Interesting that they're already bringing in Zoom, love that preview they gave for how he'll appear visually, great to see them visually separate him from Thawne, hope they keep Zoom's general backstory mostly intact.

Wait, isn't the Reverse Flash and Zoom the same characters? So, we're essentially getting the same main villain from season 1

So in the promo clip here, we see the Blue Speedster (Zoom, presumably) rambling all around Central City. What I found interesting is that he takes off down Holly Drive...which is the street Barry lived on when he was a child.

When and why is he going there? I am super, super curious to see what role he played in Barry's past.

Eobard Thawne is Professor Zoom, Hunter Zolomon is Zoom. Zoom is a different character with different motivations, Although I may be wrong, but wasn't Zoom the RF for Wally?

Sort of, I'd say Zoom wasn't really Wally's biggest adversary the way Reverse Flash was for Barry (I'd give the role of Wally's biggest adversary to Kadabra) since Zoom was introduced pretty late into Wally's run but he was definitely a huge villain for him after being introduced, but yeah, different character, hope they adapt Zoom's powers properly, since they're fairly interesting in that Zoom technically isn't a speedster.

No, Zolomon is just "Zoom" Professor Zoom/Reverse Flash is Eobard Thawne, the name can just be a bit confusing, Zolomon wasn't really Wally's mentor either so much as just an ally, he was the profiler for Keystone PD. The only Zolomon aspect I'd say they used was giving Wells a wheelchair, a purely visual nod.

I'm not a fan of that actress slated to played Patty Spivot. I saw a couple episodes of Messengers and something about the way she delivered her lines irks me.

From what I understand, Zoom/Zolomon was a cop who got hurt by Grodd and ended up in a wheelchair and hated Wally for not going back in time to prevent that accident.

The theory last season was that Eddie was a cop and a Thawne, so it seemed like he would be a mash-up of both. Once Wells was revealed as the RF, Eddie was though to be an interpration of Cobalt Blue/Malcolm Thawne, who I've heard in some places is actually a twin of Barry's that was separated at birth.

With all that said, it was interesting that this new Speedster left a blue trail. I wonder if there is a connection there, if maybe Eddie from the multiverse returns as a villain.

Zoom will be this universe's Eddie but with a lot more Cobalt Blue features.

Wells was Reverse Flash with a few Zoom aspects; wheelchair.

Eddie will be Cobalt Blue with a few Zoom aspects; cop and name.

I think to have three major villain speedsters would be too much for the series so they've merged them into three. Looking forward to Barry's reaction to yet another speedster villain, hopefully we see character development in how to deal with it and not revert to being dumb. It will also be interesting to see how Wells reacts to it. I can see him trying to protect Barry this season to stop Zoom killing him.

So... Zoom is faster than RF. RF is faster than Flash and never lost a fight against him. Uh how the hell is Flash is supposed to fight Zoom? Team up with Jay Garrick? Swap places with future Flash?
