LMAO, they totally digitally blocked out his Eagles shirt.

There was a certain BTS shot of the cast wearing black and silver Superman shirts.

We need that yesterday.

what makes superman interesting is the dichotomy of the character.

he's got super strength and nigh-invulnerability, but he also worries about the safety and mortality of his friends and family. just like we do.

he too can suffer grief and loss.

he may have all these powers, but he is not omnipresent or immortal. he sometimes loses, even when he has the best intentions.

there is also the underlying subtext of him essentially being an immigrant, which many people can relate too as well.

all of this makes superman relatable.

For me there's ALSO the dichotomy of him having the powers of a god and yet in personality being an unassuming sheltered farm dork that is incredibly appealing. The contrast there is everything. He could rule the world and yet is the most down-to-earth guy you'll ever meet who doesn't take himself too seriously and geeks out about the simplest things. That's the main thing the previous cinematic incarnation lacked that made it impossible for me to get on board. It's so vital to his appeal for me.

To me what makes Superman interesting is.. everything.

absolutely this as well.
i think we are getting this characterization in gunn's film.
yay!

I do not know why, but that BTS featurette has gotten me more hyped than the Teaser or the Sneak Peek (and I already thought I had reached my limit).

I think it is because everyone looks genuinely happy or proud or whatever about making the film, and they genuinely seem to understand what they are making. It just does the heart good.

Why do you find it unwatchable? Genuinely curious.
I found the story to be laughable (even for an MI film) the villain to be a waste of a great actor, the ending atrocious and it looked and felt more like a TV show than a movie. To me it felt like a lot of things JJ does...it has the look of the project it is aping but none of the substance.

Wow. Interesting.

Thank the lord my initial reaction to the suit was wrong-- since the set pics started leaking, I've dug it more and more. Looked beautiful in the sneak peak (as did literally everything else) and even here in the BTS. KEEP the collar. Never in a million years did I think I'd be saying that, but here we are.

Haven't been able to comment much on this whole movie, because a year ago my life essentially got blown up and I've been rebuilding ever since, but I have been watching, and yeah, everything about this looks incredible. Silver Age Superman with a good peppering of everything else and brought to the modern era. I couldn't be happier with it all. And David and Rachel look so good together, as does the rest of the DP team. Lex finally looks and feels like Lex.

Have nothing else to add except OMG please don't fumble this, James Gunn.
