The FFINO ZONE - Part 2

So, yeah, it seemed pretty obvious to anyone who was really paying attention that this film did seem really bad. I wasn't a detractor because of some agenda. I was a detractor because I honestly hated every real thing we saw or read. And the result is a film that is likely to soon surpass Catwoman as the worst comic-book film ever.

I really wanted the FF rights to revert to the MCU, so I was against this reboot before it even went into production. That being said, if FOX pulled a great FF film out of their butts I was going to watch it and enjoy it and hope that the two studios work something out behind the scenes.

The only time I had any hope for this film was back in October 2013 when Tom Hanks revealed in an interview that he had long wanted to play a superhero but had never been asked. My thinking was that FOX would immediately throw out the script for whatever Ultimate version they were working on and open their coffers to sign Tom up for Reed. Of course they decided to move forward with the genius Trank's vision, and here we are.

This will also be the last time any of these actors & one lone actress plays a Superhero. They may play some unknown indie one one day. But I dont see MARVEL or the WB ever hiring these people. They are cancer now to Superhero movies

Ryan Reynolds and Halle Berry both went on to play other heroes after their solos bombed.

I deeply resent being called a hater and a troll. I've never railed against a movie that hadn't been released before in my life. But this thing - you could see countless things wrong with it from the very beginning. It didn't take an Einstein to know this thing was gonna fail and that it was being made for all the wrong reasons. No love of the material. No passion. It was all to make a deadline to keep something going back to where it might actually find success. For Trank this was just a stepping stone to something better. Or so he hoped. We saw how that worked out.

And it's all Fox's fault. I like Willie's analogy about letting kids swim in the water even though you know there are sharks. Fox knew. Fox knew!

Otherwise why did they not scrap the whole project when they had concerns about Trank and approached other directors and nobody wanted the job? Why immediately after that news broke did they display a fake show of confidence and arrogantly announce FF 2 before a single frame of this film was even shot? Why did they lie again and again about what was really happening with this film? Why did they embargo reviews up until the very day of release? Why did they dishonestly extract statements out of context from negative reviews to pretend that critics were loving this during the embargo? And why did they remove their own 20th Century Fox logo from TV spots and only show the Marvel logo to pretend that this was somehow a Marvel Studios film?

This is dishonesty to the extreme. Fox has my complete and utter contempt.

I'm glad this film is getting its just desserts by being shredded by critics. Fox has lost their credibility. Now I hope this tanks so badly it hits them in the wallet. Maybe then that will make them wake up and stop pulling this garbage. This movie is just one giant eff you to all the fans and these kind of shenanigans are going to kill the genre.

Yeah, Howard the Duck could go in there too.

Are there any movies (not necessarily comic book ones) on RT that have actually 0% or even 1%?

I'm sure there are. I think the question at this point may be: "What is the lowest rated film that had a budget of $100 million or more."

That might be an interesting bar. I have a feeling this film could challenge whatever that other film is by the time this is done.

Grace Randolph liked it lol, I can't stand her and her most of her opinions though so I usually ignore anything she says.

I can't believe that this is getting panned worse than Catwomen. I thought i'd never see the day a comic book movie stooped to those levels.

A bad day for the genre.

I hope, like the Avengers, FFINO sets a record too. A record for the lowest grossing and worst reviewed CBM of all time.

Just found this list, and FF BLOWS THESE ALL AWAY. I don't see anything that even comes close:

http://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/9-of-the-worst-big-budget-movies-of-all-time.html/?a=viewall

And I just checked Water World (42%) and Heaven's Gate (57%).

Josh Trank may have achieved something really significant here. The lowest rated big-budget film ever.

Why on earth does GI Blues have a 0% rotten tomato rating? I thought that Elvis Presley film was okay. It had its cheesy moments, for sure, but it definitely is more watchable than FFINO and has some good songs too. That one seems unjustified, given that there are many other Elvis films out there that are actually worse than that one. It should really be higher up. It was better than the film with "Return to Sender" in it, whose name I can't remember.

Those other films we know are crap - Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles etc.?

None of those even come close to single digits.

It would be unfitting if FFINO ends up rating higher than GI Blues. :argh:

Interesting. I didn't realize there was a Supergirl movie, but I'm confident this will blow past that soon.

I think FFINO should rightly be lower than Supergirl. Supergirl wasn't Supergirl INO at all. Helen Slater's portrayal is still wonderful and she looks every bit the iconic superheroine. She is the best thing about that movie. Yes, the script and Faye Dunaway's hammy acting is bad, but Helen Slater is still beloved by fans.

This movie may have set CBMS back a bit, BVS, Deadpool & C:CW Need to really deliver all in a row.

I'd worry about any member of this production who thought they ended up with a good movie.
