Who's the talk show host, btw?Aubrey Plaza. And despite what some on here talk about limited acting range, she was extraordinary on Legion.

Even on Legion (which is the only place I saw her in) she kinda verged on being one-note. Heck, the way she played Lenny in most scenes of season 3 was pretty much the same way she played Farouk, just with different dialogue. I don't think she's a bad actress at all, I just think that next to the likes of Pattinson, Wright and Jonah I'm not sure she can give Selina the depth that character needs. She's one of those actresses that only plays different versions of herself.
I'm not sure I get the appeal of De Armas beyond her being pretty. Does she have acting chops? I'd be surprised if she ends up being Catwoman, particularly if they want someone more well known.
Exactly what I just said on a previous page. She's been in one movie that I know of where she played a 1-dimensional AI character that required barely any acting talent at all. And she's not American either. Beyond her face, I don't get why so many people want to see her as Catwoman.
She's in Rian Johnson's upcoming Knives Out, but has barely been featured in the trailer, especially since that movie has a relatively star studded cast. So she'd have to be really strong of an actress to make an impact in that movie.
As mentioned before, Selina has that rare versatility which allows her to easily transcend her lowly origins and blend in with the upper crust. She's classy as hell with movie star looks to boot! In that regard at least, de Armas would certainly be a great fit for the role. Plus, with education systems failing the world over, I imagine she falls under the umbrella of what many consider PoC. Not 100% sold on her acting chops just yet, but I do think she shows promise.

I already know Selina can look good in a dress.
I am talking more about the energy or attitude she has as a character. Armas doesn't fit that to me, no matter how hot she looks.
She's more of a Talia to me than a Catwoman.
Son, if you look at reviews for Knives Out, she is regarded as the standout in a group filled with great actors. Also, showing more of her character would spoil it. She also just finished working with two auteurs back to back (Oliver Assayas and Andrew Dominik), not to mention beating out multiple actresses for that role in Bond. I also don't understand why she gotta be american to play Catwoman, kinda weird check box for me, since our Batman is a lanky british dude. lol Eh. To each their own.
Now, if you still feel angry about her for whatever reason, we can meet up ''Roadhouse'' type style by a lake. I'll be waiting.

I'll wait to reserve further judgment on her until Knives Out comes out. As for the non American thing, the only reason I mentioned that is because of her foreign accent. I know Pattinson can do a believable American accent though.
IDK what Roadhouse means but there's no need slug things out over this.![]()
De Armas obviously has talent, and is on the rise. There's a reason she's the most obvious choice for Catwoman.
Well, she got rid of her accent to play Monroe, according to set reports. Also, isn't Selina part latina in some of them comics? And what really is an american accent now in this melting pot that we call america or in this case fictional american city named gotham city?
See, when I read or hear some folks talk about ''American Accent'' it just means that the person wants them to sound white, to me. Again, I'm not saying you're saying that, but I always get some kind of kick out of it. My latino friends who are born and raised here, but don't sound like ''Larry Whitmore'' from across the street. lol
Yet, I'm willing to bet your latino friends at least sound like they were born in America. Saying it's because people want these characters to sound white is dumb.
Ana is the best part of 2049 aside from the technical qualities. She was also fantastic as a femme fatale in Knock Knock alongside Keanu Reeves.Exactly what I just said on a previous page.
