The Clinton Thread II - Part 2

More then anything this hurts down ballot races. At most she loses like 1-2% when you factor in swing voters and people just not showing up

Yeah this isn't changing the outcome of the general, maybe just one or two down ballot races is swing states and maybe a state was close that she never should have been close in anyhow (AZ, TX). She definitely made a smart choice to get ahead of this immediately and requesting the FBI release all information to the public now (likely because she knows what they have and it's likely nothing). That alone will kill the story for anyone outside the people that were never voting for her anyhow. The only difference is now you may have a few people that feel motivated to vote that were planning on sitting it out.

I wouldn't be so sure... the race is more fluid than ever. We live in the day and age of instant info.. every hour in this thing is going to count now. I'd hate to be a legit undecided voter right now.

Bottom line I think this is absolutely become a value referendum vote... people always say "it's the economy stupid" but this will be the first morality vote of a pres. election in our lifetime I truly believe.

It's not changing the presidential race same as how the last story about her emails didn't change the election. No one cares about the email story except people that weren't voting for her and it's hilarious that Republicans even think anyone cares. If you ask the average person on the street to explain the email story they wouldn't be able to.

And also anyone still undecided in this election shouldn't be voting in the first place.

To me, that is kind of the problem. If they understood it, this wouldn't mean much of anything and I wouldn't be worried at all.

The guy who runs real clear politics would disagree with you. I think he's basically nailed it on whoever can stay out of the spotlight the longest will win this thing with undecideds. Right now Hilary is losing the optics game because of the headlines... regardless of whether she is even remotely involved in any of the new emails that have surfaced.

I think the worst thing this story does is get people who are likely/leans Hillary voters just not to show up at all

This matters to undecided voters because it matters to me. I havent voted yet and Im undecided.

Im a registered independent. Ive voted democrat in the past but I have many conservative leanings.

I wanted Marco Rubio or John Kasich for the Republican nominee.

Trump:
I think Trump has some good ideas. I wont delve into all of them (this post would be way too long), but I think Trump, as a person, comes off as a buffoon. I think he needs constant coaching and redirection from his backers. Trump has zero foreign policy knowledge. And Trump also cant keep his mouth shut. He has said and done so many things to hand the Democrats ammunition against him. He's also a wild card, unprofessional, and takes everything personal.

Clinton:
I like a lot of Democratic ideals, but I think Obama has a ton of failures as part of his legacy and Clinton is too tied to them. I also fully believe Clinton (the Clintons... Bill included) are corrupt. They say one thing and do another. They only want minority votes, not minority success. They care only for themselves and their own amassing of power and influence. All in all, the Clintons are like Netflix "House of Cards". They are the Underwoods.

So... That said... The FBI recommending the DOJ charge Hillary Clinton with a crime (or crimes) is VERY IMPORTANT TO ME.

Trump may be a buffoon... But a buffoon and a criminal are very different to me....

Especially when put into perspective with other similar events. I've read that the Bush administration lost 22 million emails from their own server, but you don't hear jack s*** about it.

Wait, what? Got a link?

I can't take anyone serious who sees Trump only as a buffoon.

Oh come now, Sawyer. You know that all that racism and bigotry is just harmless buffoonery.

Racism, bigotry, thinly-veiled suggestions of assassinating his opponent, spurring on intimidation and harassment of minorities at polling stations, being set to stand trial for raping a 13 year old, yadda yadda yadda...

I cant take seriously anyone who thinks electing a corrupt politician is no big deal.

And with that being said this will be my last post on the "Politics" section.

Im going back to the Comic Book Section. Everyone have a nice night.

And electing a corrupt, greedy, racist, bigoted, sexual assaulter is really better?

Yep. It seems this was the norm, but didn't become an issue until Hillary, because she is Hillary.

What's sad is no matter who wins this thing... this country just stays insanely polarized for another 4 years.

Um... it probably gets lost in all the sexual harassment allegations, racism and xenophobia but there are plenty of corruption stories regarding Trump's various business dealings if the other stuff really isn't enough of a deal breaker for you.

You would think that once people figured out that Trump laughed about benefiting from the housing crisis they would realize Trump doesn't care about Americans.

Or that he shipped jobs to China.

Or that cheated desperate students trying to obtain a higher education.

Or that he obtained wealth from Americans with gambling addiction.

Or that he cheated a group of little girl performers.

Or that he refuses to pay taxes that provide countless services for the elderly, veterans, the working poor, school children, the military, etc

Or...

[points to Trump Foundation]

The Clinton Foundation is, at worst, is a lobbying firm disguised as a somewhat effective charity.

The Trump Foundation doesn't lobby or do charity. It just sucks the blood of idiots.

Make no doubt, half of the donors realize what the Trump Foundation is. Its why the donate instead of paying Trump...

The Election is rigged on Trump's behalf of course. In their last ditch effort to win Republicans purposely had the FBI Director to keep back emails that would harm Hillary Clinton's campaign until just the right time. It's just a conspiracy theory but it is fun to speculate. If the Republicans win a majority of the seats in the House & Senate even if Donald Trump doesn't win the Presidency what's to stop them from attempting to impeach Hillary right away?

Not even remotely.

There has to be an actual reason for impeachment and them being pissed that Hillary is president isn't a good enough reason to impeach a president. Also if the Impeachment makes it through the House it then goes to the Senate and then the Senate decides whether to convict and a conviction requires a two-thirds majority. It's unlikely the GOP will have control of two-thirds of the Senate seats. So it wouldn't succeed in the Senate.

Not to mention, if they impeached Hillary, Kaine would become president so it wouldn't get the GOP into the Oval Office. And the GOP is already holding the SCOTUS hostage and is already talking about refusing to confirm any Justices that Hillary chooses. Do you really think the Party can afford to then override a legal national election by impeaching a legally elected president that hasn't committed a crime while president. The political backlash is more than the GOP can handle right now.

Plus, consider Obama. The GOP despise him and have spent eight years demeaning him in the media whenever they can. They never impeached him. So don't worry too much.
