Captain Marvel The Captain Marvel box office prediction thread

Really adding up on those top non-China overseas markets now. Very impressive.

The old rumor was Ike Perlmutter was against green lighting projects like black Panther and Captain Marvel, now both had huge debut films. Bob Iger has to see when it comes to Marvel media, Feige is the star to point the ship towards.

Once it reaches 900 million, how long will it take to close the deal and will it be losing any screens soon?
It'll probably lose some screens next week when Dumbo is released then even more the week after with Shazam. It should still be in most theaters for at least another month though. I have a feeling itlli still be in theaters when Endgame is out

And dump Perlmutter while you’re at it!

Perlmutter needs to go forever under his reign the Marvel TV has put out some brand damaging stuff. Almost instantly the moment he got relegated to the tv verse they started making garbage from hiring then rehiring whats his face to run iron fist and inhumans
Perlmutter should form a dream team with Kevin Tsujihara, Amy Pascal, Tom Rothman, Avi Arad, Scott Buck and Brett Ratner.

The upcoming release schedule is daunting...

3/22: Us
3/29: Dumbo
4/5: Shazam & Pet Sematary
4/12: Curse of La Llorana

All nationwide releases. I think CM will have another good weekend this week, but it's gonna start dropping hard after this.

I'm guessing $1.175B territory.

It really must be hilarious to be able to see this whole saga unfold from Feige's point of view.

All the skepticism about various things that has gradually dissipated. A lot of those behind-the-scenes conversations will never be a part of the public record, I suppose, but it's rather mind-boggling to consider how many of them there must have been over time.

I loved Daredevil, Punisher, Luke Cage and Season 1 of Jessica Jones. Their character building is even superior to the MCU movie verse. Especially Daredevil. Iron Fist season 2 was decent as well. I haven’t watched any of Runaways and Cloak and Dagger so I cannot comment on those.

Back on topic. $400 million domestic is a lock. A billion worldwide is a lock too. CM is killing it. Also it’s a Marvel film of course we are going to compare it to DC. And why the heck not? Makes bings more interesting. Marvel vs DC forever. Until they merge lol

I think it'll still do fine most of next week. Us will probably lead the way, but Captain Marvel should be in 2nd until Dumbo comes out next weekend. Then a lot of schools are on Spring Break, so that could give it a bit of a boost still.

Oh boy i cant wait for that Carol & Thor interaction in EndGame.
I trust the Russos will do a good job.

Im seeing EG April 24th and i cant wait.

Us will easily take over this week, but I think CM (and Us) might do better than expected next week, as I'm not yet convinced Dumbo will be a winner.
