What's wrong with Phastos being the gay character?

Exactly. Side character being gay is just a Little Gimmick with some jokes About it instead a real Story arc.

He's not a side character, the same way Drax was not a side character on gotg. He might not get the most screentime, but this is an ensemble cast, I bet most have an important role to play. Tptb emphasized on the importance of his character, I'm sure he won't be sidelined.

Really though? Then why is Ikaris always front and center in the comics and not Phastos? You're telling me Phastos would get the same screentime as Ikaris in the movie based on what? Because they said its ensemble cast? There are so many movies and tv shows with an "ensemble cast" but not everybody got to play the lead/most important role.

As for Gotg, we all know who is the lead character of those 2 movies, that's Star Lord.

And what did Drax do much besides make wierd conversations or do funny one-liners in GOTG2, and Infinity War?

He's obviously going to have an an arc. Do you think that after what Kevin feige said about this character that he would be sidelined? I don't see that happening, infact, looking at how they are selling this film, I don't think anyone will be sidelined.

I'm not sure Ikaris is always front and center. I've seen both Gilgamesh and Sersi get more attention at times due to their Avengers connections. I haven't read it, but isn't Mikkari the lead in Gaiman's run?

Time will tell. But if its only a side character they will not go full Risk. China/Russia Money wont let that happen.

Very impressive work to achieve what he achieved. Of course, all with the help of a trainer. It pays to be in a Marvel movie, fitness-wise.
