The Election Night Thread - Part 1

I don't like it but a guy on good morning Britain made a good point Hilary felt like she was entitled to this and it was a sure thing which may have cost her a lot of voters

This is sadly true. Hillary for the past few years (and maybe even before that) was treating the 2016 as her ascending to the throne, as though the country owed it to her. The DNC didn't see the writing on the wall. I don't think the GOP did either, but Trump hammered through regardless and the GOP had to support his campaign.

I just don't get how Hillary freaking Clinton got bamboozled by this guy.

he doesn't look happy with the outcome.

I've never been one for Hillary, but the country is falling apart and a lot of people are going to look to her to give them hope and peace of mind. A lot is riding on her a lot more than any mere exit speech, this is close to a major blow close to an attack. She can't blow it.

I agree, that's why it is important that she gives that speech tonight and that it's a good one to place pressure on Trump.

Trump is going to give his victory speech and nobody is going to listen tomorrow what Hillary has to say after the fact.

She's waiting on all the votes to be in. There's still several uncounted votes, and I don't doubt she'll be waiting on the popular vote as well, to call out the electoral college. She wants to push this to the last possible second, and I honestly don't blame her.

A lot of voters are going to sleep or are sleeping. So you want her to give an important speech like that when more than half the country is sleeping?

No, after Trump gives his speech many will look to other political leaders and venues to give them peace of mind. Our Admiral Ackbars and Mon Mothmas will be listened to closely.

Because the DNC didn't do a good enough job understanding the undecided angry voters that wanted extreme change. That's really all I can come up with.

Michael Moore may have got the previous two elections wrong, however he was right this time. Said that Trump doesn’t need Colorado or Virginia, --just Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Moore was obviously speaking about the rust-belt USA --where he & his family came from.

http://www.alternet.org/election-2016/michael-moores-5-reasons-why-trump-will-win

1. The Rust Belt/Brexit Strategy
"Mitt Romney lost by 64 electoral votes. The total votes of [Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania ]... 64," Moore told Maher. "All he has to do is win those four states."

2. The Trump Family

3. Make America Great Again? How About Just Reality Television

4. Angry White Men Vote

5. The Two Sides Don't Even Talk Anymore

Dana Bash on CNN is saying that it's saying if the shoe was on the other foot the Democrats would be screaming on the roof tops. They are all saying they don't understand it.

Where's Stone Cold Steve Austin when you need him?

Anyone see that Clinton will not give a speech tonight? Even if she loses she's not going to give a concession speech. That's the exact elitist type of attitude that cost her this freaking election. She could give a speech to try to put pressure on Trump to make sure h brings this country together instead her ego is too bruised that she can't face the American people. Absolutely pathetic.

He's not my president! There's no bringing this divided country together. The sooner people realize that the better

To me it makes sense. You saying people will stop caring and only listen to Trump now makes absolutely no sense to me. A rebellion will form and rise listening to politicians on how to defeat the empire, perhaps now more than ever since it's real. This is not a speech one pulls out of their butt nor one someone gives when half the country is asleep. It is clearly not an average election.

Clinton has called Trump to concede the election, according to CNN. ****

Ridiculous.
