I agree, especially after the disappointing dvd covers we ended up getting from WB :-/
I remember discussion about this scene, people thinking it's Bane taking machine gun fire from the police.
I do too.
I was like "Bane is not a Terminator."
Or that Bane's "earthquake machine" also possessed a force field.
Hahahahaha oh yes, the earthquake machine days. The teaser poster with the crumbling buildings and the football field destruction were the big pieces of evidence.
I'm still convinced he had the machine.
Maybe he needs one of us to repair the Matt Signal.
The Matt-man has to come back...
Daaaaaaamn.. I didn't even... wow. One stab from behind for each of her parents' deaths..
Every time I look at this film, something new clicks.
Damn College Humor Parody of this scene; I can't stop imagining the characters saying their CHP lines whenever this comes up in any of my viewings of the fiml.haha
Yeeaaahh, that's why I've stopped watching parodies of things I like, unfortunately. Kills my Batman *****.
What if MessenjahMatt doesn't exist anymore? We won, our fan art beat official art work.
Based on officially released images, now this crappy Man of Steel promotional campaign rises from the ashes where we tried to bury it, the MessenjahMatt must come back.
How was this explained? What did batman throw at him, what exploded all around him?
I believe they are flashbangs.
Are they attached to a batarang or something? Because they go off in a circle around him.
Something like that. When he throws them, he only throws once. So the device was arranged to work like that.
How come it didn't effect bane whatsoever?
If you look closely, he grabs something that's a 'V' shape with six tiny ball-like shapes along that 'V' shape which then just dispersed when it was thrown.
It's not meant to hurt it's meant to intimidate, like Bane said "Theatricality and deception are powerful agents to the uniniated, but we are initiated aren't we Bruce". It goes back to the explosive powder Ra's shows Bruce in Batman Begins.
So a bunch of harmless little smoke pellets that he pulls out of his pocket and tosses right in plain sight is supposed to INTIMIDATE the guy who just totally owned him in a physical fight?
Sorry, not sold on that. It was stupid and useless.
People have called them smoke bombs, but they're not even close to smoke bombs. A smoke bomb implies a large cloud that obscures the view of the surrounding area or causes breathing impairment. This did neither. It just made cute little puffs.
