Nice. :2face:

My problem is...I have thousands of dvds

I collect...

if everything goes Blu-ray

...My dvds will end up like VHS

....VHS are being sold for 25 cents at a store near where I live...

You can still play DVD's on Blu-Ray players...so no, your DVD's will not end up like VHS. And you don't HAVE to rebuy movies because of this.

I still have all my DVD's, but I started buying Blu's and haven't stopped since. My DVD collection did not stop working because I chose to switch to Blue.

It probably will switch to Blu. As to VHS' being sold for 25 cents, well, it's an old format so that makes sense. That's what happens in the world: old things that nobody really wants/uses end up cheap.

Oh, and I will be buying TDK on Blu....not the bike version because I don't like the case that holds the Blu's...I would rather have the kickass artwork on the regular Blu.

I'm pretty sure that the Hot Toys two face will have a coin with it...

At least...It..should

Blu-ray pwns. If anyone is thinking of getting one, the best choice is a PS3 IMO. It's about the same price as the other ones ($400 80GB, or $500 160GB), plus it has built in wi-fi, so if there's any software updates, you got 'em.

Plus it plays video games :woot:

Anybody ever think that maybe the coin is connected to one of his hands?

I'm not switching to blu-ray unless machines continue to be able to play my extensive dvd collection (and I still have a lot of vhs because there are older more obscure movies that are only available that way), and until blu-ray discs themselves are as cheap as dvds (my value equation is this: I divide the cost by new-rental cost - usually $5-6 - and ask myself will I watch it this many times? So if the movie costs $20, I have to figure I'll watch it at least 3-4 times). I could have gone with a new computer that had blu-ray capacity, but went with the MacBook Pro instead and have had no regrets on that count; I love my Mac.

Of course I'm increasingly troubled by the sheer amount of space the collection takes up in a small apartment, and may either go back to renting all but those I'm certain I'll watch multiple times, or I might start getting rid of some of the collection (things I probably won't watch again). In other words, I'm falling out of love with the idea of elaborate cases, no matter how attractive the graphic is on them.

TDK is a no-brainer as an investment. This hasn't always been the case with things I've seen more than once in the cinema: I might buy the deluxe dvd and realize I've really seen the movie already as much as I want to. However, I think I'm a long way from saturation point with TDK, and I really do want to see a lot of making-of documentaries.

Lol...ya it's like the jump from VHS to DVD...

I really didn't think there was any difference at first.
I never hated it and/or opposed it, I just thought it was some gimmick.
Until I saw blu-ray for the first time...
And yes, it is better than DVD, it is not a gimmick. It is a BILLION times better, anyone who has blu-ray can/should agree because it is true.

The prologue on blu-ray is rediciulous, I can't even imagine the rest of the movie.

It really is amazing.

I know what being cheap is all about, and I also know what it's like to be stubborn lol, because clearly those are the 2 reasons there is no conversion to blu-ray.

But being a natural movie goer, blu-ray is definitely the way to go.

:)

Have to agree with all of this.

I had bought BB on Blu-ray and borrowed my sister's PS3. Not only did the prologue look great but BB looked great as well.

I think TDK is going to get me to convert to Blu-ray in the near future.

For those worried about having to convert, personally I'm just going to start buying future movies on Blu-ray and keep the ones I already own on DVD. I think regular DVD's still have a lot of life left to them.

Because alot of people wasted money buying those

*insert smiley face with tongue sticking out here*

WOOO!!! I'm not alone :)

im hopin it does. cuz that'd be kinda sucky if it was just a blu-ray exclusive.

Hmmm...looks like I'll be needing to buy a PS3 in the Near Future...

for anyone who is thinking of converting to blu-ray soon i was just flipping through the new best-buy ad and alot of blu-ray players on in the 300-250 range so if you are going to convert nows the time plus i have two blu-ray players and i have batman begins on blu-ray and once i saw the prolouge in hd it convinced me to upgrade to hd.
