There was uncertainty about who should star. Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm was set from the start, but the studio wanted a different actor than Miles Teller for Reed Richards. Trank won that battle, even though he later developed a mutually disdainful relationship with the actor – but Fox insisted that Kate Mara be given the role of Sue Storm, and Trank treated her badly as a result. Some say he was cruel, others say merely cold. No one says they got along.

It came up. Confirmed that one of our own members had some legit scoops. The Mara rumor had been going around. It was hard to believe, though. This production really was a mess.

I remember the MAra rumor going around but i also seem to remember some members saying Trank was sexually harassing her. Maybe it wasnt on here, but I remember that and that's when I stopped holding stock in that particular rumor.

Some people took it that far, but the original rumor was more about severe verbal abuse. A comparison was made to Hitchcock and Grace Kelly, I believe.

No, this got exaggerated. The actual report (from Justanotherguy) indicated that someone working on the film told him that Trank was ignoring Mara and berating her and trying to make her feel "invisible". The person describing it said he thought he was Hitchcock or something.

Nothing beyond that was ever alleged, but when some people wanted to paint those of us who didn't like what we were hearing as wackos, they created exaggerated claims and then accused us of creating false and awful rumors because we were 'haters'.

Hey well, Ive made this point a bunch of times in other threads and I think a lot of Trank's supporters choose to ignore it so I'll say it again:

It's very telling that the rest of the FF cast rushed to Teller's defense when he was getting bad PR, but when it came to Trank they were all silent.

I dont see anyone can reasonably spin that. There is no way to spin in any other way.

I hope by next year or sometimes relatively soon someone in the cast is doing an AMA and can reveal more about what went down. I do like how the COllider story is painting the picture. Both parties are at fault with this.

Are people sure that this scene of Ben dropping out of a helicopter has been cut? He seems to drop out of something when he lands in the woods to confront Reed. Unless it's not the same scene.

That was a nice scene. The one in the movie is a day scene
