OMG... you killed Vigilante!!! Holy Crap... that for me was out of left field!!
I have no idea where your story arc is leading now... but you have my undivided attention.
Very well written... kinda gross too... but...

G7

Thanks, Glad you liked it. Halfway through my next one but work has been pretty hectic, hopefully it's not immediately obvious and stuff gets revealed gradually as I intend.

Surprised me too. And I've been on the fence about redoing the redesign for Vigilante for a while. Heh I know that before I emphasized on superhero looks but maybe the design for Vigilante would benefit darker colors.

OK guys, quick announcment.

With Spike's somewhat limited availability at the moment, I am going to assume the role of Co-GM.

And I'd like announce that one of our own will be stepping up to be the new AGM, and that brave soul is none other than....

Wiegeabo.

Be afraid, be very afraid. We're gonna shake some **** up!

I'm going to try to make good use of today and tomorrow at work for the RPGs... so should have something up tomorrow.

*waves to the applause*

Thank you. Thank you.

*kills Nitemare*

Seeings as we now have an opening for GM, I'll be taking over that position in the game, in the same manner I do with all of them. :D

I was going to add "Watch your back, Shape" but I thought that went without saying... heh

Don't worry...I've got eyes in the back of my head.

Good thing too...with Wieg around, I'm gonna need it.

I'm afraid that I'm going to have to step down as GM completely. Circumstances have not improved over the last couple months as far as having the spare time to spend on this game, and that's not fair to the other players here. I do hope to get back into the game at least in a player capacity once the current university semester is over in a few weeks, but until then, I'm out.

Well, sorry to hear that. We look forward to having you back once things ease up a bit

Do we need a GM? Seems to me this all flows rather well.
or is it just that wiegeabo needs an outlet for his spontaneous spankings and executions?
*Grin*
Don't get me wrong... those are fine hobbies for some people, I applaud those who are different (cept dirty mutants... can't stand those... with their extra arms and X-Ray eyes!).
So does that mean that if he wanted... Wiegeabo could make a DC Comics (TM) Crisis wave sweep this Earth and obliterate all of our characters?

If he does this I will have to call these guys...
Just listen...

Heheheheh!!!

I could step up and help with the approval process if you'd like, NiteMare. I already have done a ton for the game anyway. Gotta work on my own activity though as of late. :p

Don't worry, I'll be stepping into the role of GM as I was the AGM prior to this anyhow. As I announced the other night, Wieg will be stepping into my old role. And I hope to have another announcement very soon.

But don't worry, you won't be seeing any changes to how the game is run, hopefully though, we'll get the activity up again.

I have accepted NiteMare's offer. You're going to be jealous, wieg. He pays more than byrd does for us doing all the work over at DC. I could take this gig, quit AGMing for DC and STILL retire early. :awesome:

lol, with that said...

I'd like to officially announce that Trusty will be stepping in as an additional AGM.

With Wieg and Trusty on board, the approval process should be sped up a bit and things should run alot smoother.

Welcome aboard Trusty

Yea sorry. Gonna work on a post hopefully tonight. Been trying to change up my routine recently and am still working it all out. But at least I woke up early enough for the gym today before work. :awesome:

Baby steps.

Work has been kicking me in the butt this week, but I'll try and come up with something tomorrow.

Well. Its been a long time, but I'm back and seeing as how the Marvel RPGs are on hiatus and I don't know jack about DC I figure this is the perfect new home. So without further ado...

Create a Hero RPG SEASON III Application

Character you have created: Zachary Newton
Alias: The Corrector

Speech Color (Actually say what you're using, don't go "Like this", or what not): Times New Roman size 3 BOLD

Character Alignment: Villian

Identity: Known

Character Personality (Give information on how your character acts, what he/she believes in, how they handle situations): The Corrector has known, loneliness, misery and dissapointment throughout much of his life and this is reflected in his personality. He interacts with others only begrudgingly and when he does it is all he can do to mask his disdain. He beleives in himself, his motives and his plans completely and views others who agree with him to be sycophants and those who disagree with him to be fools. While he is no sadist and does not take life simply for the sake of taking it, he has no problem with killing should the need arise and remains totally unrepentant for any of his actions.

Uniform/costume: The Corrector does is not a fan of garish outfits. He views himself as a soldier of sorts and his "working appearance" reflects this as he wears urban camoflage fatigues of his own design with a tight fitting cap. The fatigues are grey black with gold bars and isignia on shoulders matched by the golden insignia on the left breast. The insignia is that of the Collector's own organization and is that of a world map seemingly rising from an all consuming flame. This represents the Corrector's belief that by taking over the world and correcting its course he is in fact saving it from humanity's own ignorance and stupidity. The Corrector's unfirm is bullet broof and fire proof and has a belt and numerous small pouches for his weapons and equipment. When not in uniform the Corrector prefers expensive suits.

