The Daily Planet Vol. 2: Superman News and Speculation Thread (🚨TAG SPOILERS🚨)

Seldom see China get exclusive TV spots. Wish I was there for the premiere but now I live in Japan.

Here it is

Don't get me wrong, the movie looks super fun and the tone is what Superman badly needed since too long...
But visually, while I really enjoy the colorful palette and most of the art direction, the patina reminds me more and more of The Flash...

Oh well, as long as there's no sequence with plastic-looking dead actors, it should be fine. :o

I generally like Henry Braham's work, including The Flash. It's the dodgy CGI I have a problem with on that movie (which becomes an even bigger problem when the main character's suit is done with CGI in most shots).

The lighting and camera work I found pretty cool. But superficial similarities aside, the look here doesn't really remind me of The Flash.

Some of it reminds me of The Suicide Squad (and also Guardians 3), but it also looks like Gunn and Braham are trying out new things.

Is it me or does it look like they scaled back the blue filter a bit?

They did.

I have to admit, I was one of the skeptics on the visuals around here when the first trailer dropped.

But they've done some effort to improve them and I am seriously starting to get hyped for this.

I'm as excited to see Lex as I am superman.
Lex is my favorite supervillain, and I've desperately been waiting to see him done right on the big screen.

MR's portrayal of Lex in SV is my favorite live action version, so far.
Clancy brown in animation.

yea man, when i think of lex - it's either rosenbaum in smallville or clancy brown in the dcau as well.

there hasn't been a definitive movie version of lex so far, imo.
gene hackman (RIP) was a great actor, but i just never bought into his lex luthor, but that's more a problem in the writing/ script.

i'm hoping hoult gives us that definitive take.

Theres an Amazon advanced screening at my hometown theater on July 8, but it’s not IMAX, it’s regal’s RPX thing which is their IMAX copycat

Lincoln square has a 6 o’clock IMAX fan first screening on Thursday the 10th… What do you guys think, should I wait to see it on the biggest screen possible or see it a few days before everyone else?

I think in the end, I’ll probably just go to both

Decisions, decisions

So bizarre that Singer didn't just start fresh.

I have been itching to finally see a Lex Luthor on the big screen that better encapsulates the modern version of the character, that would fall in line with what we've seen in the DCEU for example . Seems like we're finally getting that and then some. You can't understand how much it fills me with joy seeing businessman jerk Lex up there in his fancy Luthorcorp tower being the ultimate Superman hater.

Looks like I'll be watching it on the 8th.

the trailers doing a good job of showing how much of a hater lex is.

like i'm almost expecting him to release a superman diss track up on spotify. haha.

Everything so far about David and the character seems great. I love his voice, especially the "Miss Lane" line, and in the latest preview, the line about the glasses. So many actors might have gone more tongue in cheek, or silly, not in believing it, but it does seem to me that David's Clark actually believes it, and it shows. I think he may be extremely good in this, and he was a great choice, if not, the only choice.
