If the CW are smart, they will put Arrow and Flash back-to-back and make it look like DC Nation hour. It will be a good two hours of our time with Arrow and the Flash.

I hope Flash and Arrow are back to back. Would be a pretty great 2 hours. And if there's crossovers it could be like a movie and it continues from one episode to the other.

Like the old Buffy/Angel days...That would be so fantastic.:woot:

Or even better, considering Smallville managed to get a double length episode for the finale and Absolute Justice would be to have two Arrow episodes and two Flash epsiodes meaning they'd have a 140 min film (with a week inbetween :o).

Well lets not get crazy. :o

I continue to boggle at suggestions like that. How the hell would you do either on a budget that doesn't beggar belief, or with productions values that don't inspire laughter?
What an unimaginative shut in you must be.

I've seen plenty of scifi shows that demonstrate how GL can be done on a tv budget.

GL in the style of Star Trek, BSG, Farscape would be so successful, and it'd look good too.

You point out a list of shows that don't even come close to supporting your thesis. Which is to say, if you want a show where the Green Lanterns don't ever actually *use* their rings, and spend all their time on space stations or space ships, sure. What you wouldn't be able to afford is having them actually, you know, *be Green Lanterns*. No space battles worth mentioning, no superhuman fights, definitely nothing actually shown up close. Travel through space handled as a scene cut, with perhaps a ( very distant ) green light moving in the background.

To put it another way: are you really ready to accept a Green Lantern show in which nobody flies except on sweeps week or the season finale?

Yeah i see most of the show being set within a spaceship actually, and don't really see that as a problem.

Flying and constructs both can work on a tv budget. constructs would have to be slightly powered down, but I think that would be acceptable. Given the budget of any of the shows I mentioned, I'm sure a GL could do great things..

It would be obvious to everyone that certain scenes and plot lines would come about so that costs can be cut, but no one would mind if the writing and acting was good.

It'd be ambitious and expensive, but I really think it could be done.

Even the GL movie had a budget of $200 million and it still wasn't able to pull that aspect off. I don't know how'd you do that on a TV budget.

I think the best we can hope for is the return of the GL animated series.

Alas.

Congrats to the Flash team! Really can't wait to see what they've done with the pilot now, since its the strength of that which has led to a full series pick up.

It was a sure thing that they would pick this series up but still, I'm glad to officially see it.

So will the pilot be released before the show? Or are they going to wait until the prescribed premiere time in the fall to release it? I want to see it so badly :(

We're not going to see it until the Fall sadly. :(

I still don't know why there hasn't been a decent Flash movie yet?

Omg...........

Damn you, SpideyFan! :argh:

The show's twitter just went up a half hour ago and is already up past 2,500 followers.
