Eternals The Eternals General Disscussion and Speculation thread

I guess it's worth mentioning that the leaked character description called "Karen"/Margo Damian a "timeless leader", which makes me believe that she won't be a simple archaeologist. Perhaps she's a dormant Eternal or something

But I will probably end up being more interested in the Eternals themselves.
Yeah, that's pretty much inevitable.

I’m pretty sure Sersi is the lead/focus for this film.

If that's the case then I don't see how the main character can be a regular human.

If they play it smart they can plant the X-Men seeds in this movie.

For me mutants shouldn't have anything to do with aliens or experimentation. They should be the natural evolution of humanity that is what makes their persucution by humans so tragic.

Those things don't have to be mutually exclusive.
The source material does have a link between Eternals and human mutants: The Celestials.

Including them doesn't mean mutants aren't a natural result of evolution.

Yes the celestial experimented on eternals. That is not natural evolution.

When were mutants linked to eternals and celestials? They weren't when i was a kid.

Anyway it looks like eternals will be an alien race and not have much to do with humans. Which is fine by me.

Since the very first issue of Eternals. The Celestials experimented on early humans and gave them the latent ability to evolve into mutants, they planted the seeds for the X-Gene in their DNA. Technically, Selene was the very first "mutant" and Apocalypse was born a few thousands of years before the mutant boom in the 1900s.

Gaia prompted primitive humans, called "natives" to approach the Celestials. The aliens used them as test subjects and divided them into three groups. 1 group became the Eternals, the 2nd the Deviants and the 3rd was baseline humanity, but left with the potential of becoming more, which is where we got mutants after eons. The implication being that it would be the culmination of the evolution process anyway, just that the Celestials sped it along or nudged it.
I remember there is info on which Celestial was in charge of which group, but I can't recall the details now.

Do you this will be like the SW prequel where it slyly shows the rise of Thanos within the Eternal trilogy but at same time not be obvious about it...like he's a background character in the first one...in the second he's abit more in it...and in the third one we see him go full evil...maybe showing the first time he tried to get the stones

I think that could be interesting. Archaeology is something that hasn't been touched upon in the MCU and a non-powered or superhero lead could be something unique. Whatever ends up happening, I trust Marvel at this point.
The very issue of Eternals sort of had that feel. It was a group of archaeologists trying to discover the history of the Celestials. One of those archaeologists was "Ike Harris" who turned out to be Ikaris of the Eternals in disguise.

Love that guy's videos. He's very knowledgeable and researches the stuff well... He makes a couple of minor mistakes in that one, probably because of time constraints, but overall it's perfect in conveying the gist of the subject matter.

I like when he gets hyped lol

His interview with Tom hardy for venom was brilliant. Pity the media twisted hardy's answer.

I don't know if it's true but if it is, there's no way it's not Hercules.

Or should I say Gay-rcules :rimshot:

Hercules please. I want that character in the MCU pronto.