Origin Info/Details: Zachary Newton was born Lost Haven in the mid 1970s. The son of a low class prostitute working out of her small run down apartment, his father was never known to him.

The young Zachary's mother was a drug addict who continued to ply her trade after his birth but the young boy was at first blissfully unaware, despite the appalling neglect he suffered from. Despite never having been sent to school the young boy's intellect developed quickly and by the time he was five years old he was already exceptionally bright (though never tested at this time in hindsight Zachary estimates that his IQ and mental development would have been on par with that of a high school junior at that point). Despite his increasing awareness of his situation the young Zachary retained the positive outlook of youth, believing that the world was not a bad place and that good things eventually happened to good people. This naive world view was shattered when Zachary's mother met the man who would become her live in boyfriend.

The new boyfriend, Joe Thompson, was a part time loader on the city docks and an angry drunk who took out his frustrations on Zachary and his mother. This abuse only intensified when it became apparent to Joe that the young Zachary was far more intellegent than he was. The result was that Zachary began to hide his intelligence so as not to garner more attention from Joe. This state of affairs continued for several years as Zachary matured to adolescence and began working odd jobs around the neighbourhood to help support his mother. Some of these jobs were legitimate jobs for the city (helping to paint a sidewalk or remove graffiti) while others were less legitimate (such as petty theft). By all accounts Zachary was grinding out a meager life for himself while hiding his intelligence and he seemed accepting of this fate.

That is until the night when Joe Thompson flew into a drunken rage and began beating on Zachary's mother. When 18 year old Zachary tried to intervene he was shoved from the room and had to listen through a locked door as his mother screamed for Joe to stop. Zachary rushed to the nearest pay phone and dialled 911 before rushing back to the apartment and pounding on the door for Joe to let him in. This lasted for what seemed like hours without any response from the police until the screaming stopped and Joe stumbled from bedroom, covered in blood and looking aghast. Pushing past him, Zachary found what he had expected and feared, his mother had been brutally beaten to death. With Joe stumbling out of the apartment door Zachary suddenly turned on him, grabbing an empty whiskey bottle and hitting him on the head with hit. Joe was stunned, but he was a big man and a dock worker, able to take care of himself. Despite his stupor he attacked Zachary and the two grappled violently before Zachary eventually managed to strangle Joe with an extension cord just as police sirens were heard arriving a full 23 minutes after Zachary's initial 911 call. This was the first time the now orphaned Zachary Newton had ever killed a man, but he already had a feeling that it would not be the last.

After a short trial in which Zachary was incompetently defended by a state's attorney the Judge gave him the choice between Jail or serving his Country in the first Gulf War. Zachary chose to go to war.

The Army was a haven of sorts for Zachary. He appreciated the bearucracy, the rigid structuring, the formality, the discipline and the chain of command, at least on paper. In reality he found his commanding officers to be dimwitted and his fellow grunts to be nothing short of stupid. He became increasingly frustrated with them, and they in turn began to shun him. The only saving grace was combat, an experience which he relished and excelled at, though it seemed that barely anyone noticed.

That all changed the day he and his squadron were ambushed and attacked with chemical weapons. The rest of his squad perished but Zach miraculously survived and was evacuated to military hospital in Germany where he awakened to find that something was different. Something about the gas had reacted with his physiology and changed him somehow. He had always been smart, a genius by conventional standards, but now, now he could see 10 steps ahead. He could solve formulas in head that universities would task super computers with. Somehow the gassing had unlocked his true potential and he could finally see the world for what it was; and he could no longer tolerate it.

That very night Zachary Newton discreetly slipped out of the Military hospital and disappeared. Hardly anyone cared, he had no family and the millitary only cared as a matter of paperwork. Deserters were a matter of course during wartime. What no one could have known was that Zachary Newton had formed a plan and was already setting in motion. Acquiring funds by any means available he quickly got a hold of enough capital to rent a lab and begin testing his theories. To him there were no red lines, no ethical boundaries. He experimented on animals, people, even himself, determined to understand what had happened to him and how he could exploit it to his advantage. It was not long before Zachary discovered other ways of enhancing himself and developed the tools and weapons he would need to begin his endeavor.

Now nearly 20 years later Zachary Newton has returned to his hometown of Lost Haven to begin his self appointed mission of fixing the world whether it wanted to be fixed or not as The Corrector.

Hero Type (Select one): GRAY MATTER + Self enhancement through chemical and biological experimentation to take advantage of his unique physiology.

Power Level (Select one below): WORLD

Powers (Be Specific): The Corrector's primary power is his vast intellect. The man is a super genius. Understanding that intelligence alone is not enough the Corrector has augmented his strength, speed, agility, senses and resistance to harm through experimental procedures performed on himself. He is also armed with a variety of high tech gadgets and weapons.

