I'd quite like to put Tim Drake back into active service as the new Nightwing, that is unless anyone has any objections to it.

Origin (If not a new character, a recap of events leading to how your character got to what they are today):
Tim gave up his mantle after the events of Darkseids invasion, to mourn the loss of his friend and colleague Dick Grayson. After his mentor, Bruce, died at the hands of the Joker he vowed never to let another member of his surrogate family die at the hands of such mad-men. And so he hid the past from the likes of Jason Drake and John Gordon.
However, his plan fell apart when John learned of his heritage and went to Bludhaven to recieve training from Huntress. Tim realised that if he wanted to protect his surrogate son then he must train him as well, to keep him alive. Eventually Tim trained his son Jason to keep him safe from attacks.
With reluctance Tim watched his loved ones return to a life of death and danger, and soon realised that the best way to keep them safe was to join them. As the Batman title had already been taken, along with that of Robin, he took the role of Nightwing, out of respect for his dead friend Dick.
Personality: While never as cold and distant as Bruce Wayne had been, Tim has gradually become more cynical and untrusting of fellow crime-fighters.
Three reasons why you have chosen that character:
1) I wanted to be the original Nightwing, but you'd killed him off already...
2) I thought the fact that Tim Drake would sit back and watch the people he cared about get hurt kind of odd.
3) Nightwing was always my favourite hero, and Tim Drake was my favourite Robin.

Im planning to make the fact that John Gordon has recruited Jason Drake as his side-kick and issue for him.

Tim pulled the zipper up the on the back of the suit. Jason he didnt know about his new identity, but he did. Its kind of hard to hide things like that from one of the worlds better detectives. He knew a lot of things that Jason and John didn't want him to know. So now John had entered into the family trade and decided to drag Jason down with him. Great, just great.
He supposed he should just talk to Jason and sort everything out. But that was hard, and he'd probably never listen anyway. That was the problem with this family, everyone thinks they know best. Tim put the mask on his face. He may be a thirty-something now, but there were somethings you never forget. And he'd realised, the best way to protect the ones you love is to join them.
He pulled open the window and sat on the ledge for a second. The only identity left for him was *****' old one. Nightwing. He had convinced himself, that it was the only way. Dick would've approved, he was always like that. But would Bruce? No...Bruce never approved. He launched himself from the ledge and landed cat-like on the opposite roof.
"Gotta remember how to land," he grunted. He picked himself up and jumped into the night.
