The FFINO ZONE - Part 1

From the sound of it, it doesn't look like Fox will be able to do a sequel. They got the characters' personalities all wrong. They should just give the FF back to Marvel along with all the cool stuff bundled with them (Kang, Negative Zone, Surfer, Galactus, Skrulls, Subterrania, Badoon, Elders of the Universe, etc.) and hopefully poach 100% off the X-Men merch revenue with it alongside certain IP from the X-Men to own shared rights to (Brood, Shi'Ar, Taskmaster, Viper, Cytorrak and Juggernaut, possibly also D'Spayre if Fox own him). Fox get X-Men TV rights and two or three billion dollars.

It's not like Fox are lacking in sci-fi franchises when they own Alien and Predator. Just don't allow Josh Trank anywhere near either of those and we're good.

Disney bought the entire Marvel catalog of characters and a studio for 4 billion, and Iger offered around a billion dollars for Spider-Man. There is no way they are buying the FF for 2 billion dollars when it's darn near a toxic property at this point.

Oh my lord

That has to be a joke, right? Yeah, that can't be serious.

It isn't. I've read a bunch of reviews say the same thing. Plus you can tell when they reshot because of the blatantly different wig that Kate is wearing

We're getting word now that Thing isn't just Bell's voice. So...there's that at least.

If I do end up seeing this film, I'm expecting boredom. Not a great new franchise starter, or the hilarious bomb some of us might've been hoping for.

but at least this failure means people still have to see the FF. I'm relieved this version will not be embraced as the definitive take on the characters

One of the few silver linings here...

Kinberg wasn't the problem. He's the guy who fired Trank over this atrocity.

Kinberg is a mediocre asshat who was also involved in the travesty that is XMen THe Last Stand.
He had his mits in this, he gets the blame as much as Trank and FOX.

Just read on twitter

unconfirmed if true

Two really awful things i just read from reddit

"The only reason they go to the other dimension is because Reed, Doom and Johnny get drunk. Seriously. It is awful and people will probably be talking about how ****** this set-up is for years."

And

"There's a very sudden time jump of 1 year roughly an hour into the film that feels like it was tacked on in reshoots"

Horrible.

Jesus...I learn one less awful thing and then come to this thread and two new awful pieces of info come forward.

That spoiler in particular just seems like literally nothing but a "**** you" to fans of the comic. Ridiculous.

He also wrote Sherlock Holmes and Days of Future Past. By most accounts, Trank locked him out of the editing room.

Fox have a tendency to hold on to Marvel properties which they have no idea what they want to do with until the last second. Remember Daredevil? They won't give up unless Marvel offer a boatload of cash.

Fox has a toxic brand on their hands. The FF are either going into stasis or they are going home. I believe Fox will hold these rights out of spite. And yes I hate them for it. But if 7 years from now Fox execs want to make yet another FF film - they have a lot of explaining to do to their stockholders. I don't think it happens.

Is anyone else a little concerned that if this movie is a legitimate flop, one of the only lessons myopic studio execs will take out of it is, "Well, guess black superheroes don't sell"?

Leaked emails have proven that this line of thinking has contributed to the absence of female leads in superhero films, because films like Catwoman, Elektra, and Supergirl were such notorious flops.

Then they'll end up with nothing. Disney bought Lucasfilm for $4 billion.

Studios have idiotic reasoning so who knows? All three of those films are terrible so you'd think the message would be, stop making crappy movies starring women.

I hope not. The message should be "Don't tell the fans to #$@! off and expect big returns."

No. Maybe Fox because they're dumbasses. But marvel studios and WB are already doing their thing with black superheroes and they don't need to look at the crappiest CBM studio for lessons.

I think, these days, that would happen only if the reviews were good and the box office was bad.

Well, I can see Fox canceling the sequel and then picking Alien 5 or Predator 4 for that release date.

I just can't see them sitting on this for another 7 years. They tried the 616 origin and failed terribly. Then they used the UFF origin and failed again. They'll probably sell it back but it'll be at a price.
