"Aggressively mundane."

And keep in mind that IGN is owned by Fox and they still panned it hard with nothing good to say about it other than it's, "watchable."

Ok thanks.

Here's a quote:

Ben is a late addition to their ranks and you never see him actually interact or get to know anyone on the team other than Reed. Whatever bonding they had happened off-screen. So when the team finally gets together for the final act battle against Doom, there’s no sense of fun, excitement or achievement.

Whatever the faults of the Story films, they managed to capture the dynamic between Johnny and Ben really well. It seems like there is none here whatsoever.

And here's more along those lines from another review:

http://www.beliefnet.com/columnists/moviemom/2015/08/fantastic-four-2.html

The characters are dull and all seem to be acting in separate bell jars, with no indication that there is another human being in the scene. Even when they are supposed to be friends, siblings, parent and child, or possible romantic partners, they act as though the other person was a tennis ball hanging in front of a green screen

There is no bad guy in the history of the characters who has inflicted as much damage on the F4 as this sorry, soggy mess.

Now I want to see a low-budget version of FF done with 4 different tennis balls. Unofficial of course.

Hishe, Honest Trailers and Cinema sins are gonna have field day with this thing...

"sphincter-blistering idiocy" is gonna be hard to top though :cwink:

Do you guys think when Trank meant that this film will have body horror he was less referring to Cronenberg and more about the audience's revulsion and bodily pain when watching this film?

No way am I going to watch this movie during Opening Weekend.

Every single ticket bought/used is a vote of support for Fox to continue to mutilate these characters.

This has to flop on the BO for Fox to consider returning the rights to Marvel.

I am gonna 'acquire' the film when it's flowing from the channels.

Its sad that the Tim Story movies seem better then this one, at least the Tim Story movies were somewhat colorful and less self serious then this film is.

Yeah guys..I can understand the curiosity...I'm curious to see just how awful it is myself (but not so much that I cannot wait until it hits my movie channels)

But for the love of God, if you are paying, please don't go opening weekend. Any ticket bought this weekend is a tiny victory for Fox.

X-Men and FF are like the last 2 infinity stones Mickey needs for his gauntlet.

I almost wish this film had a workprint version.

The workprint version of Wolverine Orignis made it tolerable.

For those of you talking about seeing it, I'm not going to tell you not to. It's your business, it's your time, it's your money.

But with Dark Raven's permission, I do want to remind you of something:

Do you really want to fulfill that prophecy?

Josh Trank just blamed the studio for ruining the movie on Twitter!

Josh Trank just blamed the studio for ruining the movie on Twitter!

Hasn't he spent the last six months denying there were problems and saying he was directing reshoots etc.?

He knows that he isn't gonna be brought back by Fox so **** it!

If he had done that 6 months ago, I might respect him. But he rode it right up until this point, telling people how all the haters would be proven wrong on August 7th, etc.

Then, when the reviews come out, he jumps ship.

I guess he thinks that he needs to publicly throw FOX under the bus before FOX does the same to him.

Awww and so begins the legend of the "Josh Trank cut".

And um I hate to be "that guy". But "I before E except after C".

I'm sure it's upsetting though to see your work so widely panned. You can accept it more if the final product was what you actually intended - even if people don't love it at least you can own it.

I feel Trank bet on the wrong horse honestly. He never should have taken this job.

Ultimately, I blame Fox for this travesty more than anyone.

Kevin Bacon says it best:

Q: Well, based on all that, Kevin Bacon needs to join you in Spider-Man then, right? Chris Evans switched from a Fox Marvel movie to Marvel Studios, so there’s precedent.

Kevin Bacon: What’s a Fox Marvel movie compared to a regular Marvel movie?

A year ago I had a fantastic version of this. And it would've recieved great reviews. You’ll probably never see it. That’s reality though.

Josh Trank.
