There's NO WAY Disney would buy tickets through Fandango. I got (2) $25 Fandango cards for Xmas and I still haven't used them because they want to charge $2.20 a ticket. I haven't had a chance to think about how to get around that, but $2.20?!?!?!

Does that make me sound cheap....I'm so embarrassed....LOL.

BTW, I just now got a chance to watch Bill Maher from last Friday. Is that a Nine Inch Nails T-Shirt I see John Heilemann wearing?? Coincidence???? I don't think so. This is far left conspiracy designed to prop up the box office for Captain Marvel and now HBO is complicit. I've got to log on to Guys and Geeks or whatever that website is. Well good for the movie. It's definitely going to end up doing really well.

Certainly surprised. I mean a pretty solid origin movie. Though didn't think it was as strong as Ragnarok or Guardians 2. But hey, good on those that are enjoying and going out to see it. Solid movies deserve their successes.

Gotta say, I'm not yet convinced $400mil is a lock. A billion WW seems pretty set, but $400mil domestic? I think there's still a slight chance it falls just under it, as it seems to be following a trajectory very close to (though still barely above) GotG2. Depending on how much wind each of the upcoming releases in the next 3 weeks takes out its sails (expecting Us and Shazam to perform above expectations), I feel like a high $390's finish is still on the table.

Yeah, I suppose that boost will probably put it over the edge, but I'm now doubting it will surpass Wonder Woman's domestic gross. $400mil is the realistic goal to root for now, imo.

I'm sure it will be and that it will see at least some level of boost as a result. I plan to watch it again just before IW and I doubt I'm alone in that.

Marvel will keep CM around until End Game, which will help boost CM's box office when it comes out. $400+ million is a lock IMO.

Well its currently 18m ahead of where THG was after 10 days, its closest comparison as both were March openings, THG at 152m OW, CM at 153m. THG ended up at 408m domestic, if the comp holds, 400m should be a non issue.

My official prediction for Captain Marvel’s Final domestic and WW Total:

$400-420 million domestic

$600-750 million foreign

For a BO total of 1.0 - 1.17 billion worldwide

Wonder Woman had good legs week to week. CM seems to be doing better than many thought on its second week. I think the goal for execs is for CM to beat WW both domestic and WW BO totals. No easy feat but plausible...

Edit: CM is only $60 million behind WW’s WW total! Marvel will beat DC AGAIN!

I suppose the real question is does CM cross a billion and does it surpass BP’s foreign BO total? I don’t see it grossing what BP did Domestically but WW it has a shot at matching or even surpassing BP foreign only

Well, FFH is going to blow up like crazy. First post EG MCU flick...yeah. A billion easy, so long as it is decent. Endgame, for what it's worth, will have NO ceiling. It simply needs to stick the landing, and it's a lock for a potential 2 billion worldwide. CM makes it to a billion, that will be great. Even Wonder Woman didn't hit that height!

The voice of reason strikes again. I'm not 100% sure either. It doesn't REALLY matter that much. It did really well at the box office; over performed is the word that comes to mind, helped open the doors (hopefully) for other women, and the sequel is an absolute no brainer. The latter two are the most important to me. I've often wondered why we (and I include myself in the "we") get so invested in these milestones. I mean, 398M isn't really any different from 400M and whether it makes more than WW at the DOM box office isn't something we should be emphasizing. They both did really well and we should all be pleased about that.

Maybe we'll get a Hela movie starring Cate. Fin would totally lose it. I'd pay to see what she'd do for an Avatar. LOL.

Captain Marvel is on track to cross the $700M mark at the international box office. It will become the third-highest grossing solo superhero movie overseas (behind Aquaman & Iron Man 3).
