The Clinton Thread II - Part 2

Bottom line, when I try to close my eyes and envision "President Trump"...I just cannot see it. It would be an utter mockery of the presidency on a daily basis. It would truly be Idiocracy come to life.

It'd be entertaining as F*** if it were fiction, but when I try to...just for a moment, engage with it as a potential reality, my mind just draws a blank. It still seems impossible to me, and I don't even believe Trump actually wants the job. He loves the idea of being President, sure, but I just cannot picture how he'd function in that role day to day without completely losing his mind. He'd be miserable.

Any of the other Republican candidates would've been cruising to victory in light of the latest development, but my gut is still saying that Trump will still not be able to win that Electoral map and he'll go down as the worst candidate of all time who still couldn't beat a historically unpopular Democratic candidate even after the mother of all October surprises.

Kasich voted for John McCain, instead of Trump or Clinton. I saw new poll showing Trump ahead by 1 point, which means Clinton lost anywhere between 9 and 14 points from last week, which is a huge drop in the polls, I can not imagine this email situation means that much to put Trump in the lead, and wonder if the new allegation that Trump is under FBI investigation for a secret server with links to Russia will come to light in time to make a different, it is funny, the FBI announced their investigation into Hillary's emails but nothing had been publicly said about the investigation into Trump and this link.

I'm honestly voting for Clinton just to keep Trump out of office.

Frankly, she could be elected president and then promptly impeached and I wouldn't really care all that much. I'd still rather take President Plain Toast Kaine over President Drumpf.

We needed another forgotten president sooner or later. He'll be in good company with Arthur, Fillmore, and Hayes. :p

There is a sick part of me that wants to see just how crazy things get with Trump as president. My fear though is that I'll get to yell I told you so from the smoldering rubble of our once great nation (which makes that decidedly less satisfying).

The poll that has Trump +1 is one that previously had Clinton at +12. As such its a poll that has consistently been an outlier so we shouldn't draw too many conclusions until more polls are in. Other polls seem to indicate that while there has been a tightening it hasn't caused a big shift in polling. The main issue now may be that all of the press could result in a lack of enthusiasm which could impact turnout.

I'm almost right there with you and ready to say "f*** it", but yeah. Things have already been crazy enough with this election, I'd still much prefer the whole thing serve as a cautionary tale of what almost happened vs. being the tipping point where everything went to hell.

Republicans being conservatives, on principal never learn from their mistakes. They would elect Trump, have him all but destroy the country, and then elect him again.

This isn't over.

I read President Obama and Michelle Obama have unfollowed Hillary Clinton on Twitter. Don't know if that's true.

Liberal groupthink is quite fascinating. Not sure how most of you will deal with Trump smoking her in a few days. She shouldn't of beat Bernie and I don't believe she actually did w/out help from the Dem/Clinton machine. Bernie would have in turn smoked with a capital SMOKED Trump in the general... but it is what it is.

Trump isn't smoking anyone. I won't rule out a win, but it will be by the skin of his teeth if he does pull off a week. Also, if you look at the actual data, a Bernie win was never going to happen.

But if Trump does win, honestly, America's image will never be the same again.

If there are enough people to elect that sick racist piece of human garbage, maybe it's time to move.

Democrats seem bizarrely skilled at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Bernie may not have won, but the deck was stacked against him from the beginning.

By that logic, she should've been the nominee 8 years ago. Also, they were really, really bad at stacking the deck, considering how long Bernie's campaign went on. I mean goodness, the party was just as against Trump getting the nomination, and look what happened.

Of course it was. As it would be for anyone who wasn't actually a Democrat until about a year ago going up against someone who's been a lifelong Democratic stalwart.

He however has graciously accepted that fact, and is now fighting for the greater good after getting Clinton to add some of his policies to her platform. His followers on the other hand, I don't know? A lot of cutting off their noses to spite their faces I fear.

Yeah, he was not a dem. The DNC still should have been neutral. The lack of ethics is a problem. The DNC and her camp worked together from the beginning.
Do I think the GOP would do the same thing? Absolutely, probably worse.

However, the Dems needs to get off their holier than thou high horse.

Do you understand what the acronym DNC stands for? Democratic National Committee. They are a private organization and if they choose to put more effort into someone who has been a big party for the majority of their political career as opposed to someone who just joined the party they have every right to do so. Bernie lost the popular vote, therefore, he did not get the nomination.

I have a bad feeling... I really bad feeling...
