The CW's Nikita

I liked the finale and was totally shell shocked when we got our first La Femme Nikita guest star (the actress who played Madeline was part of the CIA or whatever group that apparently Amanda has been working for)

Yeah, That was just awesome. I believe Harris Yulin also appeared on the 90s Nikita series, at least in a guest starring capacity.

I'm hoping CW gives the show a chance to build its audience. Smallvile's gone now, and I think they need a solid action drama flesh out their programming slate.

Didn't Buffy start with comparatively low ratings?

That was a good finale even if the "putting things right" setup was kind of off putting.

I'll never think Alex is the badass the series wants us to believe. She always comes off straddlnig this borderline bratty mentality.

I thought the finale was great. I think it will be interesting to see the student v mentor dynamic between Nikita and Alex next season. I'd also love for Peta Wilson to guest star in an Episode as a foe to Nikita.

I hope so too, but I don't think the CW is too invested. I'm hearing that they're keeping it alive for the sake of the foreign market. Keep in mind that this series is based on a French film by Luc Besson. So, it's a big hit in certain countries.

Smallville was never really an action show. It was sci-fi with A LOT of teen soap opera. Nikita is very unique in the sense that the CW has never aired a series like this. This show would probably be a better fit on FOX.

I think you're kind of splitting hairs there. And to be fair, the "teen" soap opera ended when the characters stopped being teenagers, and all got day jobs like five seasons ago.

Where it's guaranteed to last no longer than a season and a half? :whatever:

No. There was still teen soap opera back then. They cut back on that nonsense in season 8.

It's really not doing any better on the CW. All of CW's shows have been renewed already except Hellcats, One Tree Hill, and Nikita. And the ONLY reason Nikita may get picked up is because it's doing well in the International Market.

I never said it was. But your belief that Fox would be a better suited network for it isn't terribly concrete.

Especially with recent examples of Fox shows that haven't given shows like Nikita much more of a chance. We just saw Human Target canceled after two abbreviated seasons. Same with Dollhouse. Point is, FOX wasn't will to even give either of these shows a full 22 episode in their first seasons! Even if Nikita only has one season under its belt, it'll still be as many as two seasons of either Human Target or Dollhouse. Go back farther in Fox's history, and you'll find plenty more action-oriented/genre series that they throw by the wayside without hesitation.

FOX has a nasty history, but they're also willing to play ball. Fringe keeps staying alive despite poor ratings because of JJ Abrams. All of Seth MacFarlene's shows keep getting renewed. Nikita is a known property with international appeal. So, they would have kept it around even if they had to bury it on Friday nights alongside Fringe.

I guess its renewal makes this a moot point now. :whatever:

Looks like Nikita will be taking Smallville's time slot on Friday's. It's funny because NBC will be airing Chuck on Friday's as well. Two McG shows competiting against each other.

Yum, more Lyndsy Fonseca!

Yes, THANK YOU. CW cancelled Hellcats which was LOADED with hot chicks. So, atleast we didn't lose Lyndsy Fonseca as well.

AWESOME news. Nikita is one of the best shows on tv at the moment.

I'm surprised at several series renewals this year regardless of how good or bad I thought the series was. Usually it feels like good series get cancelled fast and the utter crap gets an instant renewal but occasionally they hit the center and renew or cancel half and half.

This is one where I'm indifferent. I watched it but it wasn't going to disappoint me if I saw it was cancelled. I'll probably watch a few episodes when it's renewed but not loyally.

The show stepped up its game in the 2nd half of the season and was basically flawless so of course it shouldve gotten picked up.
