The Catwoman/Selina Kyle Casting Thread - Part 2

I always imagined Catwoman/Selina being exotic looking, which definitely means foreign to me. lol

Take for example this mexican actress here, she has that look imo, but can't speak a lick of english. Ana de Armas has this look. As does Lorenza Izzo and Eiza Gonzalez. I'd be cool with any of them and to a lesser extent Hudgens.

If they going whitebread again, then Samantha Robinson would be kinda cool.

Catwoman doesn’t have to be white, but her being portrayed as anything other than American suggests a misunderstanding of her character. She lives and breathes Gotham in the same way Bruce does. She’s no outsider, she’s a product of the city.

Yes, and the actresses named above with the exception with the full mexican gal can play her. By casting EIza Gonzalez I'm not expecting Selina to all of a sudden celebrate cinco de mayo if that is your concern. lol

I didn't even consider Vanessa Hudgens for this role yesterday, but after hearing about this rumor I'm getting more into it by the second, to the point where I'm gonna be disappointed if it isn't her.

Honestly... yeah, I think she could pull it off.

Based on what I saw in the clips from Gimme Shelter and Polar, the drama side of Selina wouldn't be a problem at all for Vanessa Hudgens IMO.

Yeah, Pattinson has gotten given Oscar level performances for two films now on top of all the other great character work he's done. I don't know if Hudgens is on that level based on the work she's done. That said, Matt Reeves got two incredible performances from monkey Andy Serkis, so I'll be fine with Hudgens since he's behind the camera.

To play devil's advocate, Hudgens hasn't been given a lot of material to work with in the roles she's played. Catwoman would probably be the meatiest role of her career.

I'm not familiar with Gonzalez but yeah, I'd rather Catwoman be played by an actress of the same caliber as Pattinson. Hudgens looks the part but that's the only thing she's got going for her.

There are some DC characters that I could see her playing, but Selina Kyle is not one of them.

Whether or not Vanessa Hudgens has a lot of range (I'm not saying she doesn't, I have no idea), she'd be the best fit for Catwoman of any of the actresses that have portrayed her in the past.

Hathaway could've been a great Catwoman in the right hands. Unfortunately, she was working for Nolan.

Hands down. And she's a testament to the fact that it is pivotal that whoever you cast as Catwoman has serious chemistry with the Batman actor of the film. So whoever lands the role, be it Kirby, Gonzalez, de Armas, Hudgens or someone else, will hopefully have chemistry tests with Pattinson prior to landing the part.

I love Pfeiffer's Catwoman, but she's so different from her comic counterpart that I'm not sure she even counts as an adaptation of the character.

The best big screen Catwoman doesn't exist yet, in my opinion.

- Claire Foy
- Riley Keough
- Margaret Qualley (might be too young)

If they are searching an exotic looking Catwoman Adria would be the perfect fit. She is in the age range for Pattinson and she already went into action for several movie roles (6 Underground for Michael Bay and Marvel Movie Morbius).

Another good choice would definitely be Vanessa Kirby. Like Adria she is little unknown and for DCEU castings they went all the time for unknown actors. So finger crossed for this girls.

Kirby was in Mission Impossible and the new Fast/Furious film, on top of The Crown, not sure I'd call her unknown haha.

Yeah, Kirby is hardly an unknown. However she's not exactly a household name yet either IMO, though her star is definitely on the rise.

I really hope they get an actress rather than an eye candy, like RP's talent is pretty well known in the industry and those who keep an eye on the art/indie films, they need to get a strong actress
