The Gaming Lounge: Beyond - Part 3

It doesn't make it "bad", but I can easily understand how it could "ruin" the rest of the game, or even the whole franchise for them. It happened to me with Lost. No matter how much I enjoyed the first five seasons, the last one left such a sour taste in my mouth that I just can't go back to it. At least not yet. Maybe one day.
I didn't hate the Lost ending completely but it was still such a total copout that the intrigue of the earlier seasons that kept it ahead of other TV shows has kind of been lost. Endings are often crucial but for shows based on mystery even more so. For game franchises coming to an end that are heavy on story I imagine it's similar (I haven't played ME3).

Some possible great news if this rumor turns out true. Looks like Legacy of Kain might be getting a reboot

Can't wait!

Hmm. Never played those.

Always thought they looked really interesting. But, never played them.

Soul Reaver is seriously like one of my favorite game ever. I really would be satisfied with them doing a full on remake of that alone

EDIT: Nevermind, it's gone.

I'd say the CE is worth it for the guns and the free inclusion of "From Ashes." The in-game sweatshirt and robo-dog are just nice extras.

I dont think thats worth the almost $40 saved getting the regular edition.

The CE's only $20 more than the regular edition. Granted, the price difference is gonna increase over time since the regular edition's price will drop and the CE's won't, but at the time of release, they were only $20 apart and the CE was a pretty good deal for that.

Personally, the only thing I want is "From Ashes" so I can't justify spending 20 more dollars on that. I think I'm better off waiting for the game to be 40 and then just buying the DLC. It'll still be cheaper for me.

Fair enough. I'm glad I got the CE because I love the machine pistol you get in the N7 weapon pack.

Sorry about that. Amazon had it on sale for $43 earlier today and MS is (or I guess was) selling it for $40 yesterday. Jumping on these deals put the gap between the two at ~ $40 and I dont think the CE stuff is worth that much. I had the same dilemna when I got it week one but decided to go with the $40 savings instead

Steelbook case was worth the extra 10 and throw in From Ashes.. And insta-buy for me.

Anyway, the Silent Hill HD Collection is great. SH2 really stands the test of time horror wise, took some time getting reacquainted with the controls bug after that it was like I've been playing for years.

Looks really nice in 720p as well.

Yeah, it just comes down to personal tastes. Not going to lie, it was the robo dog that made me consider buying the CE lol. Hopefully that comes out some day as a .99 DLC.

Speaking of Collectors Edition, Toys R Us seems to be getting rid of some older ones. I've seen people getting Assassins Creed Brotherhood and Saints Row Platinum editions for 9.99

The robo-dog sucks. I was pretty disappointed to find that all it does is wander around in the shuttle bay and elicit the same boring dialogue from Shep when you click on it.

truth be told, the robo dog was the most attractive thing of the CE to me. I contemplated whether I should get it for him

All I wanted to do was kick the dog out of Normandy or give it back to its owner, I was hoping it could be like your dog in Dragon Age but that seems unlikely I guess.

Yeah, I was thinking there'd at least be a few scenes of the dog and Shep bonding over the course of the game or something. Nope, it just walks around in circles like the useless piece of crap that it is.

Are you serious? Even before I knew it was worthless and stupid, I kind of figured it sounded like the most worthless and stupid thing of everything we got in the CE

Haha I agree. I was relieved to find out it only stayed in the cargo hold. Didn't want that thing following me around
