Again, they haven't indeed done that, but who says they won't? As I said earlier, I seem to recall one of the producers saying they will deal with the subject at some point.

Hey, fictional characters have feelings and rights, you know. :p

But seriously, the topic is an important one. The fictional stories we watch and read reflect society, and our views on the world. It is disturbing to watch Barry and his team toss people into a prison without the chance for a trial, and honestly, it's a little weird to watch. Barry has a connection with law enforcement, plus his dad is in prison unjustly. You would think that he would have shown a little more interest in the bare-bones existence the metas have.

Honestly, a few scenes of the team interacting with the metas in their prison cells (besides the ones where they snarl at each other) would have been welcome, interesting, and important for the viewers.

He talks about feeding them, movie nights, rec time.

Too little too late. It's subject matter that really should have been presented much earlier in the show. I mean, they cut out the scene with Caitlin bringing the metas their lunches or dinners, but that's all we've seen.

I read that, but I don't know how canon that actually is.

I think the writers didn't have anything like reflecting society in mind when they wrote this. It is just an example of lazy writing in a show that is otherwise pretty solid when it comes to that. They probably didn't think far enough into the future to realizes that this could become some kind of problem.

Regarding the scenes between the team and the captured metas - it probably didn't do much for the plot so that they didn't bother to include such. Aside from that, they also have to always keep the time in mind when doing an episode.

I think it is interesting what kind of discussion the whole thing with the metas in S.T.A.R. labs' prison has started but it probably isn't meant to hold any significance at all. I am pretty sure the writers wouldn't have bothered at all with explaining how the metas get their food or such if the fans hadn't picked up on it.

Lazy writing...the lazy excuse for the internet poster when they dont like something.

I don't see the big deal in it. It's just a jail cell. I don't think I've ever read a Batman comic in my life and thought, "you know what, I don't think those inmates are getting the treatment they deserve in Arkham. And look how dirty it is in there! Clearly it's an unsanitary place for any sort of living condition. Explain yourself DC!!!".

No, just my opinion on the topic with the prison of the show. Sorry if that somehow offended you.

Exactly, it isn't meant to mean more than as what it is presented in the show - a means to lock people away. Although I think Batman could take a page off the Flash show's book of how to lock prisoners away. Arkham has turned out to be not the most efficient place to hold them, after all. ;)

Are we really back on the the false imprisonment/conditions argument again? Get the **** over it already or stop watching the ****ing show.

If people wanna talk about it, let them. I think it is has become a rather threadbare argument by now but if someone still wants to say something to it, why not? That is the reason for a forum, after all, talking and sharing opinions.

You can always start to just skip the concerning posts.

Season 2 finale of Arrow made me wonder about the unethical imprisonment thing. I actually thought Slade was stuck in the ARGUS prison with no guards or other prison staff.

There were at least two guards shown (unconscious or dead at the time, IIRC)in the episode where he got out of his cell on the island.

He has Captain Boomerang to chat to (if their cells are near one another).

And hopefully, sooner or later, he'll also have Malcolm Merlyn to talk to as well.

So I was reading up on Captain Cold and Golden Glider. I was not surprised to see that Cold had supposedly died...but I was surprised that Lisa has been dead for a really long time. Now I'm wondering if she dies at some point, which leads up to Cold and Heatwave being recruited for the spin-off series.

Cold and Heatwave have been in a handful of episodes. They almost feel like regulars. I'd watch for Wentworth alone.

I meant in my last post to say that Cold had supposedly died, but he came back to life. Lisa is the one who has died, and remained dead, except for becoming a Black Lantern.

Yep. Always a go to excuse it seems.

:funny: exactly

Agreed :word:

Lisa has been alive for the duration of the New 52 and remains so.

Johns' Captain Cold spotlight issue was about him avenging her death and he's a writer, so I wouldn't be surprised.

So?

This show takes influence from every era of The Flash including the one where Lisa was dead for years. No just the new 52.
