The Friday The 13th Movies Thread - Part 2

All of the F13 movies have redeeming qualities... except Jason Goes to Hell. That movie is so dull.

It's somewhat fascinating how nearly every single decision they made on that movie was the wrong one, the whole thing is just a mess.

Same here!
7 being the only one that I don't LOVE.

Completely ignore Jason goes to hell and Jason X :funny:

I actually prefer 7 over 6 and 8, but I cherish those first 8, lol.

I really did not care for how New Line handled Jason, and that says a lot after Jason (doesn't) Takes Manhattan :P

The remake was okay though, imo.

So much potential with Creyton Duke though. I dug him, but he went underused in the end. Shame.

The movie sucks, but Creighton Duke is a legendary character.

I really feel like they could have done a flashback that showed us how the war between Duke and Jason started.

Truth is in my latter years, I find the flawed entries in the series to be the most interesting now.

I always felt 5 got a bad wrap for doing what the first movie did, bringing things back to a "whodunnit" story. I really enjoy 5. I think John Shepard gave an understated tense performance, and Ethel is hilarious.

Creighton Duke was cool, but they really needed to explain his motivations better. Why was he so obsessed with Jason and how did he know all the stuff that he did, no clue?

I'd say that the opening sequence with the FBI was a fun scene as well.

From what I gather at the time, fans were pissed simply because it wasn't Jason. That's it.

Like ''oh look it's the ambulance guy!.... erm, wut?!''

Yeah I know. But that never bothered me, and couldn't understand why others were bothered by it.

Same with Halloween III. Cool flick, but trashed because it wasn't another Michael Myers kill spree.

So I decided to watch Part VII instead but about 10 mins in my little boy woke up. He stayed away for a good hour. After that I couldn’t be arsed to go back to it so it’s safe to say this Friday the 13th has been crap. I wanted to watch Never Hike Alone really but been in the UK it doesn’t hit here until roughly 4am tomorrow so I’ll watch it tomorrow.

I'm watching PArt 3 before the hockey game starts.

I really enjoy this one

I just finished Jason Goes to Hell. Still appreciate it in it's own weird way.

Are we meant to see Kane Hodder's other eye behind that dark fabric?! lol. Not the best Jason look.

Well, on repeat viewings of Part 5 it gets a little ridiculous because you know it's just a regular guy pretending to be Jason. He's blasting down doors like Jason in the previous movies when he shouldn't be. He stands in front of a bulldozer like an idiot and takes a really good hit that could have killed him because he's pretending to be Jason. Even Jason, not the sharpest tool in the shed, knew better and dove out of the way of moving vehicles :funny:

For me the only thing that saves Part 5 are the over the top characters and the hilarious dialogue. I would seriously watch a sitcom of Ethel and Junior.

God yes, lol. But it better be full of their fowl language too.

I also didn't liked Tommy going all bad in the ending, I prefer him to be always walking in the line.
