The CW developing "The Tomorrow People" remake

Well I loved it. Had everything I look for in a purely escapist/fun tv show.

Definitely got the Mutant X vibe as well. And Roswell. And a bit of Dark Angel. All of which I loved :)

It's got me hooked!

Here are some pics of the cast of the original and the later 90s series

This show has promise, I will definitely give it a few more episodes.

It's nice to see a super power series where each person doesn't have his or her own power. It's always struck me as a bit silly that when a mutation like this happens to many people and everyone ends up with a different power :)

The show is so middle of the road. There is nothing new or interesting about it. It's not horrible just painfully mediocre in every way.

How is it that the show was more diverse back then, then it is now?

This was fun. It's no BrBa or Game of Thrones but it was enjoyable. Plus, the sizzle reel for the next few episodes looks very promising. It'll be nice to see a superhero show not bound by comics and canon restrictions and hopefully be good this time around

Probably because ITV and Nickelodeon are more ethnically diverse in casting roles than CW who's casting is basically done from a Abercrombie & Fitch catalogue :o

Outside of Arrow, I pretty much eschew anything having to do with CW, but I was surprised that I was into this a little. I knew about the original (vaguely) and the Nickelodeon version so I bothered to check it out. Count me among those getting a Mutant X vibe off it (which is a good thing). Nothing groundbreaking, but I'll be checking out the next few eps to see what develops.

I feel the same. I'll still DVR it, but it was very meh...

It was pretty mediocre, but it was also just the pilot. These things get the chance to grow with their storytelling. I do kind of feel like it could end up being the Secret Circle to Arrow's Vampire Diaries, though. Some of the same spirit, but just lacking the overall magic that makes the first shows work.

I saw the pilot the other day and something that stuck out besides the obvious X-Men allegory is they can't kill people... yet Stryker Dr Price said they were a threat to humanity.

So they can't kill people but are a threat to people...

I'm sure he meant it in some other way but it sounds so contradictory.

Also it reminded me so much of Jumper even though this is a remake of a series that far pre-dates that movie.

Otherwise it was okay. I didn't have too many nitpicks about it not already expressed. There are some things they just have to do to set this series up that are overdone but once they get past that it looks like it could be good.

Can the Tomorrow People kill other Tomorrow People because that emo kid almost pushed Stephen off the roof?

In the most recent episode he basically says "yet." He fears they'll eventually evolve to that level like how the main dude went beyond the 3 T's (teleportation, telepathy & telekinesis) and froze time. So think of it as a pre-emptive strike.

So why did he needed to be saved by John (?) from falling off the roof? The dude can teleport.
Also it seemed a bit silly that someone who is being chased by a person trying to kill you is only teleporting to the other side of a wall. WHy not the other side of town?
All in all, I like it. It's not great though but the visuals are pretty nice and it's pretty interesting.

I tried watching the second episode but I'm just not into it. I think I'll be giving it a pass unfortunately.

I'm trying to get into it still...I love the powers...but it's just too bad they didn't have a power that gave them a personality.

I think ill give this show 2 more episodes until I fully jump ship.

As long as Jacob / Lucifer kills that one guys friend I am good

I'm enjoying the hell out of it. Plus there's no shortage of eye candy in this series. Peyton, Madeleine and Meta! Yum! I liked seeing some insight into Cara's backstory tonight.

I like Mark Pellegrino, he's been a great guest star in a lot of series but in this I just couldn't enjoy it. So hopefully it keeps going and gets better. Maybe I'll pick it up if it makes it to season 2.

This show needs some Michael Emerson.

Then again, so does every show but at least we got one Lost alum on here.

They're going to have to drop the whole inside man angle at some point this season. It's just stupid. Either the Uncle is stupid or he's playing stupid.

If they have a serum to take away their abilities. Why aren't they arming their special agents with it when they go hunting the Tomorrow People? Put it in a tranquilizer dart. Their jobs would be a lot easier.

Second favourite show right now, felt like each episode is getting betting than the previous one.

Any Tomorrow People info? Especially John-centric. Luke Mitchell is just delicious. — Carina
Get ready to see Mr. Delicious when he was just a teenager. In next week’s episode, we’ll delve into John’s backstory much like we did with Cara this week and it’s equally heartbreaking. And by the end of the episode, which features guest star Jason Dohring (Veronica Mars), John makes a decision that’s going to leave your jaw on the floor.
