My wife said tonight so the whole episode was pointless then since traveled back to the beginning of the episode. I Said of course not given we the audience know who wells truly is and barry now can time travel.

Really? She's watching a show that the writers set up from the first episode, that there is a guy changing the past to alter the future. And she's complaining that what she just witnessed might change? LOL!

To her credit she hasnt watched the whole season but gets recaps from me and knows the main players and motives. I just laughed n shook my head but then again she thinks the show is corny sometimes but watches hgtv and E... Who am i marry too lol?

So the promo emphasizes SOMEONE has to die to compensate for Cisco being spared. Yet another death flag for Joe.

I was never a Flash fan, but damn... this season has single-handily owned every superhero tv/film and they're not even done yet.

Seriously, it is remarkable. Not scared to pull any punches or what have you...

I agree. I said it in another thread - this show could be compared to ANY superhero movie, and I'm dead serious. The material they're coming up with is phenomenal.

I'd say in general, this is one of the best superhero things ever produced, in any medium.

Except that even the whole "well now the audience knows this and that" excuse doesn't work imo since it's stuff that we ALREADY knew, or at least suspected:

-Wells is RF-We already knew that.
-Wells is a ruthless bastard-We already knew that.
-Barry has feeling for Iris-We already knew that.
-Iris is aware of said feelings-We already knew that.
-Wells is Eobard Thawne-A lot of people already guessed/suspected that.
-Barry can time travel-We already knew that.
-Etc.

Oh please. Stuff like Barry time travelling and having feelings for Iris is in the comics. Of course we knew that. I'm don't know much about Flash lore but I do know the basics. This show has made me a huge fan of the Flash. That's how damn good it is. If you don't like the way this show is headed, please ain't nobody is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to watch. Some of us enjoy the series. Even the predictable twists.

Just remember that those millions of people worldwide who watch this show, some are mainly CW fans and not comic book fans, so for them these reveals are good stuff.

The last 10 minutes I had my jaw on the floor...I mean holy crap!

I never read flash comics but the knew the character and his powers but most of the villians were unknown to me. Watching this Show as a general viewer and guessing and witnessing the reveals we have got have just been awesome. I truly believe this show can cater and unite all types of viewers and you dont have to be just a Comic fan just to get into the show. The dark knight acheived this same type of bridging between all types of viewers and made it accessible popular. Im not by no means saying flash is on that level but its abilities to be popular across the board are the same.

I wonder what matter more - the audience knowing or the characters knowing?

What matters is how episode 16 follows this all up, episode 15 will sink or swim depending on how 16 resolves the story arc.

Usually when they do a second part, it ends up being anticlimactic or falling flat.

I think he already is, but in the past. When he encountered his past self, it merged with him,

Some people just can't appreciate solid character development.

Which it would be, IF this all isn't undone next episode:

-Caitlin would realize that Wells isn't on the up and up.
-Iris would FINALLY know that Barry is the Flash.
-We'd have some plot progression on the Barry/Iris front in general.
-We'd see the fallout of Wells killing someone whom he seemed to care about.
-Etc.

But if everything gets reset, then all of that goes away.

No, it does not, whether or not it gets undone, we know how Cisco and Caitlin will feel about Wells betrayal, we know who Wells actually is and what his goals are, and we know where Iris stands, and so does Barry. none of that is truly undone, because we got a better understanding of every single major character on the show this episode, so stop acting like it is all undone. The plot has gone into rewind, not the character development, stop whining until you see how they resolve the time travel situation.

Interesting episode. Something made me wonder, though:

"To me, you've been dead for centuries."

And yet the future crisis date is in the 2020's (i think). So is Barry the cause of...whatever happens? How badly does this wreck the world? Is Wells going back in time to kill someone (from his perspective) who's created a huge body count and then disappeared? And if that's the case, what made Barry cause the crisis (if he did)?
