The Expendables 3 - Part 1

All of the call backs were good without being overtly corny and overdone like in the last one.

Arnie: "I lied."

Banderas: "Not yet."

etc.

Ford as a combo of his Jack Ryan and Han Solo.

Grammer's handler was awesome. So funny.

Gibson channeling that Riggs intensity.

Banderas/Sly and Wesley/Sly chemistry still sharply intact.

More Dolph :word:

The new recruits were ho hum though the Powell guy was probably the most interesting out of the 4 but it had more good than bad and I'm definitely catching it on the big screen.

I think this movie is tied with Cap America 2 for best action scenes in the beginning of the films

yo...how come Samuel L Jackson never had a cameo. He wouldve been/would be great

I thought it was pretty boring. The action just doesn't do it for me anymore. The best parts of it were the interactions and the meta comments.

I chuckled when Doc revealed he was in prison for tax evasion.

Damn. I keep hearing you guys saying its boring. That doesnt bode well for a movie thats supposed to be a popcorn action flick. :(

Worst movie ive watched this year.

Bad action, acting, humor, characters, everything. Nothing positive to say about it. The best thing is Gibson, but his talent's wasted here.

Expendables 1 was bad, but its over the top violence was still somewhat entertaining. I gave it 5.5/10.

Expendables 2 was entertaining due to the character interactions humor and energy. I gave it 6.5/10.

This one, I give 2/10. A passionless generic action movie.

You guys are breaking my heart. Was so looking forward to this. :( :( :(

I'll still be checking it out but I had a feeling this one would turn out overall weaker,How would you all rank the films so far?

Was it better than the last 2 films? 2 had some decent bits with the villain, but was otherwise not very good in my opinion.

I didn't think it was that bad. If you liked the first two you should have fun with this one.

Ok, phew. I thought the first one was good not great. I thought #2 was awesome, so much guilty pleasure fun.

The movie was a letdown. Gibson was underused which is too bad as he was good in this movie. The core of the original cast is just set aside to turn up later in the movie. Terry Crews is barely in the movie, same for Jet Li.I had expected more Schwarzenegger scenes. I had not expected so much Harison Ford so that's a plus. Glen Powell didn't have much to do in the end battle.

The story is very weak. And what I really hated was that Gibson runs into a building that is about to explode by his own explosive just for hand to hand battle with Stallone. The end fight was weak and way too short. I didn't like that they
both jump to grab a gun to shoot the other.

Banderas was one of the highlights of the movie. I had not expected such a role for him, but it was great.

I had a feeling there was subplot deleted about the Kellan Lutz character.
In the movie he looks at the secret files about Stonebanks and there's an shot of him looking very concerend at Stonebanks' tattoos. I had a feeling that Stonebanks was responsible for killing his former teammates or so, by the looks at Kellan Lutz's face.

Btw, what was in the end of the movie with Schwarzenegger and Li?
Are they gay (I though Li had a family he mentioned in part 2) or just drunk?

I'm not really a fan of movie piracy. But my buddies have told me it doesn't have the series staple of ridiculous kills, which really dampens all my excitement.

Let me ask you guys, on a base "popcorn-action-movie level," does it at least deliver on that? All I want from this film is it to be afun film with Stallone and his buddies kicking ass. I've never expected anything more than that. Does it at least deliver that?

That's exactly what this movie is and why I loved it. It was a straightforward fun action packed "check your brain at the door" action flick. My favorite characters in this movie were Snipes and Bandares. I said it before, and I'll say it again, the EXPENDABLES movie franchise is how the G.I. JOE movies should have been done (in regards to to tone and action/fight scenes). Hell, in some respects the Expendables are more like the JOE team then the actual movie version of G.I. JOE.

I think that the premise of The Expendables should be that some of the members are "expendable" in every movie, so they have to keep replacing them with new guys in the sequel. But Stallone just wanted the franchise to be safe and harmless fun, instead of one that is not just action-packed but unpredictable. I won't be surprised if GA will grow wary by the third movie of the trilogy.

I disagree. A sure fire way to kill this franchise is to start killing off the main characters that this franchise is built around. I should also point out that the name of the movie and team does not necessarily have to be taken literally from a story point of view. Also, as we saw in the 2nd movie and which was pointed out in the 3rd movie, a number of Expendables were killed in action.

I asked my friend who saw it. He said they where just goofing around like buddies.

Nah, he saw expendables tattoo.

Just saw it and I loved it. This one probably has the best climax out of the three. They actually worked as a team.
