Apocalypse THE EVAN PETERS / QUICKSILVER LOUNGE - "Take it slow, Peter"

It's weird... but I wasn't really as much a fan of QS this time around. When he sequence started I got a huge smile on my face, but by the end of it I was kinda... meh. Not sure why. I did like some of the scenes about his relationship with Magneto, but other than that... I expected to like him a lot more.

I will say this. Evan Peters' had my favorite line in the movie.

"We don't know bro!"

His meeting with Magneto had me rolling my eyes.

I just hate that they might drag that to the next film which would mean more Magneto!

Quicksilver once again steals the whole show.

I also don't really see why
he didn't just go: "I'm your son".
I did like the moments between the two, but that was weird to me.

It made no sense to me.

I get that Peter had some dad issues and issues with Magneto being his dad, but the whole movie had been building to that. Apocalypse and the Horsemen just leveled a highly populated series, and Magneto was using his powers to basically destroy the world. Like Mystique and Peter should've been doing anything they could to reach Magneto's humanity. Peter's just like, "Hey bro I'm just here."

Like seriously, the fate of the world is at stake and you are just going to stand there and be like, "hey yo it's cool." Hated that moment.

I think Quicksilver deserves to have his own ongoing comics. :)

There was literally zero reason for [BLACKOUT]him to not tell Magneto he is his son[/BLACKOUT], I hated that.

His run in the mansion was amazing, though.

Quicksilver was outstanding again, he was a scene stealing presence. Love the mansion save sequence. I kinda wish he told Magneto the truth. Hopefully in the next film it's revealed with Wanda introduction.

"We don't know bro!"
that had me rolling

my favorite scene;

yo when he starts taking out Apocalypse and beating him around like a rag doll, yo that was incredible. Best use of super speed. Yo His highlight reel is gonna be insane

What exactly is the issue with him not just saying
"I'm your son"?

He doesn't want to be.

He can't quite accept it, so he doesn't say it.

During
his first meeting with his father, his father, a well known terrorist, is leveling a city. He doesn't want to accept that this is his father.

I thought it was a touching moment.

Hews street again, if it's wasn't for the Wolverine cameo and The
Pheonix, he would have been the best part of the movie again.

His scene stealer was awesome. Love that they gave him more moments and development.

Only thing that was wrong was [BLACKOUT]that he upstaged Havok's weak death. But that's a writing issue. The death of Havok should not have been off screen and right by such an entertaining moment for the audience. [/BLACKOUT]

He didn't upstage
Havok's death.

They didn't even realize Havok was dead until the scene was over. He was the one person who couldn't be saved. There's an entire sequence devoted just to Scott's reaction
.

That was probably the right way to handle it.

Which is why it was poorly handled , [BLACKOUT]my friend literally asked me at the start of the QS in the X hallway if Havok was dead. It completely upstaged it. [/BLACKOUT]

agreed.
what you want the guy to be blow to bits on screen??

They couldn't [BLACKOUT]show him engulfed right away because it would affect the QS tone. Havok was just gone. It was poorly placed, and honestly antoher poorly handled death. He blows himself up so Quickilsver can have a fun secene. People should not be wondering if a character was killed during a scene where audiences want to cheer. It's a complete contradicting tone. [/BLACKOUT]

What they should have done was[BLACKOUT] have someone else blow up the school, map out that when an X-Men is about to die it should probably be more important, cut the fun at the end and visually show QS try and save him. Quicksilver was great, but Havoks death was pretty friggin stupid. Show me Quicksilver actually failing to save someone, don't talk about it like an after thought. [/BLACKOUT]

His speedy scene in this movie felt out of place. Given the very serious scene that had just occurred, the jump into his pretty goofy scene was jarring to me. I didn't feel anything during his scene because it felt like too much of a contrast and it was a bit off-putting, imo.

The more I think about it, the more I less appreciate the scene.

And what Quasimodo said.

They made the scene a bit goofy.

Behind the scenes look at how the extraction was filmed. In retrospect, the entire sequence was filmed in about three weeks and required a lot of practical effects to get the work done, so if they cut them down in the future they can probably save some of budget because I think we get diminishing returns on these.

Why he can't travel in time is beyond me.

He is way faster than Marvel's QuickSilver and tv Flash.

The way how everything stops around him like that looks light speed or even faster and no way Apocalypse could have catch him ever like that.

And his powers seem more like time-slowing than actual speed. Because there are times when he's just stopped and not even moving but everything is still going slow
