So what's the deal with Henry? Is John Wesley Shipp still going to have the same workload as Season 1? I didn't think he was exiting the show...

When he was out of prison, I really though the was going to become apart of team Flash, and I couldn't have been more excited. His scenes with Barry were BY FAR my favorite stuff from season one, so watching Henry leave had me scratching my head until my hair fell out. WTF!?

Also, does anyone prefer the red emblem? The new one just doesn't feel as unique. I disagree with Martin when he says the lightening pops now. It actually gets lost in the white. It popped when it had a darker background.I think the actual bolt needed extending, but thats me.

Maybe they just want to use him in a limited capacity like they did in Season 1. Even with his father moving, that really shouldn't bother Barry. He's the Flash. He can see him whenever he wants.

How did they pay for all of those security upgrades? Did Cisco and Caitlin just quit the PD and Mercury to go back to STAR? And if not, how are they going to justify constantly being there? Especially Caitlin, who was probably making way more in her fancy, corporate lab than Cisco was as a low level civil service type.

I liked almost everything else about this episode. I overlooked Atom Smasher's stupid off-theme, ugly, metal helmet because I liked how they did his power. The grow effect looked cool and the rad sucking business gave the plot a bunch of opportunities for the team to help Barry. I gave a pass on Henry's weak reason for leaving town because Shipp and Gustin acted the hell out the scene. But the stuff in the first paragraph just bugged me.

Well, that was a meh to okay episode... kind of a let-down, I expected more.

Like the Cisco-Joe buddy comedy and that Barry is actually re-building the city at night. Interesting that he is now a well-known superhero and I like how well recieved he is by everybody, I'm curious whether this will stay like that or whether they are going to pull something to turn the citizens against him (to make it dark...).

Iris was definitely better but I still don't get a good chemistry between Barry and her, not even when it comes to being just best friends. I really liked it when this came up and Cisco thought Joe meant him, though.

Henry Allen deciding to leave is just such a stupid thing for the writer to do. It is cruel to his own son, who had next to nothing from his father while growing up and his reasoning is really hard to swallow.

The villain of this episode was rather lackluster and his end rather anticlimatic.

I liked how they handled Barry for the most part, it is kind of cliche by now that a hero will cut everybody else off after such a traumatic event but he didn't come over like an ass as it is often the case with others in his place. I still would like to see him a bit more indipendet from the team but that's likely not going to happen on the show, which is a pity but what can you do.

All in all a okay episode, hope the next one will pick up a bit more from the energy of the first season and really looking forward to learn more Zoom and Jay.

So they couldn't find a way to defeat Atom Smasher and Henry left town with no money, job or place to go because reasons. I hope the writing is better for the rest of the season.

When Joe asked who Jay was at the end, it would have been cooler if we saw Jay using his super speed to answer before saying his name.

I really struggled to watch that episode. I found the dialog to be so cheesy and cringe worthy. I also don't enjoy this whole "He needs a team behind him" to succeed ********. That makes sense on Arrow, but this is the fastest man alive, who also happens to be the fastest thinker alive, but yet you wouldn't know that

The CGI was a little average too, but that doesn't bother me since I understand they have tight budgetary constraints. However, feeling like I was watching a show which has dialog aimed at teenagers is bloody annoying. I feel dumb at times for watching it. Of course it wasn't all bad, but I am thankful this isn't connected to the film universe.

I was hoping Joe would actually shoot when Jay moved another step. And the he'd simply stand behind the group.

Did they kill Atom Smasher?

Which brings up another question: what are they going to do with the metahumans now?

I'm going to get really annoyed if they start killing off every metahuman now. I am really pissed that they just killed Atom Smasher like that. He was part of the frikkin Justice League, and here he's just a throwaway villain. They should have had Barry use his Super Sonic punch on him, and then once Barry discovers the reason he's after him, promise him to find a way to bring him back home.

Hopefully they also explain why he just killed his double like that.

Was it just me or when Cisco had his vision of Atom Smasher on Earth 2 didn't it look like he was in Star Labs?

In his vision he was somewhere with cranes I think, and lots of shipping containers. Probably some pier.

Good episode. Glad to have the show back. But man, that was a REALLY poor, contrived excuse to write Henry out of the show. You can blatantly tell the writers didnt really have a place for Henry on the show. Barry dedicated his life to freeing his dad and he just leaves when he does? Seriously??

I think the writers thought that with Joe around there really is no reason for Barry to have two "dads" in the show and one of them would have to be written out.

Was I the only one expecting Henry to be actually killed off? Like a last laugh sort of thing. Eobard might have lost, but I was thinking he might have hired someone, just in case, to kill Henry the same way he killed Barry's mother.

I thought it was a pretty good episode. The whole thing with his dad leaving the day he gets out of jail baffled me though. Dude did it at his welcome home party. He could have at least stayed for a week or two and had problems adjusting or something

I'm not a regular watcher of the show. I watch it on and off but liked the last few episodes from last season. Was a little disappointed in the premiere. Thought it was okay.

Great opener! I figured Henry will go away (or will die LOL) the moment they showed Wells' confession video. They've done a great job improving Iris. She's great and blended well with the team. The Ronnie thing is unfortunate but it was obvious that it was going to happen with him missing on Legends of Tomorrow. Was there friction between the actor and the crew and thats why he was written off?

My biggest complaint? My recording was cut off just when Garrick showed up! :argh: Was there anything more other than what they showed at the previews/trailers?

No just that he introduces himself as Jay Garrick, Your world's in danger.

I like the season opener, I'm glad it wasn't overly packed it was small and focused more on Barry realizing that being a hero isn't always glamorous, it's costly but that his greatest asset isn't his powers it's his team. The episode served as a means to bring back team Flash into play but also to show a new dynamic with Prof. Stein and Iris addition to the team and their contribution.

I like Atom Smasher, Also the tease of Zoom in Ciso's vision was nice. Glad Henry is out of jail, good call on Tptb to wrap that up at the start, Nice to see Tom Cavanagh (Harrison Wells) cameo. We got another episode featuring Mayor Anthony Bellows. Captain cold & Heat Wave tease.

Can't wait for next week episode "A Flash Of Two World's"

I think that this epside was one of the weakest yet. At the end of season 1 i was all hyped up and then this episode happened. Kinda a buzzkill for me. Well can only get better again after this.

Premiere was ok. It was struggling to keep my attention though. Weak start for the 2nd season.

Fun start for the second season.
I would've given the episode a 7 if the writers hadn't given such an asinine reason for writing Henry out of the show. What a crock.
This is my second con with this episode.

That's the thing: they DIDN'T write him off the show; they just put some physical distance between himself and Barry.

I gave it a 6. It was a decent episode. A little dull for me, but nothing I wasn't expecting. There were a few genuinely funny moments here and there, and the performances have overall improved a lot since last season. I would've given the episode a 7 if the writers hadn't given such an asinine reason for writing Henry out of the show. What a crock.

Agreed. I gave it a 7. Entertaining... not amazing.
