Because this place is a madhouse. I think some of the bans were eased off a little because the movie actually deserves all of the bitter, snarky remarks it gets.

How do the mods keep track of who was banned for what reason? I would've thought once they're gone, the reason is forgotten.

Oh I'm the wrong person to ask. I've just noticed that we had a LOT of red lettered posts on this forum because it's so crazy here (not that I haven't contributed to that, mind you). I think those in charge have kinda realized this is a sort of venting place right now. This is one of the most bizarre, bull****, shady productions in recent memory. We sort of need an outlet.

I still can't believe that Sue is a war orphan from Eastern Europe or something in this movie. I admit I have yet to actually read a Fantastic Four comic, but that seems really weird. Kinda like making Batman's Alfred a big black man but in the case of FFINO not changing Sue's appearance...Or something.

When you get an infraction, there's a reason listed with the infraction. When you're banned, you're given a reason along with a return date. I assume any mod or administrator that looks at why a person is banned can see that infraction and the reasons attached.

So I take it you're glad they didn't make that Aronofsky Batman film years ago? :o

Making Sue a Kosovo war orphan for no apparent reason is weird, yes. The characters in this film were all changed for no apparent reason. I hear even Johnny's pretty out of character, which is odd seeing as MBJ played a decent Johnny Storm in Chronicle...

The only reason I can think of for them to have picked that backstory is that at some point they intended to do something with it, probably in the missing second act. Like the military try using Sue in a combat situation and she has reaction to seeing some civilians or something.

But I still suspect that a lot of the cut background (like expanding on Ben being bullied by his brother) was intended to build the idea that the characters all wanted the powers they got in some way. Ben wanted to be big and strong so he couldn't be bullied, Reed wanted to have been able to reach further to save Doom etc.

There was absolutely no reason to make Sue a Kosovo orphan. It didn't even play into the film whatsoever. It was completely arbitrary. They could have left it out and it wouldn't have made any difference. All she did was her fake Eastern European accent for one line, but that had no bearing on the plot whatsoever, just as her background didn't.

We can put notes in each person's profile about our dealings with them....plus, if a person gets an infraction, there is a thread automatically started about it in the staff's work area and quick links to that thread are in each person's profile that only the staff can see.

After the NYJ quarterback got his jaw busted by a teammate, Teller tweeted--"And I thought I was having a bad week!"
So, good show for a sense of humor, anyway.

I'd rather have my jaw busted . . .

Welcome back reprobates!

And stick to this thread. This is our safe place.:cwink:

Did Franklin Storm ever give that speech in the movie that he gave in the teaser trailer? The one which goes "How did we get this far? Human beings have an immeasurable desire to discover. To invent. To build. Our future depends on us furthering these ideas. Our responsibility that rests on the shoulders of generations..." etc

I don't recall that in the film at all.

**EDIT**EDIT**

There is a website story that says there are a lot of things in the trailers not in the movie....and most of his voiceovers from the promo material is missing from the movie - http://www.hitfix.com/harpy/12-scenes-from-the-fantastic-four-trailers-that-arent-in-the-film

Hey guys, I09 did this parody of the scenes in the moving pointing out the flaws in the movie. http://io9.com/the-most-important-scenes-from-fantastic-four-as-i-rem-1723363327

Here's the snippet of the after credits

Fox Executive #1: Holy ****

Fox Executive #2: …

Fox Executive #1: Oh, sweet Jesus. This is terrible.

Fox Executive #2: It is, but don’t panic.

Fox Executive #1: Don’t panic?! I just said I think this movie is terrible, and I’m the person who approved the X-Men Origins: Wolverine script!

Fox Executive #2: I know. I know! But panicking won’t help.

Fox Executive #1: (to assistant) Clara! Bring in the cocaine we take when we’re sad! Not the happy cocaine.

Fox Executive #2: Okay. We can fix this. We polled some nerds a while ago and asked what they wanted from a Fantastic Four movie… where is that sheet… ah ha! Okay, here it is.

Fox Executive #1: (does copious amounts of sad cocaine)

Fox Executive #2: Here’s what they said: A strong sense of family. Fun super-powers. Wild science fiction. The romantic relationship between Reed and Sue. The teasing relationship between Johnny Storm and the Thing. Marvel’s greatest villain, Dr. Doom being a badass. Just a general sense of fun.

Fox Executive #1: ...

Fox Executive #2: Okay. So this movie has absolutely none of these things.

Fox Executive #1: We’re so ******

Fox Executive #2: Yes we are. Pass the sad cocaine, please.

I don't want to sound like a gossip mag, but Katie Mara has been spotted at the airport after the FFINO weekend. Don't know if the article is making a fuss over what most celebrities do anyway, but she was avoiding eye contact wearing shades and supposedly looking glum, despite pictures of her with a little smile.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbi...-airport-Fantastic-Four-bombs-box-office.html
Celebrities wear sunglasses very often to hide in public.
The article and the comments are awful.

That is what I was thinking. If they had taken actual pictures of her looking crap, then it'd have some validity.

Criticize a very bad movie is funny.
But very personal critics like "poor little rich girl" is just mean.
