I saw it a looooooong time ago. It wasn't great, but I've seen worse lol.

Yeah Branagh’s remains the definitive cinematic Hamlet for me.I liked it but Branagh did it better when he set it in the 1800’s. It’s a masterpiece.

I’m not sure I see what everyone else seems to see in Brandon Sklenar.
David had undeniable Superman energy, both in aura and in his look. Sklenar is just a strapping white guy.
Such as this?

Oh wow. That's my ideal look for the modern Superman right there.
I'm not really feeling Corenswet's look for Superman at all.

But he definitely has the 'aura' and energy for it, as mentioned above.
And David has main character energy (if used correctly). Something no Superman has had since Reeve. Routh and Cavill were very passive, limited actors.

They thought a black man named Othello would be too farfetched?I liked it but Branagh did it better when he set it in the 1800’s. It’s a masterpiece.

While we are on the subject of underrated period Shakespeare films:

As a bygone era taught us, that is all some people need. Well that and some pandering.I’m not sure I see what everyone else seems to see in Brandon Sklenar.

Meanwhile, my brown ass be like:The thing is, Batman will always be easier to cast than Supes because Supes doesn’t wear a mask, and most people tend to want a very specific look for him. So it’s hard enough to find someone who fits that look, and when you throw acting ability and inherent wholesomeness on top of that…when someone checks all those boxes, it’s likely that the fan faves will align with the studio/director faves most of the time because those actors are just rare, and really stand out when they show up, as they make everyone watching them go “that guy is Superman.”
With Batman, most regular-looking actors can be made to look like a pretty effective Batman with the right cowl. That’s why the various cinematic Batmen we’ve had so far have looked almost nothing alike. So there’s a much larger acting pool to draw from that’s narrowed down by the director’s personal taste in actors, which is why the fan-casting is way less likely to align with who’s seriously in contention. There are simply way more options at any given time.
And I’m sitting here thinking there’s exactly one guy who looks like Superman there.Meanwhile, my brown ass be like:

In a different world, Tyler Hoechlin may have had a DiCaprio or Bale type of career where he rode a huge child acting role into adult stardom. But instead he chose high school and college baseball over Hollywood after he held his own against heavyweights like Tom Hanks, Paul Newman, Daniel Craig, and Jude Law in Road to Perdition.
But the good news for us is that after his baseball career, he returned to acting and gave us the most earnest and fleshed out Superman maybe of all time and at least since Reeve.
I do sometimes think about who might have been cast in that. I think Brendan Fraser was more likely than Bomer in 2001ish when that was being developed. I’m not sure Bomer got on the studio’s radar til about 2003.In an alternate universe, there is a Batman Vs. Superman movie made in 2002 that starred both Matthew Bomer and Wes Bentley.
Somewhere quite cool, it's River vs. Joaquin.I do sometimes think about who might have been cast in that. I think Brendan Fraser was more likely than Bomer in 2001ish when that was being developed. I’m not sure Bomer got on the studio’s radar til about 2003.
