I really hope so, there is a very concerning mythology point from the earlier leak that has me very concerned about the film's subtext. The leaker in question was tuned out, so I'm hoping they misinterpreted it, but...

Allegedly, Clark's understanding of why he was sent to Earth was based on a corrupted message from Jor-El. Allegedly, Lex unscrambles it and Kal-El was actually sent to invade/conquer Earth.

Given that we living in a world where xenophobes and fascists in the United States are unjustifiably treating desperate migrants as criminals and murderers, it seems massively problematic for this film to essentially turn Superman into exactly that and that he was seemingly only saved from that destiny by good old-fashioned white, Midwestern values.

Given how much middle-aged white Middle Americans are at the heart of the current descent into fascism, xenophobia, and authoritarianism, this could be extremely problematic. Superman's original origin story is a much more positive and timeless story of the truth of immigration often being about desperate people looking for a better life.

I'm really hoping the leaker was confused and Lex's message is the altered one.

It seems that Superman Birthright has been an inspiration for Gunn

I was also gonna avoid reviews and go fully dark till I watched it. But I just couldn't look away this time. The Rotten Tomatoes drama is a little addictive.

I’m so excited to see the movie getting fresh reviews!
I can’t help but remember when Man of Steel came out we were all here in 2013, watching the reviews drop one by one, clinging to the positives and dreading every negative. Let’s be honest, even if we say critics shouldn’t affect us… they kinda do.
At some point back then, I remember we just gave up on the score and focused on loving the movie ourselves.
Seeing so many familiar usernames here again really hits, wow, what a time that was.

Fillion is in Lanterns and Peacemaker along with Merced (and other surprise characters according to Gunn.) Corenswet is a shoo-in for Supergirl and is in Gunn's next script, plus I can see him in Lanterns or Peacemaker too.

Not really. I don't even go on most social media apart from Instagram for food, wine, watches, and tailoring. The occasional DC superhero stuff I get on there has comment sections filled with trolls yamming on about how Cavill was screwed over and how Gunn is a hack and Corenswet is a skinny p***** in an ugly suit. Same crazy unhinged **** about Pattinson being a skinny emo ***** who isn't worthy to hold Affleck's jockstrap. There is a seriously deranged cult out there.
