I want to see kind of a fresh take. In a way that The Winter Soldier was. It felt different from The Avengers tonally. Their effects were more practical in some ways.
I always wanted a more realistic Superman, and one that we can relate to more, not like in Justice League (but I'm not in any way dissing the movie, because I liked it and liked how Superman was portrayed), I'm just saying as long as he isn't completely happy-go-lucky and is still grounded, I'm good.
I hope this time they use less CGI, might be wishful thinking, but using an actual cape to flap in the wind might make it seem more realistic.
Some elements in Snyder's Superman feel realistic, minus the CGI cape, and some of the flying effects to an extent. I want it to feel real when Superman lands, or when he's hovering in the sky. Less CGI, and cut-aways to the real thing.
I still want them to continue that story of how the world reacts to Superman. We got the cellphone footage, which I kind of wish we got something like that in MOS. BvS did a lot better showing the world reacting to Superman, and the media discussing the controversy of Superman. In MOS, we essentially got the military reactions. I wanted to see the people in Metropolis react to Superman's presence.
I want to see Clark Kent, and see Superman challenged and have his limits tested. A story about how he can be a beacon of hope, do the right thing and fight evil. Need some kind of villain to do that. I'm willing to give Eisenberg's Luthor another shot, as long as they do a fresh take on the character, and tone his personality down.
Gradually, I would like to see a Bizarro at some point. Best to be a side-villain though. We already sort of got an evil Superman, and unless the Snyder cut that "doesn't exist" included more of that, then they can scratch that off the list. But I always wanted to see Superman fight an evil version of himself, or just do that in a JL sequel. Save Darkseid for last though. Always involve Luthor though. I'd say bring Brainiac, have those two merge together as the only human Brainiac actually admires.
Take Superman far in space, time-travel back to Krypton maybe with Lois. Maybe Brainiac would be the main baddie. That's like one of the comics I read a long time ago, but can't remember the issue. I think they could portray Brainiac well if they do it right, only I think they'd have to make some more sense of the character. Maybe Brainiac should be part-being, rather than just a machine. The problem I've had with the character is that he is a machine, but how can he have feelings, and hate, or even get revenge? TV's Smallville version for instance. I loved James Marsters' Brainiac, but still wondered how and why he could just be so...understanding of hatred. It's just he hates everything about humanity, but hopes to rebuild Krypton to make a better world. He's a machine though.
At this point, I'd be game for Brainiac. I'd just want to see a Superman movie where the story isn't solely about Brainiac, but is also about Superman, his daily job at the Daily Planet, life with Lois, and dealing with Lex Luthor (maybe he runs for president to win people's trust back?)...it should be about that, and not just all-Superman battling artificial intelligence. Brainiac isn't human which is the problem. But make him human-ish, have personality, be full of hatred, intimidating, hard to defeat. His plan should be to rebuild Krypton maybe, or just destroy Earth. It should be something bigger, and not just to gain knowledge in the universe. An intimidating voice is important.
This way, he can be totally different from Ultron. Not a misguided robot. I wouldn't worry or think people would compare it. Maybe just maybe, I'd consider they have Brainiac creates forms, liquid forms that shapeshift into people.
I liked Superman: Unbound, the only problem was it felt almost meaningless. Superman battling a machine that only cares about gaining knowledge. Wasn't a huge threat from what I recall. Just mild. He took one part of Metropolis. In the end, it was a machine Superman could defeat. But the machine wasn't capable of thought or feeling.
Once again though, if it ever happens. It may not. The sequel.

Or another Justice League film.
