Just thought I'd revive the thread a little, having seen the film again last night.
For a Tuesday night, I was in awe. I'd say, without exaggeration, 95-100% of the theater was sold out. The entire front section was full (I couldn't see the very first row though). Incredible!
Anyhow, some great reactions from the crowd, with some new ones I haven't heard before. The Prologue got some gasps during the clowns shooting each other (always great to hear Prologue reactions considering we've seen it for months) and a mega gasp for the grenade in Fichtner's mouth.
Joker's entrance to the mob meeting got some nervous laughter, and of course, the pencil trick garnered gasps, cheers, and several long, loud HOOOOOOLLLLY SH**'s! Funniest part of the mob scene was when some chick started laughing hysterically after Joker said "Yeah..." to Gambol. Honestly, I bet she was in tears.
Bruce's stitching got lots of winces as usually, and I was mildly surprised to hear some whooping when Alfred was on screen for the first time.
WSS? scene got some major gasps and should could tell people were really nervous. Lots of nervous laughter anytime Joker was on screen.
This one was interesting. When Joker went "You remind me of my father...." several people in the audience were all like "Oh no...oh crap...". Showed me they were actually paying attention. Same reaction to when Joker asked Rachel whether she knew how he got his scars. Same reaction again when Bruce stumbled upon the tied up cops during Loeb's funeral. People were really into the movie, and were frightened every time the Joker was up to some business.
Reaction to Gordon's death really took me by surprise. From the moment he was shot, until after the scene with his family ended, people were "Awwwwing" and silently whispering "Oh no...so sad...such a good guy..." crap like that. I really liked seeing the audience so into it.
Breaking of Maroni's legs also got a mega reaction. Huge gasps and lots of cringing.
Interrogation scene got lots of "Woahs!", especially when Bats appeared after the lights turned on.
Joker nurse got a big pop as usual. The hysterical girl was back, laughing away.
Movie got some good claps at the end.
Anyhow, I'm just so happy to see some fresh reactions and even more happy to see full houses, with this movie already being out 2 weeks. Amazing.
