The Daily Planet Vol. 2: Superman News and Speculation Thread (🚨TAG SPOILERS🚨)

That’s what I mean, though. You’re gonna try to “fix” one problem (that would, frankly, be better handled by telling Zaslav to **** off out of the entertainment business entirely) by potentially causing another?
My guess is no one in this argument is capable of firing Safran. And they're just looking for as much power as possible.

The
zaslav is a lil' biznatch

This. The top studio heads will forever be all our villains at WB until solid leadership takes form. Will it ever happen? Remains to be seen, but atleast Superman and DC is getting another look-see before public domain throws their hat into the ring. I'm enjoying this recent reboot for what it is and allowing the chips where they may fall. Just give me a good Superman film. That's it.

There's always option B and C:

I feel the majority of the complaints about the sneak peak are pretty self explanatory...

-Superman feeling "pain" by the sun.

-Krypto "should know" Superman is in pain and not jump on him.

- (newest edition) Robot notices Superman is looking at her, right after the other (older) robot says they don't feel emotions.

Idk, I get people may not vibe with the dog or whatever, but the complaints are pretty sad lol. I'm just gonna assume these people complaining about Krpyto have never had a puppy or taken a dog from an animal shelter. Takes a minute to train them to be obedient. I even expect him becoming a good boy to be an arc for ole Krypto...idk

Would you guys say that the Sneak Peak did more positive than negative for the movie, or kept it the same?

It's not just Snyder fans/bros. A lot of comic book Superman fans and pages (even Reeve fans) that I have seen and are apart of with thousands of members and hundreds of comments about 'Superman' are split as well. This is not going to change and the discourse is here to stay.

These same trades called Snyder fans "bots" and have attacked that fanbase on more than one occasion, ad-nauseum. Nobody is holier than thou in this fanbase medium. Snyder fans took their fair share of slugs to the face and are they way they are for a reason (and everyone knows it).

What needs to happen is the general audience needs to latch onto this film, families need to get in the theater, and those same families need to recommend a good word of mouth to other families to create a new audience for the reboot. A good movie will drown out the BS, but it's never going to go away. Not in this modern age.
I wouldn't worry too much. Gunn has got this.

I have a lot of faith in him to pull it off. What we see is extremely promising. I go into every Superman film hoping it lands, or any Superman material for that matter. Gunn is great at character work, and though he is bound to (predictably) fall short in some areas that won't make every fan happy, he will have a tone and theme to this movie that will end on an upbeat experience. I'll surely take it.

This is tough, because I really try to set aside most of the fragmented fanbases that are bound speak in hyperbole and hyperbole only. I think by it's nature of being something fresh, it inherently has a positive affect, but realistically, you can take a knife and cut it straight down the middle until we know how the general audience is reacting. That's probably one of the main reasons as to why the studio put this thing to play before Minecraft in a dominant controlled family-like room. The studio can care less about the fans. The ones who will show up will show up, and it will take much more than that. Givin' Gunn's track record with critics and families alike, I think overall, things will lean positive where it matters.

How do you know they're comic book fans? How do you know they're Superman fans?

A lot of Snyder "fans" were bots. The reason that fanbase has got a lot of crap, is because they decided to follow a bunch of right wing incels who treat women and minorities like ****.

They wear Superman shirts and tattoos at the gym, though. :o

Snyder fans have cornered themselves into not counting anything when it comes to anything DC, or movies or whatever. Lots of personal rage filtered through a franchise which has been cut short.

Burton fans didn't turn into a bunch of non-sensical aholes because Batman Returns didn't get a sequel.

I would say the reaction I have seen online has mostly been positive, almost overwhelmingly so.

It's only the drama queens like John Rocha and Sneider that are trying to find negativity wherever they can and acting like WB should be concerned or that the reaction is mixed.

FC: That's because Batman Forever is the superior Batman film!

I've seen very little negativity.

Sure, it's just mostly them.
You can usually tell by the substance of the complaints. Or should I say lack there of.

This doesn't mean there isn't any good faith criticism. There definitely is. But that's not what's getting pointed to. You'll hear how someone is a big Superman fan, and then find out they've only watched Snyder's movies and played Injustice.

There is, theoretically, good faith in criticism. But it's also been obliviated by the clown show that has been the Snyder cult and its constant trolling and lack of logic.
