Apocalypse THE EVAN PETERS / QUICKSILVER LOUNGE - "Take it slow, Peter"

The point of them reasoning with Mystique instead of just capturing and imprisoning her is that they couldn't just keep her couped up forever. She's Mystique - she's going to get out and continue on with her quest at some point or another.

They had to let her make the decision not to kill for herself while trying to appeal to her emotionally. Of course, Professor X could have just mind wiped her but than that goes against everything he was suppose to learn about himself in the movie so.
They could have kept her locked up forever fairly easily.

Xavier could have mind-****ed her.

Magneto could have just killed her.

Her actions cause the obliteration of Earth as we know it. Why take the risk? Because that was the plot. In the real world Quicksilver could shut her down, they'd lock her up, explain the consequence of her actions on the future and then work from there.

But that wasn't the arc they wanted for the characters. Now would it have made for an interesting movie.

That's one of the dumbest things I've read.

Magneto was trying to kill her, but the X-Men got in the way and tried to reason with her.
Had they wanted to, they could have easily neutralized Mystique. I mean, if they can lock up Magneto, they can lock Mystique up too. The thing is the story's built around Jennifer Lawrence, so Mystique has to somehow figure into the central plot.

And I do think the film will gross highly. They just have to make sure they go heavy on Lawrence and maybe get a few cameos from the original cast.

Cameos from the original cast would bring more interest to the film like it did when Famke/James Marsden appeared at the end of X-Men: Days of Future Past. It was amazing!

In all fairness it was the government who locked up magneto while there was nothing to lock raven up for until she committed the crime and even if they did she could either escape or trask could still experiment on her because he will know where she is now and will create the sentinels

so it would have to been Charles and Hank who prison her to be on the safe side and they were not likely to want that because of their relationship with raven, plus she could escape ect ect

After all Charles even let magneto go at the end when he could have let him be captured again

And I do think the film will gross highly. They just have to make sure they go heavy on Lawrence and maybe get a few cameos from the original cast.

Unless fox feel lawrence has to carry the movie to keep people interested aka wolverine in X2 & X3 then going heavy on Jennifer Lawrence won't make anymore money then showing she is in the film at all in the trailers, and original cast cameos won't matter much because it's doubtful they would be in the trailers so no one will know until they see the film and then it won't make or break the movie

They're not gonna kill the characters off-screen if they do indeed die.

Is he the one that being crushed by Apocalypse in the trailer or was that Havok?

According to Singer's trailer breakdown, Quicksilver's scene here is his biggest sequence in the movie. If I were to wager a guess, I think it's when The Horseman attack the Mansion, and Quicksilver runs into save the kids. Like this kid for example:

eventually heading into the Sub-basement level.

I can't wait to see how it all comes together!

The slow motion indicates that this is another shot from the major Quicksilver sequence. “This is tonally different to the Pentagon sequence, and a little bittersweet,” says Singer. “I’ll leave it at that.

It's probably gonna be a tragic sequence where Quicksilver fails to save some of the students. Interesting flip of the original DOFP scene tonally.

True, true. Singer said the stakes would be high during his sequence.

I thought it was a Jean Grey scene. Good to know that Bryan clarified what this scene is.

Cool to see that they're pushing the technical boundaries with Evan. Didn't expect the school to be straight up demolished with Peter trying his best to save everyone. That'll be quite the character development for him though to not be able to save everyone despite his enormous powers, and I hope they really let Evan sink his teeth into this role.

According to singer he has a sequence that took a month and a half to film and it may only be on screen for a few minutes

Hopefully it's at least longer than the Pentagon Scene in DoFP, with another cool song attached to it.

I think Evan said he shot for 22 days with the secondary unit to do his standout sequence. Singer said 17, so perhaps there's two sequences this time? One for where he clearly can't save everyone and one that's more lighter? If there's a sequence for when Quicksilver fails to save everyone I doubt Singer would overlay it with 80s music and make it tonally lighter.

I really hope he's more than a deus ex machina in this.
