Glad he decided to try a different color set.

...but I refuse to make a MicroHero for that...that...weasel. :cmad:

Glad he decided to try a different color set.

...but I refuse to make a MicroHero for that...that...weasel. :cmad:

I figured since I'll be taking some inspiration from Animal Man and Aquaman, that orange (one of my favorite colors) would be the way to go. The blue looked best with it out of the three choices of purple, blue and green.

Also, I don't need a MicroHero. SuperFerret MicroHeroes are so 2004. :awesome:

Posted my first SuperFerret post. Hope it's not too brutal.

Here's that super weasel dude. Whatever his name is. It escapes me at the moment for he is so insignificant. :o

Again, sorry about the wait, Johnny. Finally finished all the school work I had to do, and am now officially on Christmas vacation, so I'm free to spend as much time on the Hype as I want now. I think we can stop the exchange between the characters there, and just skip ahead six months to after Kensei has taught Adam some techniques, and rejoin the rest of the RPG in the present day.

Updated the roster, updated the MicroHero collages, and added in The Guardian mini-char picture that Blacklight made a few months back.

I remember posting last night...I don't see it anymore. WHAT GIVES?

Hey guys, just wanted to let you all know that I'm not going to be around until Christmas Night. Going to visit my family, won't have internet.

So I'll just say that I hope everyone has a great holiday.

And now, another chapter in my ongoing pursuit for a second character I can stick with...

Character you have created: Vander Kane, The Archtype
Alias: None

Speech Color (Actually say what you're using, don't go "Like this", or what not): Bold, Palatino Linotype, Dark Green

Character Alignment: Villain

Identity: Known (as Vander Kane); Secret (The Archetype)

Character Personality (Give information on how your character acts, what he/she believes in, how they handle situations): Vander Kane is an arrogant man, who vaingloriously believes that only he is fit to run humanity. He only believes in helping himself, and will do whatever it takes to succeed. Deviously manipulative, Kane has a sharp wit and a sophisticated charm about him, which has helped him get to where he is today. He is cold-blooded and utter ruthless, and never forgets those who've crossed him.

Uniform/costume:

archetyperedesign1.png

Origin Info/Details: Vander Kane grew up as Vander Garrison in a small suburb in the city of Haven. There he lived in with his loving mother, and his alcoholic, abusive father. His father had been unemployed for a year then, and had routinely come home blind, stinking drunk and beat on his wife and on young Vander. In fact the oldest memory Vander can recall is of his father coming home and splitting his bottom lip wide open.
Eventually his mother got the courage to leave him, and she stole Vander away in the night and moved to Boston, Massachusetts to stay with his grandfather. Vander Kane was only seven years old.

But, it was in his years spent with his grandfather that Vander learned of the harsh world of big business. Vander's grandfather was Maximilian Kane, one of the most influential business men in the country. His company, The Genesis Corporation, was responsible for supplying the United States military with much of their armament. Genesis was also one of the leading scientific leaders, coming up with many advances in technological breakthroughs. All of which Maximilian made sure were profitable, first. If it couldn't make money, then it was a waste a time.
Vander and his grandfather, Max, became close, and Vander eventually took his mother's maiden name of Kane as his own, to finally wipe away the filth from his father.

Vander excelled in high school, and, with some strings pulled by his grandfather, was enrolled into Oxford University. There Vander showed off his genius, and graduated the top of his class. He came home and began to work under Maximilian as his protege. He was finally at peace when disaster struck.
His father had tracked them down. One day, while at Genesis, he broke into their home and murdered Vander's mother and grandfather before taking his own life.

Vander was furious. He had finally been able to put the past behind him only to have it return once again. The only two people worth anything in his life had just been taken away from him by the most worthless, gutless piece of filth imaginable. And the worst part of it all was that he had killed himself, taking away Vander's chance for vengeance. Vander became cold after that, taking over the family business from his late grandfather.
Humanity was blind, weak, mindless. It needed a strong will and intelligent mind to mold it and lead it into a better tomorrow. Humanity needed Vander Kane.

So Vander began expanding Genesis Corporation, taking the company global. Genesis' military contracts became more lucrative and Genesis began experimenting on gene manipulation and implantation in order to create a super soldier. Vander worked on this project personally, along with a Professor Thaddeus Miles. Professor Miles was a brilliant geneticist, and, together, they were able to create a formula that would grant the user meta-human powers.
Vander Kane tested it on himself, immediately falling ill. After being hospitalized for seven days, Vander Kane returned to work, and the project.

Genesis had began to 'acquire' meta-humans for research and experimentation, and it was one such encounter with a meta that changed Vander's life. A brutish creature called Ox had escaped it's holding cell. The meta was a super strong tank of a man, and insanely durable. Kane was caught unaware as the angry cretin came at him in the hallways. With nowhere to go, Vander was helpless as the Ox grabbed him by the throat and lifted him off of his feet.
Vander struggled, trying to pry Ox's hand from his throat. To Vander's surprise, he did.

With a bit of effort, Vander was able to escape the Ox's grip and get back to his feet. Vander didn't know how he did that, and didn't have time to think about it right now. Reacting on instinct, Vander lashed out, punching Ox across his jaw. Again to his surprise, Vander's shot shattered Ox's jaw and sent him smashing into the wall. Somehow Vander had gotten super-strength, but it was impossible. Just twenty minutes ago he had problems moving his oak desk a few feet in his office.
He looked down at the defeated Ox, and that's when it dawned on him. He had stolen Ox's power.

