The movie is tanking.

Imagine the mess if Dark Phoenix fails to outgross The Incredible Hulk (lowest-grossing MCU movie).

"It looks like Disney’s “X-Men: Dark Phoenix” won’t be rising from the ashes anytime soon."

Disney this is your mess now. Time to do something about this "Kinberg situation."
They have already handled the X-Men mess.

This is legitimately sad. What a way for this franchise to end. They couldn’t just leave it alone with DoFP and Logan could they? They would’ve had a franchise that the only bad movies were Last Stand and Origins and this franchise would have not become a joke. But they had to do Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix and really put the nail in the coffin. Great job Fox running your best franchise into the ground all because of Kinberg.

Marvel need to give us loyal fans something ASAP! So we can have some hope.

I disagree. Marvel needs to do what they have been. Going in with a level head and a solid plan. Not rushing things out of panic.

Unless you mean by "something," leaking video of Simon Kinberg being led out of the studio by security holding a cardboard box.

It would not surprise me that Disney doesn’t release ‘New Mutants’ in theaters if Dark Phoenix ends up tanking.

If they are losing money on this big budget production which costs over a hundred million to produce that already had costy reshoots then is it really worth investing more cash on reshoots on another movie rumored to have had a similarly troubled production? It’s throwing good money after bad. Just shelve New Mutants and have this be the last Mutant-related movie released from Fox.

If we are going to be fair, Fox was doing what all companies do. Trying to make money. And no matter how well they made these movies, people didn't want to see them to a degree where putting as much money into them as they did was feasible. Fox holds a lot of blame here. But It is probably telling that the the last two Avengers flicks have made more money then the entire X-Men series, including Deadpool, up to this point

I love Logan. Love Deadpool. Really like First Class, DoFP, the Wolverine, and Deadpool 2 still. But the general public didn't really care for the Fox X-Men franchise, even at it's best. Not to the degree that it cares about other series.

hahahahaha that would be fantastic. Just that Kinberg will no longer be anywhere near this franchise is good enough.

$13 millions opening doesn't seem to bad to me when I think this is not weekend earnings. I'll wait two days from now to see how painfully low this can gross.

Yes I agree. The X-Men films were a little more aimed to a specific group of people like us who’ve been there since the beginning. Most people I know haven’t really watched X-Men compared to the MCU films. I’m just looking forward to the mass audiences finally getting to see the X-Men done right and in the MCU.

Oh they shouldn't.

Just imagine if theNew Mutants flops and gets bad reviews, thats another gut punch to the legacy of the franchise. The only difference is The New Mutants would come just and go quickly simply because to be frank, no one really cares about that film outside of the movie sites.

They shouldn't have released Dark Phoenix to begin with. People predicted that it would get this sort of response and box office result and end the Fox X-Men series on a bad note, and here we are. If it does flop and they aren't able to break even, or can only break even at the very most rather than make a profit, then there wasn't much point in releasing it.
