The Daily Planet Vol. 2: Superman News and Speculation Thread (🚨TAG SPOILERS🚨)

I feel like there's perfect costume somewhere in the middle between these two.

I haven't cared much about Jeff Sneider's reports of non-stellar test screenings, but reading the latest World of Reel article (I'm new to that site, don't know if reliable), I really don't like the idea of Gunn and Safran nervously recutting the film with David Zaslav's heavy input, who sounds like a bit of an idiot. Of the three, Gunn is the one with the most solid track record, yet it's his choices regarding runtime and tone that would seem to be getting compromised. I remember reading a Gunn interview where he said he had an ending that he loved and that he ended up changing, for unspecified reasons. I now wonder if pressure was an extreme problem and how much it forced Gunn to change things that he felt would've worked.

There's also the chance this is all par for the course and it's just bits of info magnified into a clickable article.

It's a clickbait article from a clickbait site. They're just editing the film.

Any thoughts on Umberto's latest DCU-related tweet?

Don't think that's how things went down.

I would bet money not one aspect of that "report" is true.

Let's add Routh's blue bodysuit as well and you have yourself a deal.

Okay so Routh bodysuit and belt buckle with everything else David's that works.

While I agree that there are some things I would tweak about Corenswet's suit, I really think going back to a Routh-type bodysuit would be a mistake.

Those types of costumes require heavy muscle padding underneath because of how they flatten and smooth out the actor's physique. All of that makes them restrictive and hinders the actor's movements making them very stiff. I really like how the looser fit of Corenswet's suit allows him to move more naturally and often appear more relaxed and casual. Superman's suit shouldn't be like a suit of armour that forces him into a upright posture.

I would just tone down and erase some of the unnecessary shoulder and gauntlet lines. I too would prefer a traditional neckline, but this one works and better suits Corenswet's long, thin neck. It's like the collar on The Batman batsuit, it is there for a practical reason and it works.

Also, not sure why we would change the belt buckle, this one is fine and pretty classic and the square shape better matches the more geometric S shield here. An oval buckle would better match a traditional S shield.

BRB, buying a ticket to Manila.

Video of Corenswet training for Superman. Some new little BTS bits in there of what we will probably see on screen.