After explaining away the incident and taking care of the witnesses, Vander returned to Miles' lab and ran some tests while the professor was away. Vander's tests proved his theory was correct. He had indeed copied Ox's power. Vander came in contact with other meta-human prisoners of Genesis, testing his abilities as much as he was able.Vander made sure that all who knew of his ability were silenced, and came up with a secret guise he could wear to conceal his identity when using his powers, the Archetype.

In the wake of the alien invasion, Genesis' influence has grown even more as Vander made sure the Corporation was the first to offer it's help in rebuilding the country. It has also given Vander access to a host of alien technology to reverse engineer and study. Now Vander has expanded his empire into his home city of Haven, building his massive corporate office in the very center of the city. Vander has since moved his belongings from Boston to Haven, making the newly finished Genesis Corporation building in Haven to capital of his kingdom.
Here Vander hopes to study the multitude of costumed metas that seem to permeate the entire city and use them to further his goals, one way or another.

Hero Type (Select one):

Power Copier

Power Level (Select one below):

Cosmic (Ex. Silver Surfer, Green Lantern)

Powers (Be Specific): Vander has the ability to copy the powerset of any metahuman he comes in physical contact with. He seems to be able to only contain the powersets of seven metas at one time. Thus, if he wants to copy a new powerset, he must replace one of the existing ones he already has.

Currently his powersets are:
1) Super human strength, durability, and stamina
2) Sonic scream similar to Black Canary
3) Flight, super human agility
4) Channel and store solar energy and discharge it in blinded flashes and deadly blasts from eyes and hands
5) Shape-shifting (able to mimic living creatures only)
6) Telekinetic abilities
7) Regeneration similar to Wolverine

Attributes (Select one at each category):

Strength Level: 50 tons

Speed/Reaction Timing Level: 30 MPH; reaction timing faster than the standard man

Endurance at MAXIMUM Effort: 3 hours

Agility: 10x normal human

Intelligence: Genius (the world of science and technology, the ways of business and politics, planning and manipulation); Average

Fighting Skill: Untrained

Resources: Extreme (Vander owns and runs one of the world's largest corporations)

Weaknesses (If your stats chosen are deemed powerful enough by a Game Master with no weakness, the character will fall under rules of Level 3 and 4 characters. Even with a weakness, a Game Master may rule it as a Level 3 or 4 character): None currently, but when Vander copies a meta's powerset, he also gains their weakness(es).

Supporting Characters (Does your character have a significant other? A mother? Friend? Who are they, what do they have to do with your character?): As of now, only Ms. Sapphire, his secretary

List a few reasons why you've created that character: I love villains, and I am still searching for a second character I can stick with. With the new hero team on the scene, and Ultima gone, I wanted to do a big time villain who would be a homage to some classic DC blackhats, like Luthor, Amazo, Darkseid, etc.

What can you bring to the RPG?: Experience in Role-Playing.

Do you know how to post pictures on the hype boards?: Yes

Sample Post (Minimum Four paragraphs containing dialogue):

"Home, sweet home", Vander smiled as he looked out the window, taking the first bite out of an apple.
The view from his penthouse office gave him a clear view of the entire city of Haven. Positioned in the heart of the city's business district, Genesis Tower was an ominous figure that loomed high above it all. It had only been completed a month ago, but it served as the symbol of the Haven rebuilding project that Vander had put into motion after the aliens were defeated.

Kane smiled. He always did when he thought about those wonderful Arlakeeans. The destruction they caused gave him the perfect setup to expand his business dealings across the globe. And the amount of alien technology Genesis Corp was able to plunder was staggering. Already they were finishing touches on the alien's energy weapons and battle suits. The land vehicles and fighters wouldn't be far off.

"Ms. Sapphire, make sure to send the president a gift for the holidays."

"What would you like me to get him, sir", Ms. Sapphire asked over the intercom.

"Hmmm...I think I'll send him the Rolls."

"Really, sir? I thought that was your favorite car?"

"It's only a car, Ms. Sapphire", Vander replied.

"When you look at the big picture, it's nothing important at all", he said as he looked down at his open hand, the half eaten apple levitating a foot above it.

While I'm waiting on Mistress Gluon to proceed with our plans, I've been creating some villains for Michael's own Rogues Gallery since I have yet to really establish himself his own villains. Thus far I have 3 villains and hope to make 4 more.

I've been in the creative mood lately in terms of MicroHeroes creating some villains and...well, I'm going to make an offer that JB originally asked me about. After I make the rest of my rogue's gallery I will, per request via PM, make MicroHeroes for other NPC villains that some of you guys may want.

Also, since the roster picture has really become a collage now of the characters of CAH...Spike, NiteMare, since you two are the GMs...I was curious if it would be cool if I added NPC character MicroHeroes for the collage picture as well.

That's ok with me.

I'm waiting a little myself, but it shouldn't be too long.

I left a PM a little too late saying that I was waiting for someone else... just a miscommunication which was likely mostly on my own end (aren't they all, heh) but should be moving on soon.

That's some kickarse work there, trust'...