Attributes (Select one at each category):

Strength Level: Enhanced Human (Just under 10 tons. Can be enhanced further by means of equipment of his own design)

Speed/Reaction Timing Level: Enhanced Human (just under 30 mph. Can be enhanced by means of equipment of his own design)

Endurance at MAXIMUM Effort: Normal Human

Agility: Enhanced Human (about 3x normal)

Intelligence: Super Genius

Fighting Skill: Trained in armed and unarmed combat by the US Millitary

Resources: Extensive. (The Correcter has been accumulating resources for nearly two decades while making full use of his super intellect. He has massive financial resources in varying accounts throughout the world and in hard currency and precious metals in various hideouts. He also has built an extensive secret headquarters just outside Lost Haven and has an army of unwilling thralls whom he controls by means of mind control technology supplemental by an army of robot soldiers)

Weaknesses The Corrector's most fatal flaws are his own narcissicm and overconfindence. He believes his victory to be inevitable and like all narcistic super genuises he views all others as inferior. This makes him very hard to work with (meaning he rarely cooperates with other villanious personalities and has no friends or support network beyond that which he creates for himself). The Corrector does not trust anyone. Though he has enhanced his physical abilities to the point where he can punch through a brick wall or deflect a bullet with his barehands the Corrector is no powerhouse and his physical improvements are used mainly for intimidation or as a last resort.

Supporting Characters (Does your character have a significant other? A mother? Friend? Who are they, what do they have to do with your character?): The Corrector has followers throughout the world ready to do his bidding but only because of a minute chip which he has surgically implanted behing their left ear. When the chip is activated the victim becomes an unwilling thrall ready to do the Corrector's bidding whatever it may be.

List a few reasons why you've created that character: I want back into the RPGs and you guys obviously need a villain. I've played villains who pound people. Now I want to play a mastermind with an ego problem.

What can you bring to the RPG?: Hopeully a decent RPer and something for the heroes to fight.

Do you know how to post pictures on the hype boards?: Sure. I imagine the Corrector as looking something like Michael Shannon at his most menacing and square jawed.

Sample Post (Minimum Four paragraphs containing dialogue):

"Please..." City Councilman Fred Jameson practically whimpered as he was dragged by the arms down what he could only ascertain was a hallway due to the fact that he felt no changes in direction

"Please just tell me what you want." He pleaded through the bag over his head to the silent figures on either side of him who held him with powerful and icy cold grips. The Councilman had only just left his office and was on his way to meet his wife before they both attended the mayor's annual charity dinner when he had been grapped and gagged.

"I've got money. I can give you money." He offered for not the first time when he felt a sudden jerk as his captors stopped abruptly and he heard another voice for the first time.

"About time." The voice said. It was a strong voice, confident and laced with authority "Put him in the chair."

Councilman Jameson felt himself being hauled off his feet (his kidnappers had to be at least seven feet tall) before being turned and forced into what felt like a reclining dentist's chair.

"Oh god." he yelped as the bag over his head was pulled off and he found himself squinting against a harsh light shining down on him in a darkened room.

A blurry figure came into view then and at first glance he seemed to be some kind of soldier. As Jameson's eyes adjusted to the light he found himself being scrutinized by harsh looking middleaged man in fatigues with the sleeves rooled up just below his elbows.

"Who are you?" Jameson asked warily only to have the man respond by grapping his chin and turning his head sideways. He was incredibly stong and his grip was like a vice.

Jameson was about to scream for help when he felt a pinprick just behind his ear and everything went black.

The man in the fatigues examined the spot where he had pricked Jameson, evaluating his handiwork, then glanced over to a display panel before stepping back and gesturing for the two hulking robots which had dragged the Councilman in to retrieve him.

"Get him back to his car and be quick about." He said sternly and the robots immediately moved to obey even as he turned his back to them and faced yet display panel. Everything was going to plan as he knew it would. The Councilman would snap to alertness in his car, having only lost 18 minutes of time and the implanted chip would implant memories that would make him believe that he had simply lost track of time and would have to rush to keep his appointment with his wife. The process had been repeated so many times it was like clockwork.

The man who calls himself the Corrector allows himself to feel a momentary sense of satisfaction as he watches his robots take the unconcious councilman away before crossing him off of a mental checklist of those public officials he will have to implant before he can execute his plan.

"12 down. 3 to go." He mutters to himself matter of factly.

Thanks NiteMare but upon reflection I have decided to make some changes plus add some more information. I have put this in RED so it is easy to find and I hope its won't affect the approval.

The Corrector's belt buckle is a smart golden piece in the shape of his insignia.

The Corrector also wears an advanced mask of his own design which offers protection and hides his identity by covering his face and distorting his voice slightly by giving it an electronic, artificial resonance.

