Still, I'm prepping myself for the possibility that Nolan might close Batman's story completely.... disallowing other directors the ability to work on top of his series... ala Bond.
Batman could die... or Bruce could feel like he's won so he doesn't need Batman anymore.... Someone could take over for Batman.... etc.
Nolan leaves open this very real possibility every time he proclaims TDKR as an end to Bruce Wayne's story. As a storyteller, it makes sense that he'd want to have a climactic end to the Batman story arch... and it might be something he'll do, despite diehard Batman fans and WB Execs hating the idea.

Ending it in that way, if it's done purposefully and tastefully then it's not a terrible ending. For example, 2Face dying in TDK didn't sit well with a considerable amount of viewers, but that doesn't mean it wasn't done well. They didn't like the choice, not the execution of it.

Knowing Devin, he was trying to imply the latter about TDKR's finale.

I've heard from a couple alleged WB employees that the studio was nervous about this movie. One in particular was talking about how Superman is having trouble because they're trying to rush it out for 2012, and then went on to say something along the lines of "don't even get me started on the new Batman, that movie is a disaster." They then went on to spill some "disappointing" details about the ending, which I personally didn't believe at first becase I thought he was full of it, but then the community seemed to take what he was saying seriously. I thought maybe they were just naive, as it was one of those **************-esque sites that I can't even be bothered to remember the name of, but then there was also that guy on SHH who came into that thread during the "LOS" leak said he'd been hearing bad things as well. Now with what Devin is saying, I'm not sure anymore... I'm sure Nolan wouldn't go forward with this movie if he hadn't come up with the right story, and I know Gary wouldn't lie about his excitement over it being better than TDK.

Wouldn't worry about. Nolan's got this. Plus, you guys do know that Devin's drinks the Marvel Kool Aid like nobody's business. Just look up all his comments on Captain America. Expect a stellar review of that film in the coming months. He already has it written.
