The Doctor Doom Thread

He looks AMAZING.....hope it's real

Yeah, looks great. And also looks very similar to the other leaked image we saw a while back, so they could both be legit.

And this one has a style that seems very consistent with production art while looking different than fan art, so it looks credible to me.

One thing that stuck out for me is that despite his cloak being missing, I see that his look resembles his first appearance in issue 5 or when he invades Latveria in Books of Doom...either way, I love it...who knows the full context of what is going on in his cameo

Doom news coming in like a flood. DO NOT CLICK IF YOU DONT WANT TO BE SPOILED

From reddit:
-from DanielRPK: Doom will make a post credit scene cameo in BP2
-he will have a stand in like Thanos in Avengers 1
-apparently he was behind Lake Bell (whatever that means)

Also:

GGTC: “It’s implied he’s been around for awhile. He’s on throne. Cape, the works. Think Burch and Klaue as chess peaces they’ve been behind. I wouldn’t be shocked if no dialogue atm. Closing in on the casting.”

comment from reddit
Well if he has been around for awhile and already has control over Latveria it goes against a younger version of Doom and the Four, unless they make Doom older than Reed which would be a little bit disappointing (it would change the same age pals competition troupe by the younger version is better than me troupe) or make all of it unrealistically happen in such a little time, or maybe retcon his origin and make him inherit the throne instead of getting it (what would make him a whimsical nobiliary rich kid so please no) and also get all his network of influences from his family. I mean it seems to imply that he has had time enough get to the throne which is a very nice thing to see (like this is not something that happens one day to another but a masterplan in the dark that takes some years or the sudden effects of this masterplan but something that distinctive for the character should not be a minor achievement). And I honestly think that suits better with a 30-40 something Doom and therefore Reed, but that’s my point of view of course.

Good, let's get this show on the road.

I really dont want him as Doom but for some reason my spidey sense is telling me Disney might cast The Mandolorian as Doom Pedro Pascal

hoping and praying it is Coster Waldau though

according to danielrpk the person in the Doom image meeting him in the post credits scene is revealed to be:

Madame Hydra

So if all of this is true and it seems like it fits, then this is just getting better and better...first off, since the image is a "pre-visual concept pic" that means additional work will be done but the overall pic screams comic book accuracy which is what I think we can all agree, they got it and I am sure his cloak will be in the scene. Second, one of the spoilers mentioned Lake Bell which means I guess she might be someone working for Doom (possibly Lucia Von Bardas???). Third, if the person Doom is meeting is Valentina then the rumored connection to the Thunderbolts and other aspects will be connected to Doom is all true...I love having Doom pull multiple strings across the globe...

Ideally, I’d like the FF film, like FF #1, to take place relatively shortly after the accident with Reed and Ben in their 30’s.

That would put Doom also in his 30’s and established with 10 years in armor and nearly as many years on the Latvarian throne.

I'm guessing that Doom survived the Snap and used those five years to aggressively expand his global influence while everything was in chaos.

Having high-ranking government officials and criminals as puppets makes sense (Thaddeus Ross, Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Sharon Carter, Justin Hammer, Sonny Burch, Ulysses Klaue). Heck, throw a curveball and make Everett Ross an agent of his (albeit against his will).

As cool as all this is, if true, it’s kind of a bummer they couldn’t have hit us with it as a complete surprise…

… and an even bigger bummer if it doesn’t happen now.:waa:

Spoilers have never bothered me, honestly. And as often as things get messed up, I actually like to hear some things before I go into a theater, it kind of dilutes the disappointment if I know what's coming. And if it weren't for the Krasinski spoilers, I might not have gone to see Doctor Strange 2 at all. Would have caught it streaming, for sure.

Yeah.
I don't think Doom has to be all that old to be a ruler of a nation for awhile.
He could be in his 30s or even 40s and still be a ruler of a nation like Latvaria for a decade.
He doesn't need to have ruled for 20 years for his impact to be felt in that country.

I think it's more interesting if Doom has only been power for like a decade or so, because you'll have loyalist to him but also some Doom deniers who may be loyal to the former party heads.

personally i don’t believe any of it - none of it. I pretend its all BS. until it is Kevin Feige presenting it at SDCC or D23 in an official capacity. That way im never disappointed lol. What was it? Expect the worst hope for the best

I'm eager to find out who they cast. They have to go big with this one.

based on the concept art it appears to be someone that is a male mammal that has a head and a body and stands upright. So far so good…

Well you know if Doom really is the mid/end credit of BP: WF, Feige wouldn't clearly announce that...much like he didn't announce Damion Poitier as Thanos mid credit in Avengers 1....it is assumed that all of this coming out is pretty legit and as I said if all the stuff tied to Doom is true, they are getting the character done right early...his looks, his machinations/hands tied into multiple people and projects over the last few years....we only have 4 months to go.....

99% of the time, I say give me spoilers. Including Krasinski - which I thought was fun but not huge because he was a variant rather than the start of Reed in the MCU.

In this case, if true, it would have been such a great, huge moment if it came as a surprise.

It would remind me of some comic books I’ve read in which, when I got to the last page, BOOM there’s Doom, and I couldn’t wait for next month.

^ good argument for not watching any trailers- i mean i could stop posting here but im too excited for the Fantastic Four to be done justice

Doom definitely seems like an early bloomer. He's not going to sit around wondering what to do with his life, he's going to set his goals and get out there and achieve them.