The Mask covers his face and ears but not the top or the back of his head. Its cybernetic circuitry grants the Corrector instantaneous total control over his robotic minions and keeps him updated via numerous high tech scanning devices built into it which display relevant or requested information to the Corrector via a head's up display in the mask's interior face.

In the rare instances when the Corrector is forced into a real physical confrontation he will don a powered battle suit of his own design whenever possible. The battle suit integrates fully with his mask so that the face of the mask becomes the face of the battle suit's helmet when the Corrector dons and activates the suit.

When not in uniform the Corrector prefers expensive suits.

Now nearly 20 years later Zachary Newton has returned to his hometown of Lost Haven to begin his self appointed mission of fixing the world whether it wanted to be fixed or not as The Corrector.

Base of Operations: The Corrector has hidden bases across North America. His main bases are located on the outskirts of Lost Haven, somewhere in the Rockies, underneath the Mojave desert, and under the atlantic ocean near the coast of New York City.

The Corrector primary weapon and preffered side arm is miniturized Magnetic Rail Gun in the form of a pistol which he keeps holstered at his hip. The small weapon boasts minimal recoil and extreme stopping power in a 12 round clip which fires rounds made of a depleted uranium and tungsten alloy. This weapon is arguably the most deadly in his arsenal

Robots: The Corrector employs various robot designs for different tasks but the primary design is that of a hulking humaniod with a visor for face so as to match that of the Corrector's own mask. The robots are built out of a combination of steel and titantium and stand 6 feet and 6 inches tall. All robots have a stun gun housed into their right forearm and .30 Caliber light machine gun housed in their left forearm

Robot Stats -

Strength - 20 Tons
Speed - 50 MPH at maximum
Endurance - NA. The Robots are powered by an internal chemical battery which operates for anywhere between 1 to 4 days before a recharge is required.
Agility - On par with human agility
Intelligence - None. The Robots simply follow the Corrector's orders. Beyond that the Robots follow a basic set of directives which govern their actions by prioritizing the Corrector's safety above all else as well as allowing the robots to react in the cause of self preservation.
Fighting Skill - None. The Corrector's robots are not trained fighters but they do have extensive information on human anatomy which makes them more efficient in either of their two combat modes (Subdue or Eliminate).

Battle Suit:The Corrector's humanoid battle suits stands 7 feet tall and is loaded with armor plate consisting of depleted uranium sandwiched between two sheets of plate titanium. It also boasts numerous advanced weapons and defensive systems all powered by a small fusion short life fusion cell in the suits's chasis which allows for the generation over massive power over a relatively short period of time before the fusion cell is depleted and must be replaced, shutting down the suit.

Suit weapons - The Corrector's battle suit boasts a Grenade launcher built into the right wrist and a nozzle which fires a highly corrosive acid builyt into the left wrist. It also has .50 Caliber Machine guns housed in each forearm and a single shot high power gauss gun similiar to the Corrector's side arm built into the right shoulder. This weapon fires a single .50 caliber DU tungsten alloy round with massive stopping power. As a means of last resort the armor can also looses a single cluster bomb from its back which releases a dozen containers loaded with a deadly nerve gas. The cluster bomb released nerve gas is meant less as a weapon of mass destruction and more as a means of distracting foes to allow the Corrector to escape if he finds himself in danger of defeat.

Suit defences - Aside from the armor plate the suit is designed to take full advantage of the scanning equipment built into Corrector's mask and in extreme circumstances the Corrector can activate a high powered force field built into the armor. Unfortunately the massive power drain needed to activate the force field makes it a single use device as it leaves the suit completely depowered.

Suit mobility - The suit is humanoid in design and moves by means of bipedal locomotion. The suit cannot fly but it does have rocket powered jump jets built into its "calves". As the suit has signifcant power related limitiations, the "calves" store an amount of high octane rocket fuel used to power the jets so as to preserve fusion cell powering the armor and allow for a quick escape even should the armor be depowered. The rocket fuel consuming jump jets are good for no more than two "jumps" with a maximum distance covered of 3 miles per jump.

Suit Stats-

Strength - 60 Tons
Speed - 50 MPH at maximum
Endurance - NA. One more of maxmimum use at most before power is depleted.
Agility - On par with the corrector (3x human)
Intelligence - None. When the Corrector is not operating it the suit is nothing more than inanimate equipment.
Fighting Skill - None. While the suit is controlled by the Corrector its size and weight make it virtually impossible for him to make use even the most basic fighting skill while using it. The suit is formidable, but it is not designed to trade punches.

I imagine the Corrector's mask to be a visor of sorts. Kind of like in the photo except that it covers his ears and goes lowe to wrap around his chin while leaving his throat exposed.
