Captain Marvel The Captain Marvel box office prediction thread

Well....SOME PEOPLE would rather spend time with their families on vacations....:oldrazz:
But their families will be in the cinema watching CM so if they want to be good family people they better join them! :cwink:

It appear that the haters out there texting photos of empty theaters claiming that they are CM showings.

So, who was the leading candidate that the fans wanted to play Carol?
Charlize Theron was one. Yvonne Strahovski, Jessica Chastain, Kate Winslet, Margot Robbie (pre-Harley I think), Katheryn Winnick and, yes, Brie was in there.

Ronda Rousey....LOL.

The awesome Flick probably remembers better than I do.

Disney is inflating numbers. I think they buy tickets so they can make more money or something.....

Emily blunt was up there too. Maybe the top choice for many at the time.

Right. I meant to include her. She was one of my favs. Terrific actor and after Live Die Repeat....oh hell.....

Blake Lively I think...

True. Hopefully she lands a role in future with so many more CBM opportunities likely to come up

Sort of. She was forced by Fox to turn the role down.

Emily Blunt and then a bunch of uninspired choices like Strahovski, Theron, Winnick...

Though I've heard Strahovski was good in the Handmaid's Tale. Maybe Marvel could cast her as Moonstone.

Except for Rhonda, there are some interesting choices there.

Any other characters from the comics these same performers might be right for?

Considering that Emily turned down the Black Widow.
I don't know if she is interested in these types of roles.

Well they said above she was actually forced to turn it down due to schedule conflicts, ...she's doing the live die repeat sequel that seems pretty close. (Isn't that based on a manga?)

The impotent incels who have been trolling every Captain Marvel article have shown up on sites like Yahoo and Variety to spew their venom. The ones on Yahoo are trying to spread lies about CM's box office to people who aren't obsessed haters. A new line of attack is that it was "projected to make $200 million" before they started their trolling. They're also posting fake reviews in comments sections. Pathetic little manbabies. :yuk:

Some of this stuff is basically parody at this stage. I guess it's partly a function of the way online culture works right now. It's designed to amplify everyone's voice to a certain extent, which can be good or bad, but it leads to this thing where there is simply no end to the quest for attention.

If they started that today, then it’s hugely misleading. Going to the first show on a Monday doesn’t get many butts in seats unless it’s a major holiday or summertime.

The IMAX showing I went with my friend today only had maybe 10 other people in attendance. But it was the first show on a weekday, go figure.

I heard that Alita Battle Angel had a pretty huge drop this weekend.
Which is ironic, since the haters wanted people to see Alita instead of CM.
Anybody have any actual numbers on how Alita did this weekend?

They started it since Friday
