviours. We need heroes.

Cut to Black. Music softens and fades.
[VO]But most importantly...

We see Lex Luthor for the first time... Bald... A slight smile breaking out as he says...
[Lex]...We need to take a stand.

Music ends suddenly.

Cut to close-up of the afterburner as it charges on.... Lingers...The Batmobile roars to life and exits screen.

Cuts to BvS title card

Post title card...

We get our first proper shot of Batman (imagine the 300 'This is Sparta' scene)
Superman is getting up from his knees to a standing position and turning around as Batman, visibly shabby himself, prepares to deliver an upper cut.

[Batman] Clark, I want you to remember...

Just before the blow actually connects with Superman's chin it cut to the release date card... 2016!!!

 

[Mrs. Wayne]

I like the rumored idea which is speculated to show at Comic Con.

It's just rumors but in this small tease they show the "You are not alone" message being shown on different monitors in the bat cave while Zod's voice is heard in the background. As the camera pans out, you see the back of Batman staring at the message. He is in full costume but isn't wearing the cowl. The camera stops panning out so you can see most of the Bat cave and The Batman. As the message dissipates from the screens in the bat cave, Batman puts on the cowl and the camera moves to his face and he's scowling menacingly into the camera and then the BvS logo slowly appears and that's that!

It's probably not true, but it sounds cool.

Teaser trailer:
Similar to the two MOS teasers in which Jonathan and Jor-El give monologues about what they feel their son should aspire to be.

Teaser trailer #1 would be from Superman's POV and how he doesn't want Batman's vigilante justice in Metropolis

Teaser trailer #2 would be from Batman's POV and how Superman is an alien who shouldn't be trusted.

Teaser trailer #3 would be from Lex's POV and how he's sick of the both of them and they will die and he will RULE the world. Mwa haha haha ha!

Good ideas but instead of from Superman's POV, do it from Lois'. Let them trailers be about how others view Superman and his impact.

I want the end of the trailer to show Batman bruised and bloodied and Superman looking unscaved, when Batman starts to reach for a glowing substance in his pocket. Superman looks worried

TEASER:

(Silence)
A morning ariel shot over a sunny, but musky Kent Farm as a black limo is shown pulling up alongside the Kent farmhouse.

-Quick shot of Lois and Clark staring at a computer screen at the Daily Planet. Lois sitting down in her chair; Clark hovering to her left

(fade)

Distanced shot; ground level of a silhouetted man in a suit knocking on the door of the Kent farmhouse.

-Quick transition to Clark Kent walking out of the Daily Planet, smiling as he walks alongside a busy sidewalk of the Metropolian working people


-Fades back-

Same ground level shot. Martha Kent opens the door. She exchanges a few words with this mysterious man. We can't hear what they're saying. He hands her something. We see them handshake. The man turns, lifts his hat off his head to Martha and gets in the back of the black limousine as it drives off.

-Fade-

-Clark comes through the front door, smiling

(Voiceover; Martha Kent)

Martha Kent: Clark! You're back!

-They hug-

Martha Kent: Oh, before I forget, some man came by the other day. He gave me this (hands something to Clark.)

-Closeup of a confused look on Clark's face as he reads a business card that reads "WAYNE ENTERPRISES."

Martha Kent (smiling): Let me guess, Clark. Just a friend?

-Closeup back to Clark's face. Still staring. He looks down; then looks over at Martha.

Clark Kent: No, Mom......

-Quick transition of the black limousine driving away, kicking up dust as it disappears in the distance

(Voiceover; Clark)

Clark Kent: ......not this time.

nextnolan, here were some trailer ideas if you were interested still ^

How about this... Without any spoken words and the right music could make this very effective.

We open up to see a man in a business suit holding a breifcase walking down the street to his job in Gotham. We then cut to a closeup of his briefcase sitting on a desk when in the background we see him in an office talking to his boss. The conversation is a sombre when the boss let's him go and we see his antics as he pleads for his job back. We then cut to another closeup of a briefcase this time on a table and in the background we see the man telling his wife that he had been let go and we see her anguish. We remain on the closeup of the table but the briefcase is replaced by a stack of envelopes with an open letter on top that read in large bold print "eviction notice". Still remaining on the table we then see a package on the table and in the background this time we see the man kiss his wife and raise the hood of his jacket. We then are following the man run and he turns down an alleyway. The camera is a is on the ground looking up at the man as he frantically scurried down the alley. The man then looks up in the sky and we the audience see that the Bat Symbol has been ignited and through the symbol we see a dark blot slowly growing and a few seconds later we see that it is batman with his arms fully extending the sides of his cape. He eventually descends completely on the shot and we black out.

The trailer is used to set up this Batman. He is as described "tired and weary" and has no concern for the circumstances of the criminal only justice.

Here's my take on a teaser:

The Superman emblem flares up on the screen and then morphs into a stop sign, which then fiercely slams down on a poor resoultion pic of Batman jumping across a rooftop. We cut to a brief glimpse of a televised debate between Lois Lane and Lex Luthor.

Luthor: Irrespective of your reputation, Ms. Lane, I must question your motives in defending this, er, th-
Lane: I have a pretty good idea of what you'd imagine my motives to be, Luthor.

A newsreader talks over footage of Superman ascending the steps of the Capitol
Newsreader: As Superman finds himself in the hands of what has been described as a dubiously assembled tribunal, debate rages across the globe: Should we put ourselves in the hands of a man who, as described by Amanda Waller, is a threat to the safety of every man, woman and child on the planet. And what of the Batman? The Kryptonian's arrival has once again ignited a long running conflict between many conspiracy theorists and tin-hatted men, asking one very pertinent question: Did Batman ever really exist?

Intertitle: In 2016, a war begins

We see a mechanised creation of Luthor's, rising to shoot at the Capitol, and then being lurched off its feet as the Batmobile shoots a projectile missile at it.

Intertitle: Between those who wear masks

We get a quick flash of an elevator door opening to reveal the hardened faces of Lex Luthor, Mercy Graves and Amanda Waller

Intertitle: And those who are them

We see Batman and Superman staring each other down in Crime Alley.

Lex stands at his window and stares down a hovering Superman. He looks up, and the moon illuminates his cold, unfeeling eyes
Luthor: If you're the American dream, then the American dream is my nightmare.
Superman gives a brief but intense flare of his laser vision, and flies off into the night.

We see Perry White and Jimmy Olsen looking at a side by side comparison of Batman and Superman, considering what their next headline should be.
Olsen: I got it! Dawn of the Supermen?
Perry White smiles.
White: Nah, I've got something else.

Intertitle: Dawn of Justice.

i was thinking maybe lex blinks twice and the screens got out (kind of like a more advanced version of the samsung smartstay thingamajig) and reveal a view of metropolis. Bruce walks in, they shake hands, and i don't know, supes flies by?

Lois Lane in Gotham, meets Bruce Wayne at Wayne Enterprises for an interview. Wayne seems in a chipper mood and greets Lois in a friendly manner.
Clark is with her learning the ropes, and when Wayne notices the smile slips a second, which Clark notices. "And you are?"

Fade to black and back into frame you see Batman from behind, standing in the rain on the top of a building. Out of the low cloud Superman drops to hover in front of him, about 3metres above the roof.

Superman: "So you're real then"

I can't think of Batman's response, if any, but if he does, I'd then have Superman's eyes start glowing red and then cut to black.

Not at all. There's also a delightful scene I've got planned for the international trailer, where Superman uses his laser vision to incinerate a shuriken that's been curiously fashioned into the shape of a bat.
